Anthony and Tara teach you how to make a very exciting exothermic reaction with hydrogen peroxide. It will also keep your pet elephant's teeth clean.
    Experiment Tips:
-Experiment's reaction produces heat, be careful not to touch until it has a chance to cool.
-30% hydrogen peroxide can bleach/burn so be sure to avoid contact with skin and clothing.
-Swirling the chemicals together after combining gave a faster and stronger reaction.
    Relight a Match
    chemistry.about.com/od/chemist...
A small flint or ember from a dying match placed above the bubbles will re-ignite the match due to the oxygen being released.
    All Living things Contain Peroxides
    looseinthelabscience.com/downl...
Hydrogen peroxide is naturally produced in organisms as a by-product of oxidative metabolism. Nearly all living things possess enzymes known as peroxidases, which harmlessly and catalytically decompose low concentrations of hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen.
    Exothermic Reaction
    reekoscience.com/Experiments/E...
The bottle will feel warm to the touch due to the exothermic reaction. Exo meaning exiting or leaving and thermic having to do with measuring temperature or heat. . So, an exothermic reaction is a chemical reaction where the heat stored in the chemical bonds is released and goes into the environment.

Well, actually, "heat stored in the chemical bonds" is kindof wrong.
*Energy* is stored there. That energy is released as heat when you dare to add the catalyst.

B careful if you do it this way the hydrogen peroxide could give you a chemical burn if it's not completely used up by exothermic reaction after that's why they have gloves!! Don't play in it have fun.
