I have an 04 Honda CRV AWD that is now doing the exact same thing replacing the breather intake tube can't get above 2800 RPM and the engine starts going into limp mode.
There's no power going to the switch if it's not plugged in and the real reason is the notes head gasket as bad and eating a ton of oil so it would lose pressure
Also I believe in video two I tested the continuity of the switch and found it to be good. Still replaced the whole assembly incase. I don't exactly remember as it was a while back but I appreciate the insight.
I have the same problem on my Honda Civic EX 2002, I'm not leaking or burning oil and I get the same code also, debating to buy an new VTEC solenoid or maybe the oil pressure switch
@@HoustonSpeedFreaks I liked how you showed how to test the pressure switch, so ama do that and see and if that's good then I'll order the solenoid and hopefully everything is good. I did an oil and tranny fluid change yesterday and it helped some. Runs more smoothly but still have the code
@@HoustonSpeedFreaks so I did the volt text and I'm getting 11.7 coming from the switch(same place where you tested it) so I bought the solenoid cost around 60$, so gotta wait a week lol but after that *keeping my fingers crossed* things go great and I get my VTEC back lol then turn around and sell the car lol
So I'm having the same problems right now with the 2001 Honda accord it's at 240,000 miles on it never had any big problems with it I noticed I needed oil about two weeks ago same exact story went to go to Jiffy Lube they put oil in the car and then two weeks later VTEC system failure shows up on the codes multiple misfires so I changed the spark plugs and wires was going to buy the switch just now that's why I looked up your video because I was going to find the switch however yesterday my car won't even stay on it turns on and then it turns off so after seeing your video I'm like hold up I might not have oil in the car so I check I have minimum hardly any oil so I'm gonna put oil in the engine to see if a that helps but I'm hoping it's not locking already
It could be time for a new engine, my engine ended having a blown head gasket so it wasn't the healthiest of motors. And if it's consuming that much oil there is definitely a problem
Check to see if your getting around 12 volts to the signal wire and oil pressure switch on the solenoid with the key in the on position if you are check your oil level.
Hell yeah man sounds close to my prelude build but I'm on a fully built H22a1 precision 6766 Turbo with a lot of goodies I need to start assembling the car.
@@HoustonSpeedFreaks it doesn't leak any oil or anything levels are fine! Idk if it sensor or what! But my mechanic just keeps replacing the solenoid, I finally got it inspected (damn code was stopping me) as soon as I left the inspection place came back on!!

@@yung.letuce I’m stressed I already put a lot in this thing. My problem was I had a bad leak, found out it was my V-TEC solenoid. I just replaced the whole thing. Now I have a “check engine “ light. I really don’t know what to do next?
I've only had the car for about a month so I'm not sure what previous owner was running obviously first thing I did was change all the fluids and I use penzoil 10w40

Sounds like it’s your cylinder position switch my prelude did the same thing.
@@HoustonSpeedFreaks unknown but took it to the shop and they replaced the VVT solenoid thingy and the problem was solved.
@Brad.W that’s good to hear!
You should of checked the continuity of the oil pressure switch itself. If there is no continuity the pressure switch is bad. You tested the plug.

Yeah it's a very common issue with these cars from what I'm gathering and anytime I can be helpful I try 😁

Did you ever fix the problem?

Fucking right!
😂😂
Did you guys solve the problem??
Issue was a blown head gasket/ worn out piston rings
mine went away for 3 months after a oil change , now it's back do you think that could be the problem?
I checked the oil level stick and there is no oil on there after the first intial wipe on the cloth
@@santinootero8270 it very well could be check your spark plugs and see if they have any oil or coolant on them
Ok I'll have to check tmrw . Seems to run fine after an oil change , burns up oil, then throws that code , we'll have to see
H swap for sure u won't be disappointed
I know I won't be disappointed 😂 that's why it's getting an H motor no doubt 🤫

I've had that replaced twice and that code still pops up

And the second part?
Whenever I have time to finish filming and editing it will be up 😬
