Jim's always been seen as this goofy character, especially in his younger days at eliteFTS. However, I've noticed he really focuses on patience. He preaches patience, but more importantly he showed patience during his PL career. If you compare his powerlofting meets compared to others you will see that. Most people compete 2.5x a year, whereas Jim's comp record was about 1x a year. He competed less often, because he had the patience to spend more time slowly building, and he STILL hit a 1K lbs Squat. Slow and patient is key.
I don't think you get that jim wasn't all about powerlifting , more overall athleticism and long term progress etc . Jim learned he didn't wana be a fat bloat that couldn't do anything outside the gym like most powerlifters . There's a point where you can get in your own way an get to big . You'll notice all the top guys can't do anything outside of lifting . They run up a set of stadium they have a heart attack or tear a quad . Kind of like body builders you can get big for nothing
Jim even said he wouldn't even train like a powerlifter if he could go back an know what be knows today. There's a point where to much of it gets in the way of overall fitness .
Im weak as fuck at 30 and i done greyskull and stalled on my overhead press, might do 5/3/1
Holy sh!t this podcast just pr'd! More commercials than I've ever heard before on any podcast. Unf#cking believable.
Awesome!

Thank you 🙏🏼
The fact that Jim had to choose every word is a little disappointing. Obese people are fat - that's it.
