ShartimusPrime Biography:
Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

This is objectively the best Marvel Legends Captain America figure (pinless, more detailed sculpt, and a shield without holes), but the 20th Anniversary Captain America is still my definitive Cap figure. Nothing beats that classic 616 Cap design! I'll take the mask wings and pirate gloves/boots over this more tactical look any day of the week an twice on Sunday!

I'm a little torn on the shade of blue. I think if it was ever so slightly less saturated and had a bit more green in it, it would be perfect. I don't think of Ultimate Cap as being friendly, so both of these headsculpts are perfect to me. Really nails the character's edge. Great review Sharty
the blue should be lighter, the red should be browner, the chest star should have a black outline, the back star shouldn't even exist, the blue on his shield should be darker and his face should look more like a model instead of a caveman. other than that, spot on
also, if you think Ultimate Cap shouldn't LOOK friendly, you missed the point of Millar's book

I'd love some more Ultimates. Hulk and Maker are top of my list. The MCU smart hulk would be a great base for an Ultimate Hulk especially from the Ribic secret wars art. Iron Man is an old favorite design too. Behind the modular armor that's the design I always think of

This is the Marvel Legends comic Cap I'm gonna get, the blue doesn't bother me nor the head size. I'm not bothered by the limited crunch either but that could change once I have it in-hand. What will bother me though are the stripes, they're shifted that the center stripe is white Depending on how I feel, I might repaint it.

Gotta say man, your articulation segments have been frustrating me. I used to come to your videos for that, cuz you showed the extent of the joints clearly. Now you tend to rush through it, you hold the figures WAY away from the camera, and your hands are in the way half the time. Hopefully some helpful criticism.

I bought this last night and was immediately impressed by the sculpt but as soon as I went to see the ab crunch for myself he split in half at the belt. Returned it this morning this is my favorite cap look hopefully it was just a one-time issue
Just got this wave today, only opened Cap but he’s my favorite figure in the wave. I dremmeled a ton away from his torso to get the diagram joint working properly and he needs more paint but I do love him.

This sure is the best pinless Captain America from The Ultimates comic book. But my concerns are the colors, doesn't feel vibrant but more like flat colors, at least Hasbro could have added some shades. Also the red gloves and boots are flat, they should have done with a little brown since it was more realistic which the comic book version was conceived that way. Finally, they could have added 2 extra heads: one without the mask and the other with the kinda soldier helmet one as The Ultimates Vol. 2. So it's a 50-50 for me personally. Honestly I've always preferred the Ultimate Universe overed the main one and I'm hoping we get more figures of that universe, especially Iron Man and Thor
as far as The Ultimates go, I always interpreted them being how they really are, and the MCU movies being the crap that their PR department shows to the public

I feel like some the design choices on this figure, particularly the colors, were done specifically so he could pass for a modern 616. I didn't even realize it was the Ultimate version at first.

I bought this for use in my slightly Futuristic (about 15 years) Marvel Earth 818 Captain America! I had gotten so many alternate Figures that looked Futuristic that I decided to make a Futuristic Marvel Earth. This is an Earth where Old Man Logan now runs Xavier's School. So I have like Armored Thor, Iron Man 2020, Ultimate Captain America, Old Man Hawkeye, Lila Barton, X-23 as Wolverine, Grown Up Franklin Richards as Psi Lord, Shuri as Black Panther, etc.

Think I will pick up this one. I want to assemble the 4 Marvel Characters from Ultimate Alliance (2006). Ultimate Cap, Ultimate Thor, Ultimate Spider-man, & Ultimate Wolverine. Although I could just use the biker wolverine for that look in the game.
I remember ads in a wizard magazine about the comic book this character is from; awesome figure though👍🏻👍🏻.

Great review as always Shartimus! My only minor critique is I would have liked to have seen a head swap between this Cap and the Hit Monkey Ultimate Cap. Any how, yeah...that noggin, ooof, it's definitely big. It's weird because it appears to be a repeat of the phenomenon that happened from the previous HM Cap to the Cap-wolf where the head just got more huge, lol. Also, while I liked the Reb Brown homage they did with the 20th Anniv Cap, I'd have preferred the Alex Ross style face for this new Ult Cap, as that feels a bit more comic authentic to me. Any how, still looking forward to this figure, as I've always loved this look for Cap; imo, this is how he should have always looked, more paramilitary-like, which aligns better with his training and past. (I know, I know...blasphemous speech coming from a classicist! Lol). Any ways, keep on Rockin it Shart!

Thanks to your awesome review, I bought this guy and it's now my favorite Captain America marvel legend. The details in the sculpt is one of the best hasbro done in a long time. I disagree on the big head and backwash though. I thinks it's perfect

I'm going to wait for this too show up at my Target. Marvel Legends figures go on sale every once in a while so I'll pick this Cap and Extremis Iron Man when that happens. I loved the 2 Lionsgate Ultimate Avengers animated movies from around 2006 so I want this Cap for that reason, I've heard the ultimates comics were a little weird so I never read them. But the movies are perfect avengers movies anybody would (probably) like.
We need a new Marvel Legends figure line for the Ultimate Universe.

The toy biz ultimate cap still is better when it comes to articulations . And better body sculpt still but this cap looks great. Though .
Ultimate Cap from Hasbro Marvel Legends series in My opinion is the best Captain America action figure ever.
Maybe I'll feel different with the figure in hand, but head size looks fine. Agreed regarding colour now that you mention it, might have to do a cheeky repaint.

Definitely some big headism but the toybiz Capt was a bit peanut headed. Still a favorite. I think the 80th Capt has the best masked heads overall, I have a soft spot for the Terrax Steve Rogers head.
I'm impressed by all thr paint and texture but the diaphragm and the clip is brutal. I dknt know which is worse, a near unusable new joint or an almost 15 year old clip that's gonna break from wrists it wasn't designed for. I wish they'd just make it a closed loop and make me take the hand off.
The new torso is the future, the issue was he needs a reverse ball joint on waist just like Doom, or Supreme Doctor Strange.
The issue is they need to just engineer it right. The Thing was better than this.
Looks like they don't have a test room, test room will help them to improve details like that torso issue, or add more articulation. I guess Hasbro has a lot of bad habits, because they aren't an action figure company, unlike Toy Biz.
You know if some of the webbgear from the valaverse you can total make him look more tactical like in the comics and I hope they give a masked ultimate hawkeye

Great review, however I do not agree with the big heads gripe. They look fine to me and they seem appropriate based on this somewhat chunky design of the character. At least that is my take on this.

I got mine last night. First time I tried to attach the shield to the wrist one of the prongs broke. Came to see if it was just me and I see it’s just weak plastic for some reason?

Yeah the blue is definitely too dark for this version of cap. Should have been a slightly darker version of blue from the vintage wave. Happy to get a shield without the holes just wish Hasbro stopped using the clips.

Is it weird that the best part of this figure for me is the canteen 😂 I’ve had the early Hasbro Ultimate Cap for EVER (terrible figure btw but it holds a special place in my heart) and that belt had a big ol’ canteen on the right side of his back!

Are the heads really too big?
Maybe the photo real tech is limited to how small the heads can be. Maybe the bodies of the action figures are getting smaller.
We're paying more for less.
I don't see a big head issue, the big issue is the torso movement, but I don't see why Cap needs a big movement there.
