I’m about to turn 55 at the end of this month, so me ancient as well. Truly appreciate giving credit to Jesus in these videos! It’s fun listening to your take on MRES, but giving it up for Jesus, is what makes me coming back for more! Stay humble, love the Lord, and carry on my friend!
Always love seeing your videos! I remember a brownie with mres when I was a kid. Don’t know if they are as good as I remember but I have to get some soon. Thanks for the videos!
Not bad, I would be happy with any of those cakes in the field. My favourite components of a US MRE are the cookies, crackers and the orange base powder. Semper fi corporal keep up the good work 🇺🇸🫡🇬🇧😉
It's a happy day when you find a pound cake in your mre. I think the apple one is my favourite. Interestimg to see your impressions on the humble pound cake. Its definitely one of the ration items thry nailed. (Thinking of the pizza slices they didn’t nail at all) The painted rock was your best find in my opinion. :) Im not sure if ive just been unlucky, but the jalapeños cheese has never been even a little bit spicy when I've had it. I don't remember ever having the bacon cheese spread, only thing that close that ive had is in the FS rats, cheese bacon and potato spread which can also be made into a soup i believe. Great video :)
I'd say that what you have here would be considered military currency. I'd probably trade my main dish for a few of those and a few coffees! Thanks MA and thank God for His promises 🙏!
I was always too scared to eat the lemon poppy seed cake. I was scared the poppy seeds would make me fail a drug test…it happened to Elaine on Seinfeld lol. Those stakes look to be from a Sportbrella, they don’t really work well
A Bacon & Cheddar Sandwich is a British classic. A bit of butter on bread with slices of Cheddar Cheese and a couple rashers. Fried in a skillet until golden brown and the cheese is very melty. Here in the States, you've made a Bacon and Cheddar Grilled Cheese. Two adds to consider: 1- A bit of Coleman's Mustard on one (one both if you're a nutter) piece(s) of bread 2- A healthy (not a relative term) amount of Branson's Pickle. Seriously, there is quite a bit of salt in this stuff. Perhaps three: C- A true Anglophile nutter you say? Marmite, on one of the toast slices (Advance nutters only)
The thing about fats and oils is that it extends the flavor. The oil allows the flavor compounds to linger on your tongue longer and so you can taste more of it.
They all looked good to me. Marble cake is the best, its made of the same dough, one takes chocolate and the other does not and you mix it up to make a marbled pattern on the tray, sometimes you add a little coffee to make a moka flavored one. But I am bias, I was a baker untill my late 20s and it as always been one of my favorite cakes, alongside wallnut honey and chocolate... Great video.
20 years ago, when I was active duty U.S.M.C., Drug tests were not very accurate. I was obsessed with lemon poppyseed pound cakes. I popped red for heroin on a drug test. They did a blood test and found that I was actually very boring... 😂
What ever happened to the fruit cake? I fondly remember them in c rations and the early MREs. I trade for them. Also, might you consider doing a video or more in conjunction with Steve1989? Looking forward to more of your videos.
I don't know if you knew it but we get rainbows (a 100% fully understood natural phenomenon that isn't in the slightest supernatural or hard to understand) because of Magic! (as in God did it). It's so dissappointing hearing ppl who other than that are actually pretty likable say such stupid things....really saddens me
Thank you god...A video from me ancient on a windy and cloudy day.. Happy to see you back my brother, as always take care and my respect to you and your family

Very cool finds. Luv the desserts. The plain cheddar is my choice. The rock came from Va lue sha . If that’s helps you under the sounding. Cheers from Seminole co. ✨✌️👍😋I lik
If you want to find super cool stuff while metal detecting, you can google and find places where battles took place in the civil war, and you can find musket-balls maybe some uniform pins, also depending on where you are at there might be abandoned military bases or sites. also consider magnet fishing, people find a lot of cool stuff! Also you should go to an rei or camp store and try some camping food out, they can have similar items to MREs for you to try and compare, great video as always!
I have found musket balls before, back when I was younger and before RUclips. I may have to try that out one of these days. I live around lots of Civil War battlefields now. TFW
Great video. I do alot of detecting here in south Florida. I found if you detect in the water you find so much more i even go as chest deep. The best thing i ever found was a two thousand dollar gold chain. Keep swinging you'll find something good.
My brother is in the British Army and the trick, he told me, is you have to heat it up first, either boil it in the bag in boiling water for 7-8 minutes or put it in the FRH with the main. I tried it that way and holy shit, it is so much softer and moister that way.
They actually come indirectly from the original supplier of the cakes. As I understand it, they produce and sell 'extra' cakes to 'the folks.' TFW, Mr. P.
In my area they had people painting rocks and hiding or laying them out in places for people to find. I'm wondering if they do that in your area too and thats what that rock is for.

The ole Feds are good at "stealing" 😅
Exactly right. At least it was a good idea for the troops this time. TFW!
In the past I felt like the MRE cakes had a mechanical taste to them. Haven't had one 8n a few years so i can't compare that taste to the newer cakes.
They all look and sound good! More choices is always a good thing! 😎👍
You got that right! TFW, Lance!
I like the marble one. Sounds amazing.
Katelyn, you know which one I liked the most. Marble wasn't bad. TFW!
I really enjoyed the introduction of the metal detector finds .. as always .. Great videos and content ..

I agree, stakes in sand do not work very well at all, for sure. TFW!
It’s true. They tested in on Mythbusters and you’ll failed for opioids. One bagel or one slice of cake would be enough
