    Thanks for the review. Bought this for my dad and he has taken to it like a duck to water. It's why the FE stands for Family Edition to me. Being the tech savvy one in the family, i govern all the tech in the house, and i find that the FE range is perfect for those who want a premium tier device and don't nitpick over inconsequential things, like many in the comments section are weirdly doing (when they have no intention to buy or understand the product).
    After trade in and discounts, it's a no-brainer. The screen is good, it works smoothly, audio is great, photos look great, it's from a reputable brand that will support the device for years to come. Nothing to moan about all things considered.

      The Exynos 2200 in S23 fe is optimized than last year S22 series well that the least samsung can do. And also next year Galaxy and Pixel will be the Smartest SMARTPHONE because the exynos and tensor are more on AI. And having a million of antutu score is more than enough if you’re just an average user.

    My take on Exynos: I don't mind it on a device like this. In the hate, we overexaggerate the flaws of the Exynos chip. It is a capable chip.
    My issue is when they release both variants - Exynos and Qualcomm. If one is clearly better than the other, then you are giving the middle finger to all your customers that are forced to buy the less capable chip. Worse of all, they often do not compensate by charging less. You pay the same, sometimes even more, for less of a smartphone.

    • @reziee5897
      @reziee5897 Год назад +3

      Well if they only use EXYNOS, people will not compare it to SD. Just like Google Pixel they only used their own chip which is Tensor.

    • @matthewsjardine
      @matthewsjardine Год назад +1

      @reziee5897 Indeed. That would be more respectful to their buyers than offering a different variant in different markets.
      If Samsung returns to the two variants, reviewers really should get into the habit of clearly mentioning which one they are reviewing. It is informing the buyer about what they are actually getting, and it might be enough to shame Samsung into one global variant.

    • @reziee5897
      @reziee5897 Год назад

      @@matthewsjardine tech reviewers like to do comparison because of content. 😀 Let see what the hamming bird(former name of exynos) can do next year for their S24 I heard a lot that their chip is focusing on AI.

    • @matthewsjardine
      @matthewsjardine Год назад

      @reziee5897 You make an interesting point. For the most part, we carry more processing power in our pockets than most people will ever use. Purpose built hardware may be the next big step.
      Samsung have been replicating Google features lately. Object Eraser and Bixby Text Call are just two examples. An AI first approach could be interesting from Samsung. I guess we will have to see.

    Well I was shocked when I saw that you’re using Galaxy S23 Ultra for this video. The Quality is 🌌 and btw I don’t complaint about exynos maybe because mostly our samsung devices has exynos it’s working fine not to mention my old SNote10+ exynos variant still doing fine in day to day I just don’t recommend it for heavy gaming and 3-4 years old now, my mom still using it coz of beautiful display.

    “People buying this phone probably aren’t focused on design too much”? Yeah, we are all grannies. Not everyone has thousands laying around for a phone, most of us just want the best bang for buck. Most of reviewers just throw it under the rug that if you are buying this, you must be poor and must not care about good things. Why not give an honest review of how it feels etc.

    And also for a hard-core gamer who tends to play high-graphical games a lot & can't afford to replace his phone every single year, I came to conclusion that the Xiaomi 13T Pro is a way more practical choice to go with at this price point

    The screen is too big to me, but the design I like, it is fast, the cameras work well.
    Bezels? - my iphone 12 pro has also massive bezels...
    I got mine for 620 dollars in Ghana, got a nice siliconw cover amd buds as well for free. These two items worth of 130 dollars. I am happy with this device and after IOS I feel more free and the functions, tricks, features are practical, nice.
    I checked other phones too, but I will never have Xiaomi again, asmy mi9 died after a year of usage.

Long before the S23 FE rumors started, I was looking to replace my S20 FE 5G for a Galaxy S23+. The prices here in Brazil were dropping almost to the point I was able to buy one. Then this week the S23 FE was launched and as expected, all other phones went up in price. Even if the S23 FE drops in price, I am almost convinced that the right model for me is a Galaxy S23+, not because it has a Snapdragon processor but because the S23 FE has some design choices I did not like.

    Good review, but I have a question
    Should I upgrade from my S21 FE? I really want a better camera, but more than that, a better chipset than Snapdragon 888, because on S21 FE is a bit poorly optimized after One UI 5

      I don't think this is much of an upgrade. I have the S21 FE and I am quite happy with it. What do you dislike? If you really want to upgrade look somewhere else. Xiaomi 13 and S23 are sick.

    I have an A51 that's asking for retirement, specially the battery. I want something a bit faster than the A5x series but spending 1000€ on a damn S23+ it's too much when the battery will be ruined after 2 or 3 years. That's where the 23fe should come in. But either they come out really cheap or, i feel, there's no point. And btw.... those bezels. They're terrible. Can't get it why they keep doing that. The A51 is a 3yr old phone, mid level phone, and the bezels are half the thickness of the s23fe's. They're even thinner than the regular S23's!!

    My Exynos S22U was a dumpster-diving wreck, and it was shameful of Samsung to release that. Thankfully, Samsung got punished for this incompetence and lost the billion-dollar Qualcomm contract. This shock to the system meant they cancelled the E2300 and instead did some much-needed work to improve what was a disastrous node and chip.
    I am glad to hear that it has been fixed, but this is not praiseworthy; this is what we should have had 18 months ago. So, although I get you are Samsung affiliated, the take here is that Samsung has fixed it, not anything inspiring.
    As for the S23FE, it's solid in a crowded market and just another choice for Samsung fans. It certainly would not be my first choice at the UK starting price of £599, and in any case, it isn't released here until Dec 8.

    I'll never choose Apple as I can't stand that ugly notch. As for performance, how much do you need anyway? The Exynos 2200 has been tweaked and this one has a larger vapor cooling chamber. You can play Honkai star rail and other games like Genshin Impact need some optimization but everything else like COD, PUBG, and BGMI will run just fine. The bezels are a tad thicker but it is better than an ugly notch. In Jan, you'll have the Iqoo 12, Vivo, and a plethora of other Android phones. This one here? A good buy at 45k but anything more is overpriced. I'd get it for the telephoto.
