I LOVE my bronze Willard. I get so many freaking compliments everytime i wear it. Not looking for any but its fun to see how many guys look at watches. I think ive probably sold about 5 of them. Had mine for about a year now and the patina gets better by the month.
Yeah I can’t complain about this one. I love the case and what it is. I have since modded mine and changed out the dial on it, making it even more unique. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I believe addiedive and Steeldive are on in the same under one roof. Why two different names I have no idea. As for the bronze not sure. I would think so. I do know this watch was starting to change color over time. I recently had a client take a liking to this watch that i modded and I just sold it. It’s a great started watch for sure to see if you like the turtle style watch before you pull the trigger on the real Seiko King Turtle. Thanks for watch and commenting.
@@DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri thank you dear i have the green steeldive it's suuuper i love it I have more than 40 watches rado and rovina seiko casio Tissot..... But realy steeldive is perfect good quality and good price
That’s surprising considering it’s an seiko NH35 movement. But even they can fail from time to time. Good news they are cheap and easy to replace. I specialize in that.
It's commonly known as the "Willard". The KIng Turtle is an earlier version of the case. This is NOT a clone. So. although related they have distinct qualities and dimensions. For the price it is an excellently specced watch with a reliable Seiko movement. Also Steeldive/Addisdive have a good reputation. I just had mine delivered today, it cost me $118 from Aliexpress with no additional shipping or taxes. Mine will be mildly modded with a different dial, top hat crystal, and quality leather strap. edit after the mods. I now have some reservations since my experience. Firstly the date alignment was pretty poor and I'm not sure the correct version of the movement was used. The willard style has the stem at 4.1 not the more common 3.8. I swapped in a "3:00" o'clock movement and the alignment is good. In swapping the movement I had to change the crown which on the willard is 6.5mm, smaller than most. The crown was on so tight it was impossible to remove and I broke off the stem in trying. So had to order a new crown. The supplied strap is pretty crappy and I bought a nice Horween strap from Hemsut. The final result has a blue dial and spacer ring and is pretty nice.
Im thinking the same thing but with a blue mother of pearl dial. Im assuming its 28.5mm dial? Maybe even go for a Nh GMT movement and widen the main hole.
It should be a standard size seiko dial. GMT would be cool for sure. I actually just sold this one. A viewer really liked it and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.
@@DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri Thanks for the reply. I have a tuna build in the mail, if that goes well, then this is going to be the next one as it has very unique-cool looks.
I can do that. I think in my first or second video I ever did was modding a watch and I pulled one out and did dial and hand change. But I can do a step by step on doing it.
It’s a Willard clone not a King Turtle . I’ve owned one for two years. Actually, really good. I don’t have a single issue with it including now patina covered bronze.
Ah, the ol' Willard clone vs. King Turtle debate-because who doesn’t love a good watch identity crisis? Glad to hear your bronze patina hasn't thrown you for a loop. Sounds like it’s working out perfectly for you-patina and all. If it makes you feel any better, I’m sure your watch is just as good as its confusion over being a Willard or a Turtle!
Yes and no. They are both turtles. The Willard is a a specific model number SPB151 named after the watch worn by CPT Willard (Martin Sheen) in Apocalypse Now. The king turtle has sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel. Depending on which model Willard you are looking at they may have the same. The king turtle is less expensive than the Willard. But in my opinion it’s just as good and nice as the Willard without the price of the fictional character. Now if CPT Willard had been a true military figure then that would be a different story 😂. Thanks for watching and commenting.
That bronze is a capt willard, similar to the turtle but different. I've got 3 steel dive homage watches to seiko, all of them have seiko movements and all offer more than seiko. I own two of the proper seikos and alway find myself wearing the steel dive by choice.
Ah, so you’re saying the Steel Dive watches are like the Swiss Army knives of the dive watch world-offering everything and then some? That’s impressive! It must be quite the achievement to find a watch that not only outdoes Seiko but also makes your proper Seiko's feel like they’re slumming it. Sounds like Steel Dive has really earned its spot on your wrist!
Did you accidentally overscrew the crown? I did that on my Tag Aquagraph many years ago and sent it back to Tag. I've fortunately had 0 issues with my Addisdives watches. Sorry that happened man.
Well that sucks. The beauty is you can get a NH35 movement for about $35 and swap it out and you are back in action. Let me know if you need any help. I do movement swaps all the time. Thanks for commenting and watching.
Parabéns pelo review!! Acabei de comprar o meu pela AliExpress!! Lindo relógio!!

Great review. I have never seen that watch before.
Thank you.
CHI-NA!
@@clontstable1 well of course it’s from China lol. The movement is seiko though. So it has that going for it. That’s why I modded the dial also.

Can you do a video on how to swap an NH35 movement? 😊
