Hi Karl, Thank you for the very informative video. Everyday is a learning day, I look forward to the next video. I hope you are well, have a great day 👍🏻 Thanks again Mike
Thank you Mike 😊
👍👍👍.Thank you Karl
Cheers mate 👍
Wonderful way to get perfect glue joints!
Cheers mate
You know, i never would have thought of paying someone else to sharpen my tools. With a class worth of them to do that would be a big job. Smart. 😊
Definitely financially viable. I don't know a single site joiner who sharpens his own tool. 😀
Gotta love the swish of a nice sharp plane blade😁 Have you explored the sprung joint method for jointing boards yet Karl? If anyone could explain it without hurting peoples brains you would be the guy.
Thank you Phil, 😊 Yes indeed I'll definitely make a video on that technique.
Hi Karl, Good planing tip for putting boards together, as always great video, take care
Cheers Shaun 🍻
Well you learn sumat every day. Never seen that before.
In out method mate, perfect for joining boards cancels out any error in the planing. 😀
Lots of good tips. Great video.
Thank you Chris 😊
I love hand planes but I have a bit of trouble with being heavy handed on one side. I almost always end up with a slight bevel. Very frustrating. Maybe you could make a quick video on how to keep a square edge when using the plane. Keep up the good work. All the best.
Yes I have the perfect tip, I'll make a short tomorrow 😀
@@karlpopewoodcraft I almost made an 'in out on guard' comment but then I thought it would wasted on a turret head because they wouldn't know what bayonnet fighting was 😁😉
@@briansbuildsandoutdoors4936 haha 😄
@@karlpopewoodcraft this method actually eliminates that problem. if the two boards are to be glued together, any non-squareness is cancelled out when they come together. thats what is so good about the method.
@toyfiretrucking yes that's correct mate 😀 think Brian is just asking in general when squaring up a stand alone board.
Hi Karl, You make it look easy! I'll be giving it a go on an upcoming project. I have one question for you regarding applying wax to the plane base, does the wax ever coat the planed surface to some extent and affect the glue up?
Hi Gavin, I've personally never had an issue with this and not heard of another person mentioning it. I think by the time the plane has taken a few layers off the amount of wax is so minimal it's not an issue.
Nice video there m8 I have a number 4 Stanley it's about hundred year old plus. Don't use it a ton but when a do it's a joy. Well as long as am not flattering massive pannels. 😂 Hope your good and everything is going ok👍🏴
Cheers mate, ye should be fine the number 4. All good thank you 😊
@@karlpopewoodcraft yea a don't do enough with them to invest in more. Maybe one day. Power tools!!😄👍🏴
👍Thanks
You're very welcome 🙂
