In my honest opinion this beats them. Cant think of any show more entertaining. I love Top Gear and MCM feels equal quality-wise and is for me at least as entertaining.
They have actually done Network TV of sorts, not sure how much they did/do it but I remember hearing about it from them in a few videos. It is insane how much production they put into their content nowadays.

So crazy how 10 years ago when I was 12 I watched that episode of the Golf build and got so excited watching it that I told myself I was gonna do it when I get my car. I honestly remember watching the episode like it was yesterday. Crazy how time fly’s. Great job with the channel, amazing to see how big you guys have become 👏🏽👏🏽

What I love about MCM is that they don't act like they know everything, but are so willing to learn more, especially in this episode.

My mom kept helping me to learn english and now i can travel around the planet alone and if we have a stranger at work i will be the one to deal with.

I'm not a vw fan but a 500hp golf R sounds really damn good to me.
500 hp and dsg is insane.

Easily spent more than the car cost to buy. Big brakes $4k, turbo, exhaust, intake etc...10k.....then the other parts, odds and sods.
Best spend $17k on the evo to make things fair lol 😉😊

I love how the shop is making the owner of the car wear gloves while.working on his own car.
It'll be part of the shop's safety rules despite the joking around. Repeated skin exposure to car gack isn't good for you in the long term.
And then the other shop dude decides to not wear them at 13.00....

Health and safety probably. If he's injured or has some kind of skin irritation while on their premises, the company has to file why it happened, what could have been done to prevent it (and why they didn't prevent it), and perhaps a small (and sometimes very hefty) fine. It sounds annoying but it's just how it is. If somebody is injured in my workshop here in NZ while I'm managing, even though it's not my business I can be charged upwards of $100,000 for any serious/fatal injuries to other staff or customers.

I just wanted to say thank you guys for the videos you guys produce! Since I watched your video on the first GTI in 2009 I have always wanted a GTI. Then I saw this video and then I knew I had to get a Golf R or Golf GTI and I did I started my rebuild on an MK6 GTI Wolfsburg edition. Thanks for all the year of inspiration.
Having watched you guys for 12 years. I am finally re visiting one of your series for myself. I have purchased a 7.5 GTE as my second car this week and hope to do some of the things you did on this R.

500hp VW, sounds proper enough to me
These "sensors" for brake wear are basically a continuous wire that gets cut by the brake when the pads are worn down to a certain point. It's a really simple concept and his solution is just as simple. As a mechanic you don't need a sensor to tell you when your brakes are worn. That's for non-car people.
He used heat shrink! That's proper!!! ✌
@@ipodge1731 It was not really that long ago that only high end cars had such things, they are an unnecessary gadget really. Maintenance and yearly safety checks like M.O.T. Tests here in the UK will let you know when they get low enough to keep an eye on them or replace them, or just wait till you hear metal grinding lol ;)

Dont need gloves either when on the lift apparently - around the time they were doing the brakes both of them are working on it with no gloves..

The golf is a amazing car that has won many awards. I can see someone modding this versus a civic or corolla, etc. The golf is such a good platform to build on. I modded my golf 4 over 10 years ago with a cat back, supercharger, coil overs, no regrets.
You guys are brilliant!! Your shows just get better and better. Can't believe you guys haven't been taken up by Top Gear cos I think it's exactly what they need :)

Longtime MCM fan, pretty much from day one! I've just traded in my MK5 GTi for a MK7 Golf R with DSG and it's amazing. I went to inspect the car and the first thing I did was check that it was damage free, then I checked the cabin, popped the hood and then that was it, I AM BUYING THIS VERY CAR. I'm in the UK and when I noticed Japanese on the labels that was it, SOLD! So now I have a Jap import turbo with German reliablity. 🙌🏻
