fight was a wonderful send off to the trilogy, even if it doesnt top out SS-ishin in my book. If theres one thing From does a really good job of its their DLC, blue smelter runback and horsefuck valley not withstanding of course. Hope you enjoyed the video might be messing around with this style a bit more in the future, was a fun time making the end product come through
@@ElvenPrince I agree, it's just incredible what this DLC achieved, and after that we even got Sekiro, it was truly mind blowing. I like ER, but honestly speaking I didn't like the combat that much, only against the major bosses, the demigods are incredible aswell. I really appreciated the video btw, since you had fun, and the content it's great, I'm eager to see more!
I thought that I'd mention that Gael is an Archangel. Angel means messenger; he leaves multiple messages - "Take the plunge. You won't die." And his cape forms a pair of red wings. Consider also that the Blood of the Dark Soul is literally ink (compare also to the "pus of man" whose "Ember" drops are charcoal (writing material)) "A picture paints a thousand words"
Also, my head-canon is that Filianore's Spear is based on Longinus, the Holy Lance from Grail myth. The Dark Sigil is the Holy Wound. I also believe that the spear was used to fell and curse Kalameet. ( Kalameet is a transposition of the Arabic word *Kalimat* meaning *Words* )
i can definetly see those connections now that you mention them, arthurian mythology isnt something that ive studied all that much but yeah those connections make a lot of sense once you bring them all together, thank you for watching!
thanks for watching, was fun to try something new, like i said this was kind of a test run to see how this sort faired and in the future want to try to use this format for something a little out of left field so we'll have to see if i get around to making it anytime soon
Man the DS3 dlcs were peak. The main game borrows just a bit too much from previous FROM titles but the DLCs are godly. And absolutely agreed, everything about Gael is fucking amazing, what a way to send off the trilogy.
with the whole borrowing bit the quote from karla about ruinous nostalgia is rather fitting for the game even to its detriment. but agreed this fight was a wonderful send off to the trillogy, even if it doesnt top out SS-ishin in my book. Hope you enjoyed the video
can definetly see the argument there. it just didnt click with me maybe because i didnt spend all that many time fighting SoC which might have colored my opinion of the fight but it is a damn good fight with all the call backs to the first games.
...Mmnnno. Wrong opinion. Objectively. Thematically, sure, it appeals to ds1 vets. It's literally your character from ds1 and Gwyn. But he's easy ashit, barely has any health, and his moveset is boringly predictable in both phases. If you argue otherwise you're gae
This fight was mind-blowing, didn't expect DS to go this high. That DLC is crazy

Soul of cinder is fromsoft’s best boss.
