Thank you for the awesome video! I learned a lot. I did a needed rebuild of the gear box for the first time a couple of months ago and figured that I needed to open it up again. But after I saw that it was OK using your turn test, I doubled back on the other items you described so well. I was surprised that my suction was low and traced the issue to a leaky skimmer plate. I also laid the hoses out in the sun to hopefully let them lose their memory. Thanks for saving me a ton of time and aggravation.
have 2 haywards ultra and navigator change the parts according to comments by people the vaccum still tangling so i decide to buy new set of hoses wich did the trick i tried in both vaccums and neither got tangie so im happy cause i use the same set of hoses.i think you have to replce the hoses which probably last for at least 4 years good luck if this is your problem,
Hi there. Thanks for all your videos. Very helpful. Found a leak in my leader hose. Took it off and just attached reg hose. Is this a no-no? Do I need the leader hose b4 doing the drop test? TY👍🙂
you can do the test just make sure you get the lead hose replacement soon it is built to be connected to the vac and built stronger so it will not break as easy as the others😇
@@mbjdiy1778 Thank you. I did all sorts of cleaning, parts replacing, your tests, and then put the old leader hose back on. As of last night, ready to to throw in the proverbial towel. Suction pressure is a negative difference in pressure generated between two points which draws a gas or a liquid from a higher to a lower pressure state. Suction is the force that a partial vacuum exerts upon a solid, liquid, or a gas.[1][better source needed] Removing air from a space results in a lowered pressure, which can cause fluids to enter the space or produce adhesion. When the pressure in one part of a system is reduced relative to another, the fluid in the higher pressure region will exert a force relative to the region of lowered pressure. Pressure reduction may be static, as in a piston and cylinder arrangement, or dynamic, as in the case of a vacuum cleaner when air flow results in a reduced pressure region. When animals breathe, the diaphragm and muscles around the rib cage cause a change of volume in the lungs. The increased volume of the chest cavity decreases the pressure inside, creating an imbalance with the ambient air pressure, resulting in suction.
@@mbjdiy1778 yes I'm very familiar with suction, positive pressure and negative pressure, I worked for Intel corp for 30 years sealing with equipment that pumps down to millitorr pressures. All i was referring to is that in the pool world most pool techs refer to the negative pressure as suction. I've gone around and around with many of them on this its suction side and return side to them. Goo to see that there is someone else out there who understands positive and negative pressure.
