Bro, I get the whole psyching out your opponent thing, I do it every time, but we both know Paige is just too smart to fall for it! As to the green swirling, maybe it's some residual green glass on the end of the blowpipe?, I've got a hutch I dug here on the west coast, same time frame and the green swirl goes most of the way down the bott, so definitely IN the glass, who knows, I just know it's always cool to find botts like that, makes them even more unique! Another cool vid Ned & Paige!! 👍
Haha Paige definitely isn’t falling for it and that killer teal soda owl remains in limbo until we dig something else just as cool. Yeah something about western early 90s hutches and green swirls starting in the top & sometimes traveling down the whole bott ! Definitely in the glass…
Gotta tell you Ned! You and Page are my all time favorite bottle BOTTLE DIGGING DUO OF ALL TIME!!! CONGRATS ON KILLER OWL!!! LOVE YOU TWO!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Bottle detective Ned man I wish you were in Upstate New York there's tons of 1840 Pintil Bottle out here on the east side it'd be a good video for you take care now big fan of your videos
I actually spent the summers in Ithaca w my cousins when I was a kid - those treeline dumps behind the old farms were some of the first places I ever dug bott !!
@@BottleNed no way my husband and I grew up in clifton springs near Rochester NY. So many bottles up there. I got a lead on an old dump in my old hometown im dying to see if I can find when I go back in the spring.. love to have you along. Paige too of course 😉
W, T, Co = Whitall Tatum company. BottleNeds favorite east coast Botts!!. W.T. & Co first operated in 1875 outta New Jersey. Me being located in Northern VT. Alot of the embossed pharmacy bottles dug here from the late 19th are Whitall Tatum Co. Produced. W.T.CO was one of the first glass houses I learned about.
Lol you know I love me some eastern bott. Out here, if the pharms have the WT on them, you’re digging a mid 80s layer or newer. The early pharms have smooth bases or abbreviations of earlier glass works
Oh I got me some smooth bottoms too. Those r pretty rare in my area seeing there wasn't alot of pharmacy in my area then. Definitely would have to be a privy not a dump.
I love your passion for the bottles Ned. I’m exactly the same. Especially when (in another video) you said about the ‘thought’ that went through a persons head that is long dead now, I always feel the same when I’m digging and come across an old pot or pail with smaller things inside it- someone in a certain moment of time, all those years ago, had the thought to do that, and now YOU are connected to that persons thought across time! It’s just awesome. Bottles are amazing. I’ve collected since I was 11 yrs old. 👍🇬🇧
wowww congrats - those are beauties ! And they tumble out great too ! I'll trade you THREE english perfumes & a super rare Lea & Perrins w orig contents for it haha@@pauljefferies2091
I have found one of them crocks you can never find the lid. They came with a thin cork. Yes, a thin cork that covers it. Mine still had it in the bottom when I found it. Beautiful color on them bottles. Love the smoke hazing. Thankyou for sharing..
The first known reference of the term “Pop”, as referring to a beverage, was in 1812 in a letter written by English poet Robert Southey. In this letter, he also explains the term’s origin: “Called on A. Harrison and found he was at Carlisle, but that we were expected to supper; excused ourselves on the necessity of eating at the inn; supped there upon trout and roast foul, drank some most admirable cyder, and a new manufactory of a nectar, between soda-water and ginger-beer, and called pop, because ‘pop goes the cork’ when it is drawn, and pop you would go off too, if you drank too much of it.”
I found an old Whiskey bottle. It was upside down and it was half full of whiskey. I sat it upright on a shelf and the cork dried out then the whiskey evaporated out!
Never dug a Teal Owl only clears. But, I bought a Teal owl back in the late 80's for $30 in an antique store in Coos Bay OR. Still have it today and glad I didn't pass it up!
I used to dig in an area east of the Concord Naval Weapons Station, Now Port Chicago, between Martinez and there in an area now labeled as the Point Edith Wildlife Area. Rumor had it that a lot of the 1906 SF earthquake debris was dumped there. Found many broken Colbalt Blue Owl poisons strung about old pits from previous diggers. Had to go at low tide since we were digging down about 3 feet into the mud. Doubt you can get access there anymore, but might still be worth a look. I can pinpoint if interested. @@BottleNed

@@BottleNed I dug one like yours in a west Wales tip about 5 years ago and it sold right away 👍. Great Vids buddy, you know your stuff and you always get me laughing 😅😎
Vase aline was also used on film in the silent era for actresses faces as it left a shine that was picked up by the camera. It wasn't used eventually as it was discovered it could encourage facil hair on the actors ..
I was once told that those swirls were caused by the glass blowers using chewing tobacco...🤤 no idea if that's true or even possible but it's another theory for you👍
I bet 90% of the folks that used that Owl Laxative bot really couldnt give a chit, I know lame. Where you're digging has rats of unbelivable size, Ive seen them as bid as Chihuahua's.
Nice finds!
Sofa 'pop' who knew! You my friend are a wealth of knowledge ❤
The Owl is ripper bottle well done Ned.
Congrats on the owl drug soda!! I have only found one and it was just a screw top one… still was very pleased to find one ! Keep up the awesome videos

Who could’ve thought? Who? Who?
Okay, dad joke over. Really great video. Not only do y’all find amazing relics, but you connect to the past. Love it!

I love the Japanese room you're in... Complete with the tatami floor mats and paper walls!!! Perfect 👍!!
Reminds me of the benicia bots across the bay that were dug 50 years ago
Wish I was there for that. I know a couple ppl who were. Stronger patina and the botts were all pontiled…what a dream
Great video as usual, I would of put a crisp packet into the re berried bottle just to confuse them 😂👍🏻

That busted hutch would make an awesome tall glass!!
Making a glass out of it for sure

The pick hasn’t happened yet. I want to get a few more good botts in the pot so everyone is happy at the end!!
Try as you must but she will always have what you REALLY want! XD_ _ _

@@BottleNed You, the guys and P3 rock!

Gotta seal those corks immediately before they dry out n shrink ! That’s happened to me before…my condolences on losing that fine, aged whiskey !

Hey Ned next time you rebury a bottle you should write a little note cork it and burry it upside down the note should say something about how old it was when you dug it and the date you dug it ..
I have hermetically sealed paper notes that I sometimes bury that include a hair follicle & a request to clone me if found in distant future…
@@BottleNed that's like a 100x better than my idea! Lol

The Crown Perfumery always used stoppers in the shape of a crown. They come in emerald green too ( in the UK at least)🏴👍
I recall seeing a green one out here once too !!

That's not the reason for term soda Pop? it was for the water that pops!?
Pressure being relieved as seal created by rubber stopper is instantly broken by pushing it down, making a loud popping noise !
The blue in a pharmacy was thought to be position 😊
I've had bottles break from temp & pressure change as soon as I brought them to the surface.
Perhaps some punty rods were copper 😮
That's a cut down for sure
I was once told that those swirls were caused by the glass blowers using chewing tobacco...🤤 no idea if that's true or even possible but it's another theory for you👍
Love that theory
Would you sell the teal Owl bottle?
Have to get it in the split first with Paige !! Wish me luck psyching her out ! 😉
Good luck psyching her out!@@BottleNed

Ship rats big as possums - I’ve seen em !!
Abalone is super tough and kinda bland.
I had a good meal of it once but somebody knew how to prepare it and it took hours
Please save any old bottles you throw back for some reason, I'll buy them from you.
She could have anything she wants if it were mine to give.. just saying
You have an imagination keep it to yourself.
