'No future' from the mouth of an unqualified history teacher who knows full well that Punk originated in the US and was imported to the UK by a man he despises (Malcolm McLaren) The whole interview resembles a parents night for passive aggressive toddlers.
they are just a rock n roll band , relax, punk is made up by the media
Just having some banter with the Aussie media good fun interview I think
Most surreal gig i ever went to(Glasgow). Thought it would be full of students, nope,i was one of the youngest there(was 9yrs old the first time they were around),old punks with extensions sewn into to there tartan drainpipes, half mohawks as baldness was taking over, jumping up and down on a sea of specs, and to top it off, some guy grabbed me by the ankle as he tried to find his FALSE TEETH!!! Great night though....
I was there too. Fukin amazing!❤
You could tell the press the whole interview was trying to antagonise the band and was making sarcastic comments then wonder why the band replies with the same sarcastic tone to the press 😎✌️
This video made me realize that John Lydon and Johnny Rotten are two different people lol
😄.
@@ScottishTeeVee How do you put emojis onto YT?
If you look closely they're not.
Rookie camera work and stupid questions; Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!
😂 He still smokes like a trooper. He don’t give a f
Reminds me of Jah Wobble with PiL. "Why don't you ask a sensible question?"
Steve is there but at the same time not there
Seen them twice after waiting years......worth it though. Best band ever!
I went to the Glasgow gig on the re-union tour 96,97 ,it was good but strangely i wish i had never went.It seemed to destroy any credibility they had for me
Must be hard for Johnny, being so much more intelligent than the rest of the band.
Congratulations on one of the most uneducated comments ever.
Glenn's pretty smart too. Another reason is his middle class ideals clashed with Lydons working class ego & was fired from the Pistols...
@@darania1 Someone read Das Kapital... 🙄
@badseyborbon2493 As Stalin once said you can't beat a bit of Karl Marx in the morning..!
@@darania1 I prefer gin and weetos
Hard workin men who deserved to be paid for the riches they brought to our lives
Idiotic Questions By The Press . Good On John Squashing Them . 👌🏼👍🏼
It's not really true that dinosaur rock was all there was; it may have been on the rise in the commercial market, but the 60's produced so many great, original ,bands, - I think ,that much like the social movement that went with it, - the nasty shock was the degree of the regression.
Steve Jones was always my favorite Pistol, and Paul Cook, were there for the money, they were all about the payday, Johnny was just a glory hog and they needed Glen because he could play
No no Johnny was quite good at selling butter 🤷🏻♂️ quite the anarchist 😁😁
I liked Glen too though.
@@scottie74 not to mention a Trump supporter.
@@helenbartoszek243 You don't get it, do you?
He identified with the hundred million ordinary Americans who supported Trump, and not the rich elites in showbusiness who didn't.
Get that in your thick head.
@@tomcarl8021 What did Trump do for the ordinary people? Did he bring in national health care like we have in Australia ,NZ, UK and Europe? Did he give the people paid holidays, paid sick days, maternity and paternity leave? Trump is one of the rich elite and the dickhead is still carrying on about the election. Boohoo! If he was all about the people then he would accept their decision that the people did not want him as President anymore. Not to mention January 6th. I bet Lydon is spewing he didn't keep his UK citizenship as it would cost him nothing to look after his wife.
I gotta say, 'What do you think about Rod Stewarts latest work' was hilarious hahaha. I never knew Skunk Anansie was support on that tour. Great choice.
lydon is well clever!!!
Think they had a sponsorship deal with Benson and hedges
Some of the press seem a bit pretentious...and intimidated. Lol
Interviewers here snowflakes before the term snowflake was a thing
@9:50. "It's not about wankers rewriting history for us". Are you listening Danny Boyle?
Said he would never do it because he would never repeat himself….
Nevermind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols...fantastic album. And no band will top them, period 💯 shame I didn't exist yet to see them 😂
Man Steve looks like shit. He was using at this point right? Also man the band aged so damn fast over the next ten years. When “Filth and the Fury” came out, which is a great Docu they look totally different. Like they aged decades in that period of just ten years. Especially John.
17:09 - 17:15: What is the question here?
Something like 'How long did it take to prepare the sperm sandwich that Glen Matlock ate?' Steve allegedly spadged in a sandwich which Glen (likely unknowingly) then ate.
Always on top of the interview...interesting but why does he always get stupid questions
Glen looks like that kid your mom invited to your party…. But you didn’t want him there!!
I'm a journalist myself and i think the whole "cashing in, selling out" angle that most of these reporters are going for is very tiresome, boring. These guys hadn't played together for 19 years! Selling out would have been doing tour after tour during that time. Even if money was a motivation for doing these gigs it doesn't fucking matter. Johnny could tell these reporters what poverty looks like that's for sure, that's for sure
Never mind the Sex Pistols, we are the bollox.
Jonesy looks happy!
I saw them on that tour in London with Iggy,Buzzcocks ,Stiff Little Fingers ana Tool
🏴
You were lucky to have seen them and all the other bands
@@ScottishTeeVee I was born in 72 so 4 in 76 I tick off 4 big boxes that day! Couldn't name a single Tool song, they seemed a bit metal for that bill. Would of been better to get a local unsigned punk band instead. Great day outside at Finsbury Park though 😀🏴
@@PUNKinDRUBLIC72 I'm with you Stosh, I ain't got a clue about tool, could not name one song. Thanks for being here 😎
