This is absolutely my favorite Mannheimsteamroller song! The first time I heard it, tears welled up in my eyes. I gasped at the crescendos and smiled with each diminuendo. Now, every Christmas Season, I play this song again and again. And, with each first time replaying, my eyes well up with Tears, again. For me, this song arrangement captures so much of that Holy Night. The Fragility. Seeming loneliness of Mary and Joseph in that Manager with little Baby Jesus. The, the Triumphant moment for all! The Legion of Angels celebrating in Heaven! The Regality of the newborn King! The Harmony, the rightness restored to the world. Then, the somberness, hushness of the song at the end because of His life to come. That Hill on Calvary so distant but still there. Finally, closing quietly with the Piano and that single flame. His Flame. Tears. Good tears. But, tears nonetheless. Thank you for the gift to our World of this Song!
I want to thank Rush Limbaugh for introducing me to Mannheimsteamroller quite a fews years ago, RIP Rush - you are sorely missed by your fans. To me, it's not Christmas until you have listened to Mannheimsteamroller. SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!!
I was at Nassau Coliseum for the one and only time Mannheim Steamroller played there, and Chip Davis publicly acknowledged Rush Limbaugh from the stage for really introducing them to the Greater New York area.
I last saw them in Philadelphia in 2011. I went in knowing it wasn't the original band, but it turned out the host that night was Jackson Berkey: pretty much my favorite among them! (I love piano!)
I have heard a lot of music in my 75 years of life, and to me O Holy Night is probably the most beautiful song ever written. This arrangement by Mannheim Steamroller is excellent!
When I was in high school, I played this version as a flute solo with piano accompaniment for midnight mass. We brought the entire congregation to tears with this. And before I knew it, I too was crying while performing. A truly moving rendition of this timeless classic. It kind of blows your heart wide open
There was a girl in high school, way back in the dark ages of 1983, who could sing this so pure, it left everyone in tears. I cannot listen to this song with dry eyes. But I listen to it anyway. Even in this instrumental, I can hear her voice singing it in my memory.... ....damn these onions! 😢
I envy those people who possess THE GIFT... The Gift to make music. And if I had it, I would also want to use it to glorify GOD like these accomplished people.
God bless us all this Christmas! May God bless this wonderful Nation and this world! We are caught up in a terrible time. I pray that we might make it through! Dear Lord hear us and give us strength to live, to love and to accept each other and the love you give us. Help us to learn to heed your word and to cast the life and the joy and your light throughout all of the corners of this glorious world that you have given us. Please help us to love each other as you would have us to do. Please grant us your discernment and give us your strength in these trying times! In Christ’s name and for the peace and understanding of this world!
Oh My Gosh!! The first time I’ve heard this by Mannheim! 😮😮 I think it’s the best arrangement that I have ever heard hands down! You have a God given talent. Thank You for this masterpiece!!
I love this and my mother always listened to this group at christmas time. It has been 20 years since she passed away and this makes me miss her even more
Mannheim always has magnificent Christmas music, it is soul grabbing. I have I believe three of their albums on CD, love the tenderness they show in their music, and I also love the thunder the put in some of it as well, just the right mix.
Just Mannheim. The OG. Stand alone inspirational perfection. May your music last forever. When our family with adult children and grandchildren gather on Christmas Eve for our most beautiful meal of the year, this is the background music. Merry blessed Christmas to all.
I know the music of the Steamroller since Fresh Aire I. Their musical vision is outstanding. This version of the French Carol is just marvelous. The structure, the arrangements are bound to be timeless. I feel chills and tears of joy everytime I listen to it.
I also fell in love with them in 1980 when I discovered the first three Fresh Aire records. Toccata remains one of my most meaningful songs of all time. I don't know how many hundreds of times I have listened to it in my lifetime.
Mannheim Steamroller is the ONLY Christmas music I play @ home or in my car. As close to perfection as I’ve ever heard…and that much better in person! ( Twice ) When are you coming back to Central IN ? …
I would sure give the world to see you put together an instrumental version of "When Christmas Comes to Town" from the Polar Express!! No vocals - just pure manheim steamroller style, instruments only... Pretty sure that would sound AMAZING. ALMOST as good as my favorite - your version of The Hallelujah Chorus!! Crazy chance we could make that happen?
A couple years I bought tickets for Manheim Steamroller. I expected Chip Davis to be there. Well the paying customers weren't important enough to attract Mr Davis to be there. Very disappointed.
The violin was beautiful; so was the oboe solo - another lovely presentation from Mannheim Steamroller but i still like Trans- Siberian Orchestra and their "Carol Of The Bells"
I think this would have been great to watch live. But as a recorded piece... Weak, and a little bit sleepy. I just feel like they did not hit those power notes well enough.

Same! My sentiments exactly. I was fortunate to see Mannheim Steamroller in person about 5-6 years ago. Such amazing music!

Rush was a great American Patriot God bless him and his family Merry Christmas
Joy and sadness Beauty From the Ashes. Music does so much for the soul
I have heard a lot of music in my 75 years of life, and to me O Holy Night is probably the most beautiful song ever written. This arrangement by Mannheim Steamroller is excellent!
Mainheim steamrollers are one of the best groups around. This is beautiful!

Hello Annie how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family
Just such a favorite for the Holiday! This piece, this group. Their Christmas album is such a joy, and calming to the heart and soul.
Shalom shalom!

Saw them last night here in Cleveland and the music was so beautiful.
A profoundly moving performance of one of the greatest Christmas hymns ever written.
I loved it. I always enjoy listening to them. My first exposure was the Christmas light display set to their music. It was fabulous!!💖💖💖💖💖💖
I love this and my mother always listened to this group at christmas time. It has been 20 years since she passed away and this makes me miss her even more
I still get chills...every time I hear this. Simply beautiful.

I have seen them in Omaha three times and never get tired of hearing their beautiful music. They are amazing and so innovative.

You excel at making music stirring. God bless!

So INFINITELY BEAUTIFUL.
Absolutely spectacular.
I just heard Mannheim Steamroller's version of "Silent Night" on RUclips. Now the Christmas season can begin.
They are my most favorite orchestra to listen no matter what they play but this truly beautiful.
One of the most visually evocative pieces of instrumental music I've ever heard. Outstanding

We love your music sooo much !! Thank you!! God Bless You!!!
I saw them in Sioux Falls, SD in 2018 or 2019. The best concert I’ve ever been too.
Have heard this performed many times over the years. This is by far one of my most favorite versions.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
Love the instrumental pieces of Manheim steamroller thank you so much for this
Every night is a holy night. Thank you
Mannheim Steamroller is the ONLY Christmas music I play @ home or in my car. As close to perfection as I’ve ever heard…and that much better in person! ( Twice )

I like it
Bellísimo!!! 🎄 ☃️ ✨ ❤️
beautiful
Beautiful!!
Anything CHIP DAVIS puts together is HEAVEN ON EARTH
Is it live or is it Memorex? So much like the studio recording. Everything they do is incredible. This may be their best.
This is taken from a live show, obviously, but I'm sure there were some post-filming touch ups to make the sound better.
Awesome!
Hello carol how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family
Still watch this July 2023
Wow!!
Wow amazing thanks
Does Elyse Davis have a place where she posts songs? I loved her Greenesleeves. She has such a unique and great voice!!
Haven’t heard them in years…where ya been?👍
Nice!
That looks like the Orpheum Theatre in Omaha, Ne. Great place!
It might be…aren’t they from Omaha?
@@conniea4594 Yes
Wow y remember the Orpheum theatre? Great.
The Orpheum is a spectacular venue. Years ago the city planned to demolish it. Thankfully sanity won out.
❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
to my favorite theologians..."to the benefit of people's actions", o holy night.

This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Chip is amazing.....
Am I right, are they not from Omaha, NE.?
I think so.
Hello Shirley how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family
What city is this?
I think this would have been great to watch live. But as a recorded piece... Weak, and a little bit sleepy. I just feel like they did not hit those power notes well enough.
The music is beautiful. But the video is not. The candles are very distracting. It would’ve been better to have close-ups of all of the musicians.
Beautiful!
