Every system on a pole takes some muscle.... that's why some people hire people do things for them... its not like you have to trim bushes for hours every day... look at it as a way to build strength in your body...to many people are lazy in this world... yard work is healthy good exercise...i enjoy it and i am in my 60's...

I found your video _after_ buying one, used, from craigslist. I do not have much around my property to use it on but was able to get the pole trimmer, the weed whacker, AND two batteries and a charger, for $50.
It is nice to see that it will handle full size hedges, even though I'll mostly be using it to control some ivy, and some vines around my property.
Someone else in your comments mentions quality control. My trimmer FUNCTIONS well but I feel like the whole trimmer head just seems so sloppy .. the blades seem to 'rattle' a little, the 'bar' doesn't seem to be tightly held in place but this could be an intentional part of the design and the rest, well, just seems so 'plastic like.' Yes, I am indeed aware that it is made of plastic but so is that drill you had in hand at the beginning of the video and I'd be willing to bet it does not "feel plasticy," instead of feeling like a good heavy quality TOOL .. I hope they last me a while.

Thanks for your feedback. Is it powerful enough ? I am hesitating to buy a corded model in order to have enough power so it doesn't block when the hedge has been growing for a bit too long.
I have a cordless bosch without the stick and when it blocks it makes the whole process much more tedious, especially on a ladder when you can barely reach the other side's edge of the hedge.
I reckon with the long stick there is less chance of being annoyed by the cord.

I have found you get a lot cleaner cut if you only cut in the upwards direction. I would've liked to see how you trimmed the tops of the tallest bushes. The only way I know how to trim the tops of 7' + bushes, even with a pole trimmer, requires a ladder or back of pickup truck

I was gonna get you on the "too heavy" wise crack you made but I'll give you credit for realizing once you use all arms it is an important consideration. I'm 64 and for years used a standard trimmer and have about 120' of hedge where much of it I need a step ladder. Great review however both my B&D hedge trimmer and grass trimmer both lasted just 3 years before they fell apart. I've been a Quality Control Inspector for 36 years and noticed the quality of B&D has gone way down, I think they are made in China now. But you gave me pause but still ordered another brand. I'll see how it holds up. (pun intended)

you must be using your b and d trimmer an awful lot...sounds like you need commercial grade tools.. i have the 20 volt trimmer and hedge trimmer for over 5 years and they still work just the same as when new... i do oil and adjust them from time to time... i am also in my 60"s

Heavy should not be a complaint, unless one (1) is merely noting that manual labor is sometimes hard. It's a hedge trimmer on a pole, and a cheap one at that. This is about as cheap and lightweight of a pole hedge trimmer as you can get. A Ryobi for example, will set you back more than double the price, and adds another approximately 5 lbs.

@@The570Experience Certainly, and thank you for taking the time to make the video. Over the years, I've come to rely heavily on not only traditional research, but RUclips videos of people actually using the tools in real world circumstances, that mirror my own intentions. Well done.
