In NCT there are Chinese, Japanese, from Thailand, USA, Canada, members .....❤

NCT is a very diverse in terms of nationality. Members come from Korea,Thailand,Canada, China, Japan and the US. Some of the korean members have also done studying abroad so they are fluent in multiple different languages as well. The foreign members learn korean after they arriving in korea to become kpop idols.
This is very common for idols who are foreigners.
I really liked this reaction. Loving the nct content. If you can, please check out "everything nct dream and their dorm life"😊

everyone in nct can speak korean, but some member are of chinese descent, or japanese, thai, american, canadian- one member even speaks german. so they’re multilingual 😭 so sometimes they mess up and alot of these videos were from when they first debuted and (I assume) the non-korean members were still learning korean.
heres all the languages each of them speak:
taeyong (korean): korean, his japanese is pretty good and his english is good and keeps improving.
    taeil (korean): korean
johnny (korean but from america): korean, english, and I think he can speak a little bit of spanish
    Yuta (japanese): japanese, korean
    kun (chinese): chinese/mandarin, korean
    doyoung (korean): korean
ten (thai): thai, english, korean, mandarin/chinese
jaehyun (korean but lived in america for a few years): korean, english
winwin (chinese): wenzhounses, mandarin/chinese, korean, japanese
    jungwoo (korean): korean
mark (korean but from canada): english, korean
xiaojun (chinese) cantonese, mandarin/chinese, korean, english
hendery (macanese): cantonese, mandarin/chinese, korean, english
    renjun (chinese): korean, chinese/mandarin
    jeno (korean): korean
    haechan (korean): korean
    jaemin (korean): korean
yangyang (tawianese but he went to study in germany): chinese/mandarin, english, german, korean, and a little bit of spanish
chenle (chinese): chinese/mandarin, korean, and hes pretty good at english
    jisung (korean): korean
and then all the NCT WISH members speak korean & japanese as far as I know!
also most nct members understand english well and know a few phrases.
you should definitely watch: ruclips.net/video/DXy0fDv5bo8/видео.htmlsi=mpL3PQ37N5DtJHom if you wanna see them struggling from being multilingual lmaooo

3:08 it’s a game where you have to put emphasis on each word/character
for example they give you a word or sentence like: “the fire truck is red”
    and it would be like
    “THE fire truck is red”
    “the FIRE truck is red”
“the fire TRUCK is red” etc 👍

Nct is the most diverse K-pop group in terms of the members nationalities
    5:51 it’s just a Korean tongue twister

  • @coolgirl312
    @coolgirl312 3 месяца назад +4

So in general, foreign K-pop idols do speak Korean and it is part of their training to receive Korean lessons. Some people pick up languages faster than others. Usually by debut the foreign members can speak Korean well enough to hold basic conversations. There are come exceptions where a foreign trainee happens to fit the group their producing well so they debut them much sooner even if they’re not quite fluent in Korean yet. Chenle is an example of this, he was basically put in to NCT Dream a few months after starting training so he spoke very little in the beginning. This is actually pretty common to see in a lot of idol groups, the foreign members tend to be a lot quieter on variety shows at the start of their career but slowly warm up and become more outgoing as they grow more comfortable with the language.
Also, a lot of these types of games tend to make it seem like they can’t speak Korean well because it often involves words they don’t typically use in every day language. Like in the beginning when Chenle didn’t know “Ruler” or “Shadow” because it’s not something that comes up in everyday conversations.
Keep in mind, most of these clips are them playing Korean word games and took place early on like 2016-2017.

5:53 It's a game in which the person has to say word/phrase, emphasizing each syllable and always repeating the word/phrase (in this case they are doing it with their names)
The aim is to do it very quickly too
    for example Nakamoto Yuta
    NAkamoto yuta
    naKAmoto yuta
    nakaMOto yuta
    nakamoTO yuta
    nakamoto YUta
    nakamoto yuTA

7:43 The charades game from Weekly Idol, if I recall correctly, they were split into foreigners and koreans. Foreigners described the word and the Koreans were guessing the answers.
Mark (Canada) and Johnny (USA) were born overseas and grew up there but are of Korean descent. They don't really understand some local games or slang hence the "???" expressions. The rest of the foreign members are made up of Japanese, Chinese or Thai nationalities/ethnicities.
0:50 Chenle (left) had a very short training period (2mths) before debut and was still expanding his Korean vocabulary. At the time of this video he was maybe just in his 2nd year in Korea.

They all can speak korean and know the language, but its a matter of how well/large vocabulary. I can tell you words in english that other native english speakers usually don't know, so a native korean can even more easily tell you words that someone who learned korean as an adult wouldn't know. Some members come from japan, some from china, thailand, etc.

For the game it looks like they hit each plural word over and over again. For example, you use the word banana " BA-na -na, ba-NA-na, ba-na-NA. Hopefully this helps you to understand it

All of the foreign members have learned Korean or are currently being taught Korean (I think its just Wish that is probably still taking classes but idk) but not everyone is fluent to the point of sounding native. There are some words, phrases/sayings that some members don't know (especially in the earlier days, most of the foreign members are quite comfortable speaking Korean now) so games where they need to guess words or times when they have to talk about an uncommon subject can be difficult. For example, if you ever had a foreign classmate in school. They speak and understand English well but occasionally they might ask what something means (this is not every case obviously).

Ok so basically taeil, taeyong, doyoung, jaehyun, jungwoo, jeno, haechan, jaemin, jisung are hall Korean and were born and raised there, hanse they have no trouble speaking it (for the most part) then there is Johnny who is American and mark who is Canadian so their native language is English so even though they’re fluent it is still not their first language so they do struggle with it sometimes, then yuta is Japanese, he is also fluent in Korean though, and ten is Thai but again fluent in Korean too, is from Taiwan but I still also fluent in Korean, then we have kun, winwin, Lucas, xiaojun, Hendery, renjun, chenle who are all of Chinese origin but are also all fluent in Korean, so what we’ve established is that they all speak Korean but they come from various countries so some (or most) of the members have a few moments where they struggle with Korean since it isn’t their first language

NCT has members from China, Japan, America, Canada, Thailand, Taiwan.
NCT 127 has Yuta being japanese, Mark canadian and Johnny american.
NCT DREAM has again Mark but also 2 chinese members being Chenle and Renjun.
WAYV has mainly chinese members, 1 taiwanese and 1 thai member.
NCT WISH has mainly japanese members, the other 2 are korean.
All if the clips are from early on and ALOT of WinWin hehe. He debuted in the korean unit as a chinese dude.
He is now in WAYV. Him and Chenle and Lucas shared the same problem. Also Mark but he was pretty much fluent and has someone else in the group to translate(Johnny) not in DREAM tho.
In Dream Chenle atleast has Renjun. They are chinese and Renjun is known for being better at korean than the korean members sometimes :"D
In WAYV there is no korean member so the languages spoken are mandarin(China,Taiwan) and cantonese(Honng Kong). But their best speaker would be Ten. He is one of the members that debuted first with "The 7th Sense". The main thing he might struggle with are slang or puns and such.
Which is understandable sometimes even I don't understand puns in my language 🤷‍♀️
