After learning about the nuclear arms race in school, it's amazing how much more comprehensive this 20 minute video is compared to weeks learning about it then!

@@Remixersoloman Comparing with the schooling I had in germany: This one has no pacing issues. Back then, the teacher also had everyone read a paragraph or two about a longer text, some people were just plain shit to listen to or sucked at reading, which made following it more painful.
Also someone always had to ask questions, often times dumb ones, slowing everything down even more.
Then there was interruptions where we had to write dome some stuff that he wrote onto the blackboard (or used an overhead projector to show).
That way I think these videos do give you more information in 20 minutes than we back then had in, say, 8 hours. The question, however, is which one conveyed deeper knowledge, and knowledge which sticks longer. I actually kind of think it's a video like this, since I watch it because I am interested in it and the information is compressed nicely without needless interrupts.
On the other hand, there is no teacher right now to ask and clarify things.

Your inability to sit through something you find boring and get important details from it, or be patient for questions, doesn't mean this short video provides more education value. The school lesson certainly had more details than this short overview video has, you just didn't care to listen for them.

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future , gas and food prices rising daily . We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere , we are finding it impossible to replace it . We can get by , but cant seem to get ahead . My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis , 40years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for
I think it's especially difficult for retirees and near retirees , I know to focus on the long term but the anxiety when you're supposed to be retiring in 3years is super exhausting , I've been looking into hiring a market expert as well

Chrome Dome was actually a huge sucess. With the exception of a few cases, Chrome Dome kept the Soviets on edge at all times, restricting them from firing nukes, it made the stakes too high for both countries. Which was probably for the best considering no one would fire a nuke with the consequences awaiting.

Operation Chrome Dome had good intentions in theory, but nearly blowing up your own country multiple times over, plus the confusion with thinking it was actually the Soviets that did it, is so unimaginably irresponsible.

I saw people complaining about the new guy and I just don’t understand why. The voice is different, I get it. But look at how many videos have been released lately. This clearly wasn’t a move of laziness, it was done to make more content. I for one am a fan

There’s youtubers like reallifelore or many others that gather a team to create videos but they ALWAYS narrate their own videos to keep up with their brand. Jake just wants to automate his channel for he won’t have to work on it. The charm of this channel was based on jake and him not working on it will just end up losing his channels identity
