- Hydra is a very unique floorless coaster made my Bolligerandmabillard. Coming off a jojo roll right out of the station this ride will whip you through 6 inversions overlooking Dorneys lake and Rick work. Height:105ft MPH:50

Not too high
Not too fast
Not too extreme
Rides like butrer
Looks awesome
The coaster that got me into loving roller coasters, love it.
What a unique beginning for a coaster! Looks totally intense as well!
This is the most original floorless coaster you'll find
Hydra is awesome but just can’t compete with Bizarro, Kraken, Medusa, Superman, and Dominator imo but it’s right under those in no particular order
She wastes no time 😅
It’s the least intense Floorless coaster out of the 7 I’ve done. It’s got some fun floater airtime though.
I went on this ride today. I was deathly afraid of coasters. My friends forced me on the ride. The worst part of the ride is the line and boarding the train. As soon as u go through that opening inversion, u will love it, and want more. The chainlift doesn’t feel like an eternity, in fact, it was only like 15 seconds, and the drop was felt like a kitty ride. After that first inversion, the rest of the inversions will feel amazing. You can do it!
Edit: forgot to add that I ended up loving it
Have you tried any other coasters at dorney?
@@htk_711same person, just on a different account lol. Yes, i ended up going on talon, possessed, and lucky me, Steel Force, all I had to do was get on hydra, and I now go on everything
Exactly how I felt at first. After Hydra I went on basically every other coaster. Did not disappoint!
Thank you im in the dorney parking lot watching this because im scared but this made me feel better
@@htk_711 sorry for late response. After hydra, I went on everything in the park, and loved all of them as well
the beginning roll is so awesome
Yup. Check out our 5K version of the front row 🥃
this is such a good ride
A B&M Floorless with a straight down drop? Now that’s unique
This ride is so perfect omg
I the biggest roller coaster I had been on before this was thunder hawk in the same park (would recommend btw) but it got me into loving coasters perfect first ride lacks airtime however but would advise anyone looking to get into coasters that is still afraid to have this as their first ride
This is awesome. Thanks for sharing
This is a cool layout
I remember when it was a vibrant green. I'll have to to try and return this year.
Thunderhawk and Hydra have to be my top two to ride when I go
SAME
Great ride! Just wish it was a little smoother.
That drop is insane
By far the oddest B&M out there. I think its the only floorless B&M that doesn't have a loop and one of the few B&Ms that don't have a loop.
but most wing coasters don’t have a loop, and there are quite alot of those aswell as dive coasters
hey just asking but have you ever made a POV on Steel Eel at Seaworld San Antonio?
Never been to Texas yet. Should be there this year!
This was my first ride
this was my first upside down ride
Me and my seven year old cousin went on it yesterday two times and im ten
You spelled Bolliger And Mabillard in the description wrong.
no they never
This is the first roller coaster I ever got on, because the guy was cool, and let me slide even though I was a bit too short. Six Flags GA is my homepark tho and I haven't been back here since
Great Adventure is my home park as well🥃
@@EastCoasters it’s a badass park
We just need better employees there, then it’s perfect 🙌🏽
@@EastCoasters you ain’t wrong, the app wait times are not accurate at all either I feel like
r u talking about Gadv or Gam, cuz GA could be 1 of those 2
How is this ride? I’ve heard it’s unbearably roughly lately?
It’s not unbearably rough, but it has a pretty significant rattle to it🤷🏻♂️
@@EastCoasters where is the most pleasant seat or row? Front looks so shakey and I normally prefer the back...
@@JSInOrbit On this ride the back is way smoother.🤌🏽
Is this rough?
It’s a tad rough yes.🤌🏽
i really wanna lose my fear of roller coasters, any tips?
honestly just get on the coasters 😭 that’s the best advice i can give. the worst part about roller coasters would probably are the adrenaline that you get from standing in the lines but once you’re in the seat and it starts moving it’ll be fun i promise
do you get the stomach feeling
This looks like an ok ride but having replaced one of my favorite wooden coasters ever... I'll never be ok with it. Haven't been back to the park since this was built and Hercules was taken down.
I miss Hercules so much! Definitely would take a retrack version of that then Hydra but at least they put something🤌🏽
RMC I wish
Same. They had options, they just...demolished it. It's not this paid homage by going off down by the water and making that wild turn. They could've put this over where the now gone stinger and possesed are at the time. Some areas of Hercules could've easily been rebuilt to avoid any valleying and the trim brakes were so on it wasn't even 1/2 as rough as Thunderhawk, yet they can't even seem to retrack the latter correctly. I do hope Dorney gets the shuttle coaster from Gravity Group, would work to finally have a 2nd wooden coaster again, and the shuttle aspect would make it pretty unique even if 1 exists (I thought it'd be 2 but the fun spot getting an RMC axed that most likely). I hope the delay is them designing it to be bigger though, no reason to not have it be a bit larger in height, speed, and length over one they had to shove into a small park with limited space versus that whole area leftover from former dinosaurs alive and stinger. Not going back until they built it or something spectactular and not generic. Haven't been back since they built Hydra, would rather go to SFNE only Hydra is better if I am to go to a park that takes a few hours drive versus my home one.
rode front seat and it was pretty bumpy!!
Yeah the first ever roller coaster I’ve been on. Didn’t scream cause I didn’t know you had to scream.
same
today on my first coaster/ hydra i didnt scream, i cried
I’m about 15 days I will be riding this
Is it scary, I lost a bet to my friends and now have to go on this ride next year😢
i heard its not too scary and a good first ride for anyone scared, im about to ride it ill let you know how it goes
@@ladybugfurby thx 🙏
it’s so much fun i was scared but i did it 6 times today the jojo roll is the best part and they take your picture
I wan at to ride this but I probably never will cause I’ve never been there I go to kings island it’s only 20 minutes away
Bruh why is there so many famous people going to dorny park
Read it
This is what Great Adventure needs to replace 40 year old painted Chang.
We have Bizarro which is a floorless coaster
@@EastCoasters yes but Bizarro no way smooth like this - I was talking about green lantern
@@louis5855 yeah Hydra is known to be pretty rough, I like Green Lantern over it
United States 🇺🇸
Yes. This is the United States. We are aware
This coaster does nothing for me. My oldest son loves it, but I’ll take Talon or Steel Force over this any day of the week.
