The housing market has gone up by $100,000 in less then 4 years 😢. Electricity has doubled, gas has doubled, and groceries have almost tripled. Rent has almost quadrupled. A person making 100k a year now is equivalent to 60k in less then 4 years as well. I want to go home as well 😩

I left Jax in ‘69 to go in the service. Got back last year for the first time. All the concrete and cheap-ass quality housing really suck. Skedaddled to South Ohio on 89 acres. I can plow, grow, and breathe. All the neighbors (some from miles away) dropped by to welcome me and see if there was anything they could do to help me get settled. Seems like home. I can let the rest of the world pass by. Don’t need much more than my horse, a few cows, chickens, my dogs and the neighbors that are rapidly becoming friends. They can have the rest of it.
Being a landlord has a lot of overhead. And the government is picking them apart. Since the workforce is shrinking they got to get more taxes, way to do that is raise property taxes. Also insurance companies are going belly-up left and right and lot of them are just shutting down and cashing out and loading their pockets up with your money that you've been paying into insurance. So now the landlords have to pay for the uprise of cost of insurance for their property especially rental property. Utilities are going up. Some rental properties have that included in the cost of the rent, so therefore you got rent raises. Landlords have to raise the rent or they lose their property to the thievin taxman. They couldn't do it in Maui that's why they went ahead and butchered all those people with new Laser Technology. There are videos of driving through where all the cars were attacked with people in them melted the cars,few feet away untouched mailboxes and vegetation.
It's not just east, west and gulf coast major cities where rent and home prices are getting out of control. I'm from west central Wisconsin where 10 years ago rent and home prices were dirt cheap compared to everywhere else. They have now become completely unaffordable because of rich real estate and property developers that have come in and are buying every bit of land they can and putting up apartment complex's, duplex's and single family homes that are priced so high its insane. I bought my house outside of town 6 years ago to get away from the city and the city has gotten closer to me every year. Time to sell and move.

Prior to rona I used to get breakfast and coffee from the local starbucks every morning, eat out at lunch and take the family out at least twice a week to dinner. Now, post rona and the high cost of goods, I actually started budgeting. I eat breakfast at home, take my lunch with me and eat out once a month with the family. Everything just got so expensive.

I left Jax in ‘69 to go in the service. Got back last year for the first time. All the concrete and cheap-ass quality housing really suck. Skedaddled to South Ohio on 89 acres. I can plow, grow, and breathe. All the neighbors (some from miles away) dropped by to welcome me and see if there was anything they could do to help me get settled. Seems like home. I can let the rest of the world pass by. Don’t need much more than my horse, a few cows, chickens, my dogs and the neighbors that are rapidly becoming friends. They can have the rest of it.

Being a landlord has a lot of overhead. And the government is picking them apart. Since the workforce is shrinking they got to get more taxes, way to do that is raise property taxes. Also insurance companies are going belly-up left and right and lot of them are just shutting down and cashing out and loading their pockets up with your money that you've been paying into insurance. So now the landlords have to pay for the uprise of cost of insurance for their property especially rental property. Utilities are going up. Some rental properties have that included in the cost of the rent, so therefore you got rent raises. Landlords have to raise the rent or they lose their property to the thievin taxman. They couldn't do it in Maui that's why they went ahead and butchered all those people with new Laser Technology. There are videos of driving through where all the cars were attacked with people in them melted the cars,few feet away untouched mailboxes and vegetation.
It's not just east, west and gulf coast major cities where rent and home prices are getting out of control. I'm from west central Wisconsin where 10 years ago rent and home prices were dirt cheap compared to everywhere else. They have now become completely unaffordable because of rich real estate and property developers that have come in and are buying every bit of land they can and putting up apartment complex's, duplex's and single family homes that are priced so high its insane. I bought my house outside of town 6 years ago to get away from the city and the city has gotten closer to me every year. Time to sell and move.

The 8 mil contracts were deals for the record companies. For Oliver Anthony Music it's just getting screwed. If he's being offered 8 mil then the label is betting on over 16 mil profits on him. And they'll try to nickel and dime as much of the 8 mil away as they could possibly justify.

I'm a software developer, and I make good money. Prior to rona I used to get breakfast and coffee from the local starbucks every morning, eat out at lunch and take the family out at least twice a week to dinner. Now, post rona and the high cost of goods, I actually started budgeting. I eat breakfast at home, take my lunch with me and eat out once a month with the family. Everything just got so expensive.

It's also because people are leaving high tax states & buying up land in low tax states, supply is not meeting demand and those that can buy in bulk know they can sit on the property & sell for a profit when demand is higher. If taxes and other laws & regulations werent so strict for owners and loose for criminals people wouldn't leave those states and there wouldn't be so much demand leading to lower housing prices. Some of these things have been happening for many many years. This is nothing new. It is just coming to light and I am sure it is a small fraction. But I can assure you there is a lot more stuff going on that you may find out about much later or never. In the US and Across the world. On the home prices of homes in FL it is insane. I used to pay 1000 a month for a 3/2 and that same apartment now is 2300 a month. I make good money but with these prices no wonder so many are homeless now.
