I'm going to Bali in December then to Bangkok and I'm thinking last trip to Japan before returning home! Thank you for encouraging me! You rock my love
I booked my first flight and trip to Thailand, I leave July 4th in honor of my friends that passed away 🥹 when you said 11:11 I got chills, I’ll be there for a month 🩵
I've been watching one video after another about relocation, not only in Thailand but in several other countries. This is the most insightful, off-the-beaten-path one I've seen so far. There is so little available for single women travelling abroad, regardless of age. With so many people relocating right now, there's a fortune to be made for groups designed for women, either for simple travel or for permanent installation. I'm sure there are enough English-speaking people in Thailand to create a mutually-supportive community for those of us doing it solo. In any event, thank you for walking us through the stages of isolation. And showing us how you picked yourself up and dealt with the challenges courageously. You truly are an inspiration and your mama must be incredibly proud of you!
Thank you for sharing! I'm headed to Thailand in 35 days. It's my 1st international and solo trip! I'm staying for two weeks! Your experience was definitely helpful! Thank you!
@@thealiciajo You're so welcome! The plan before this new COVID variant was Phuket, Phi Phi, Koh Lipe. Right now since I have to enter via sandbox it will be Phuket 7 nights, since trying to decide between Phi Phi or Koh Lipe for 2 nights, then back to Phuket for 3 nights. Since I have to be retested to return to states I had to switch up. Koh Lipe doesn't have any testing sites. But I will definitely let you know! I'm so excited and know it's going to be an amazing experience!
Hey Dana, hope you’re well? I’d like to ask how your trip went and what your itinerary? I’m heading to Bangkok tomorrow and I’m a tad nervous as I haven’t totally planned every part of my journey. Lol Thanks
The fact I just looked into the healthcare around the world 2 weeks ago was the universe speaking through you to me knowing you got to do what you love and travel this was exactly the video I needed glad I found your page today 👑👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💯
This is a really good video and I watch a lot of solo travel videos. The content is relevant and beneficial. Also you have a good voice and you’re not rambling. Thanks.
I really appreciate that you talked about the not so good things that happened like your flight and how you overcame it because I want to go there too but I worry about whether I can do it because everyone seems to have no trouble

Hello Beautiful I never been out the Country so I have many questions, so our phones and Lap tops will work in Phuket Thailand? I'm going next month. (2024) do we need to call our cell carrier, or purchase something when we arrive?
I was in Thailand as a senior solo traveler back in February and planning on going back in February 2023 .thinking on visiting Korea or somewhere in Asia on September 2023.I love traveling.
@@thealiciajo Hey Alicia, I have been in Korea for 4 months now, I highly recommend it. I am a person of colour, but I am not black so I can’t speak from that perspective. However, it is really safe. There are so many things you can do. I highly recommend Jeju Island. So many cute cafe’s. Only downside is that xenophobia is real. So if you want to go out, they will decline foreigners. But generally highly recommend it.
I love this as a single woman I've wanting to get out and travel see the world but nervous seeing this really inspires me planning to take the plunge in 2023 a book a trip somewhere.
I'm going to Thailand next month for my first solo trip, I've got a return ticket to Bangkok and I'm not sure where to spend most of my time (only there for 18 days). Do you think Chang Mai would get boring for that long?
i think being in Chang mai for 2 weeks is great what will not make it boring is the fact that they offer a lot of outside travel trips and explorations if you feel you have used up your time there. I also feel it depends when you go !
@@thealiciajookay thanks, I'll probably just stay in Bangkok for a day or 2 and then head to Chang Mai. One more question, did you get vaccinated for hepatitis A before your trip to Thailand?
Hi, Nice to come across your channel. I am getting my travel documents ready. I am Nigerian so the documentation is extensive. But really looking forward to traveling, exploring and working. Before the covid lockdown I was affraid of going to Asia but since the lockdown I have put a lot of places on my list that I wouldn't have considered before like Sri Lanka. The next place I want to visit. If the visa situation is easy I might try and go to a few other Asian countries because it will be easier than when I go back to the UK and then try and come back. Hi, @@thealiciajo ! I've just got here. It seems you have such a wonderful content! What are your goals in life, as you mention in the beginning of the video? Do you speak other languages besides English? ⚘️😊🇧🇷🚩
So when using WhatsApp and the link app for in Thailand ,is that because you have no phone service from Thailand to Other places like where a certain person may be from such as Atlanta ,Texas or Baltimore?Or is it just to be on the safe side ?Also did you do both Bangkok & Phuket?if so how far are they from one another
So it was easier to use whats app if I wanted to community with people in the area. Before I left I just told (At&T) that I would be leaving out the country and I payed for a travel service data that helped. So i used both simultaneously. You definitely will have phone service it just depends where you are at ! and Yes, I went to both Bangkok and Phuket. My flight was 2 hours max to both, so they are in a reasonable time to fly easily.
Wear appropriate clothes for the culture, Insaw so many people wearing tiny straps, shorts showing too much skin where ordinary women there do not, even when swimming. Thailand is very conservative. Especially when visiting temples-please cover up and show respect. Dressing modestly you will be treated differently too in a positive way. Also a must is a good health insurance, easy to pick up bugs and it saved me big time! The top clinics are amazing but very expensive. I would also write names and addresses of best international hospitals (clinics) in the town you visit.
Thank you for this video. I noticed that the Airbnb you posted for Phuket is linked to one in Florida. Not sure if it’s changed or if it’s the right link?
This is such an amazing video. Thank you. I am literally about to book and go. I just need to. Where did you fly into again. I think you said this I’m sorry. I am so nervous, but idc. I am so grateful for this video. How do I close where I am going to stay.

hey guys i really need help. im very interested in thai culture, i watch thai dramas and i really want to go there. me and my friends we want to go for a small trip to Bangkok but my father has some doubts and he wont let me yet. the doubts are due to thailand being seen or advertised as a place for sex tourism and some illegal stuff. i know thailand is beautiful and the perverted tourists dont define it. i tried to explain this to my father and he still thinks its unsafe. he is okay with me travelling to other places. what can i tell him? can you please share your good experiences if you have any? i try to make him watch travelling videos about women who travel to thailand and enjoy it. please help
