I started alcohol and drug abuse at 18 and finally quit at 41 (drank every day but 3 ). I've been sober for 31 years now and verry healthy. And one of the best parts of my life is for the past 31 years, I know who I am.
Hey Bro I am felling it. All in the name of fun. I start head butting fence palings on Rum, I learnt early and didn't do the rum consequences were too great.
Love your beard brother. I got a big one myself, but I'm maybe about half your age. I like wine. Working on quitting. I went over 48 hours recently. My goal is 35 days or more. I'd feel great doing once a week as I've been used to doing a whole bottle for a year or two now. We all have our own trauma and reasons for it. It's nice for forgetting and experiencing some merriness, but we all know it's really not good for our organs and overall health. Cheers.
Thanks for watching and commenting Bro!! you are right we are all different and have different coping mechanisms. I found when drinking my problems were a lot harder to deal with since I stopped don't have problems anymore they are just challenges and when life goes a bit wrong I just laugh now and teat it as a challenge to overcome that may have something to do with age and knowing whatever come your way you can get through it one day at a time.

My dad said joking i gave them up and mam said no way, i bet u will never stay off them. He took on her bet and actually gave them up even though he was only joking with her at first.
Given it a break never worked for me once I start I can't stop until I'm violently sick and a nervous wreck, so I gave it up just over two years ago. I took my first drink at age 16 I drank 2 cans of Budweiser and I got so sick I puked all night, but the next weekend I tried it again and I didn't get sick and loved the feeling. That was the start of a long road of alcoholism, pure hell.

Good advice! I’m happy with my relationship with alcohol because I don’t need it. But, I really do like a nice glass or two…or three of bourbon or wine at separate times of course. ;)
On my last trip to Oz i switched to Coopers thinking it is more natural Funny the excuses your mind will make in order to drink As the Coopers is higher in alcohol (But no preservatives) That does not mean no hangover!!! Just hanging in an Aussie pub with a pool table and juke box was the good old days , still glad i had the experience and all the laughter
Thanks for watching, yeah they sell it to you as the healthy option. Hey Bro I hear ya I got pretty good at Pool nothing like playing for beers and winning.
Hey Bro! thanks for watching and the comment, you are correct no one gets out alive. But if you feel good after a big night on the Piss maybe you aren't hitting it hard enough. Just check you are not making excuses to drink and that you do actually feel good poisoning yourself.
I'm 24 and just starting to drink. I hate pure vodka but I love beer and especially malt liquor. I really like the way St. Ides designs their products. One time I had about 4 shots of vodka and I didnt feel drunk at all. but with beer I do get drunk. I think its the barely and wheat that gets me??? I often times drink 40oz liquor bottles. Those 40 ounce bottles I drink really fast so I get plenty drunk. But when I buy a 6 pack of St. Ides then the drunk feeling builds up steady but I dont get to the same drunkness as I do with the 40oz bottle design. Next time that I buy a 6 pack of Malt Liquor I'll pour it in the biggest cup I have and make it an effort to drink it faster. I like to think that I'm not a wus and would like to see myself as someone who is old but still drinks and is seemingly healthy at age 71. I hope that I can trade in my smoking habit for drinking. and If i did have a job I think that I'd drink 12, 16 ounce cans a day. Right now I only drink sometimes 2,40 ounce bottles a day or one 6 pack of 16 ounce cans a day. I only spend what my parents are able to give me or let me borrow lol. Anyways I hope to be someday old as well as a strong willed drunkard. :)
You’re right, it's a fact that quitting booze not only makes your world a better place to be in, good things start to “magically” happen and the energy is insane! Steffon Barkload's Quit Drinking Forever, that’s the best shortcut I go’ogled that took less than a week to work without suffering withdrawal.
I gave up drinking 4 years ago at 36 years of age. I have no intention of ever drinking again. It's a waste of time and a waste of life. Good on you for having a go and wanting to do better for yourself. Every time you have an urge to drink, just drink water or coffee. We need water. I don't drink enough!
Thanks Bro for the comment and watching. I think you are referring to when I went to get a six pack but I actually got a carton 24. I only did to celebrate the completion of the rammed earth building. So I didn't really start drinking it was a one off and after not drinking for 15 years I no I will not go back to drinking alcohol regularly it is poison and I know that and I don't enjoy the pain it gives. hope this helps.
Before I watch the video, I'm going to guess what your line of thinking is and I'm guessing it's the same as mine. You don't quit alcohol because that sounds too final and puts you under a lot of stress just like any kind of deadline does. If you give it a rest, you are making the decision on your own and with free will without letting the alcohol or anything else control you. So you decide every day to not drink alcohol because it's in the best interest of your own well being. When I quit, it was surprising to me because I didn't even plan it. Miraculously I just didn't want it anymore and every day I decide that I don't want it today. I just visualize what it would be like today taking my first sip and I already start feeling like shit. No thanks.
Thanks for watching and trying. I have seen subtitle of my speech before that doesn't work either. Maybe watch a few more videos to see if you can pick up. I will try and explain a few terms in future videos for the non Aussie viewer's

Good advice! I’m happy with my relationship with alcohol because I don’t need it. But, I really do like a nice glass or two…or three of bourbon or wine at separate times of course. ;)
On my last trip to Oz i switched to Coopers thinking it is more natural
Funny the excuses your mind will make in order to drink
As the Coopers is higher in alcohol
(But no preservatives)
That does not mean no hangover!!!
Do whatever you like we're all going to die anyway. Life is short might as well feel good while we're here
Hey Bro! thanks for watching and the comment, you are correct no one gets out alive. But if you feel good after a big night on the Piss maybe you aren't hitting it hard enough. Just check you are not making excuses to drink and that you do actually feel good poisoning yourself.
Im 5 months into no booze, just recently started attending meetings. 1 drink is too many and 100 isn't enough for me.
Spot on Bro!!! Keep it going soon you will forget all about even though it is everywhere.
Thanks for watching Hey Bro don't go too deep into it, it might grab ya.
Best thing is moderation. Just don’t get puppy drunk when you drink.
👍🏾
Quit drinking alcohol and never turn back!
Thanks Bro I am not going back to it.
I gave up drinking 4 years ago at 36 years of age.
I have no intention of ever drinking again.
It's a waste of time and a waste of life.
Good on you for having a go and wanting to do better for yourself.
Every time you have an urge to drink, just drink water or coffee.
We need water. I don't drink enough!
i already quit over a year ago. Should i start back up gradually?
Hey bro if you have done a year don't go back to its just a waste of time.
Why did you decide to stop after that last six pack?
Thanks Bro for the comment and watching. I think you are referring to when I went to get a six pack but I actually got a carton 24. I only did to celebrate the completion of the rammed earth building. So I didn't really start drinking it was a one off and after not drinking for 15 years I no I will not go back to drinking alcohol regularly it is poison and I know that and I don't enjoy the pain it gives. hope this helps.
@@offthegriddownunderaustral8814 Yes, indeed it does. Did you find it difficult to quit ?
No thanks.
Alcohol is a curse on mankind. Nothing is improved when people
" have a drink". Learn to accept yourself and life as it is.
100% Bro! it is a big waste of time, and health. Poison to be honest.
Beers ok
@@stewartcash555 Yeah, a few million drunks would agree with you.
I agree totally with u. And beer is not ok. I only drank beer but was gone to drinking 25 large cans a day a fukn hell to be living in.
@@martymartin2894 everything in moderation even moderation itself
God when u get alcohol poisoning and start dry wretching its awful. Thank God i got away from it.
Thanks Bro!!! didn't know about alcohol poisoning when I was young probably lucky when I was doing that Southern Comfort the way we did.
WHAT?
Thanks Bro thinking of putting subtitles on the vids so you can understand.
@@offthegriddownunderaustral8814 that would be helpful my man
Alcohol doesn’t make anything better.
100% Bro!!!
TMDWU
Hey Bro! you might have to spell that one out for me I don't get it.
@@offthegriddownunderaustral8814 That's must definitely what's up
@@offthegriddownunderaustral8814 that's most definitely what's up
Subtitles next time old boy barely understood more than a few words
Thanks for watching and trying. I have seen subtitle of my speech before that doesn't work either. Maybe watch a few more videos to see if you can pick up. I will try and explain a few terms in future videos for the non Aussie viewer's
Unfortunately, I hardly understood a word. A crazy dialect and without dentures😂
Sorry to hear that, All I can suggest is watch a few more of the vids and you might get used to the lingo so you can understand a bit more.
I can understand, blue, but I am a pom.😊
It was pretty clear and concise to me... 🤷🏾♂️
Worst advice ever.
Thanks for watching and commenting, more a of a story than advice Bro! My story, sorry you didn't enjoy it and get a laugh.
I could understand every word, maybe I'm a born again Australian?@@offthegriddownunderaustral8814
