My philosopher, you just taught me something! I had no idea that Bob Marley lived in Westmoreland back in the 1970’s! You’ve become teacher as well my philosopher! Maximum Respect!
Thank you! I was in Negril in December and I was trying to find this place in Little Bay . . . and all the taxi drivers were telling me I was crazy! Ya deserve 50 thousand followers.
My aunty built the house on the right as you walk to the spring. I remember the spring smelling like soap. She built it when I was 9 years old as it was cheaper to build a house then for the whole family to stay in a. Resort for 6 weeks, this 20 years ago. I remember Hubert he made me crab curry, and his brother Fabian was my aunties friend. My mum befriended s man called cudge, We never went back after the hurricane. I remember we forgot we were flying home and left all of our clothes there. I’d love to go back, so many happy memories. I made so many friends when I was there. If any one sees me and recognises my story, reach out I’m back in JA soon!
Great content as usual.. Visited it when it was still standing.. Pity dem couldn't preserve it..that's the doorstep Bob Marley wrote "three little birds"..Happy earthday to the king..
When we stayed at that house back in 2005 it was pretty beaten up by a recent hurricane but was actually marked with digits and signs all over, as a preparation to be deconstructed and put back together somewhere else as a museum. I wonder what happened to that plan, and it really is a shame that it wasnt preserved in one way or another. It was a lovely house and I'm very happy that I got to see it and even live in it for a week or two.
Such an awesome view from the veranda. What? A two story building must have provided the most beautiful views . Not surprised that Bob had a home in Westmoreland. His mother was Cidella Malcolm before she got married. Most of the Malcolm’s came out of Westmoreland and St. Elizabeth. He had roots there. I personally would like to know more about his Grandfather because of the relationship to my family. Cidella used to be In Negril a lot. The family had to have roots there- as so many of us who belong to the Malcolm Family. Non should be named one of Jamaica’s hero. He deserves it. Happy Earth Strong family. 🇯🇲🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🎁❤️🎂🎁🌺💕🇯🇲🙏🏿🙏🏿🎉💕🎁🎁🎂🎂❤️🎧🎧🇯🇲
My whife and I spent a week or two in that house back in early 2005 along with Fabian Anderson, brother of Esther Anderson, who he claimed was the owner at that time. It was in pretty bad condition after the hurricane, but good enough for us to sleep on the second floor. We really enjoyed the place and the people in Little Bay, and I would love to see pictures or film from when the house was still standing. Please let me know if you know where i can find it.
I will look through photos and see if I have anything worth uploading, and post a link here if i do. It made me sad to learn that the house is gone, it was lovely. I will be forever gratefull that Fabian invited us to stay with him at the place. It seems like he might not be an "official" sibling of Esther, but he left us no reason to doubt his story. Little Bay will stay in my heart as long as I live. I miss the people as well as the place. It's well worth a visit!
