Funny, I have the same problem. I had 4 strings and 4 remotes and couldn't get a single one to work. The 2025 sized coin batteries that came with were reading a full charge. I happened to have a CR3032 sized battery, which is a bit thicker, that I put in. The remote then started working. Very frustrating problem, especially when the instructions warn you to only use a 2025 size.
had the same thing happen to me. The store from aliexpress sent me another remote and controller but they too did not work. she told me it was impossible for both not to work. Basically called me a liar. lol. WTF am i gonna do with extra remotes and controllers? Anyway, going to try the thicker battery.
Me pasaba lo mismo, fue cambiar por una pila nueva y solucionado. Aunque pongas una pila en el mando con 3V no es suficiente, tiene que tener sobre los 3,3V.

Thank you! You have solved my problem! with CR3032 the rf wireless is working. I had been looking for the problem for 4 or 5 months.

Took apart (remove front sticker then the screws) and resolder the battery part.
After that clean a little bit the buttons place.
