In the new Mario kart games, you can’t really do any crazy shortcuts because of lakitu. You have a set path to race in, and the shortcuts like the mushroom gorge gap jump is watered down. It’s unfortunate that the oh can’t do the mountain wall shortcut.

I have some future Ultra shortcut ideas Some will be very glitchy. Some not too much. But that's all ideas. I wish my Wii wasn't broke, otherwise, this would be my first time playing my favorite game. I hope to pull of some craziness in the future when I can play this I'll try to pull of TAS strats Ones that look impossible, I'll find a way around Rapid Fire or any trick humanly impossible.

To get a lot of air, lightweight characters are used, usually in the quicker, the lightest vehicle. You know characters like baby Mario, koopa, etc. lightweights get much more air but have less speed

The reason they glitch over to the side is to skip the first checkpoint, which allows the lap to count during the shortcut

This is why MKWii is the best in the Mario Kart series, the only other rival being MK64
MKDS is pretty good too. Snaking is underrated in difficulty
DS and MK8 are up there too, and even DD and mk7 are good, just not played much today. Only “bad” ones are SMK and MKSS

the setup at the start of maple treeway doesnt even save time at all?

This is purely the world records from a few years back. While all of these are possible in Grand Prix mode, they will not work online in CTGP
