A few weeks before the closing of Sears at Midway Mall. The West wing will soon be as dead as the East wing and the South wing. :( Included is a ride on the Montgomery Hydraulic Elevator.

Great footage to have for posterity. Interesting though when our Sears magnet store in Seattle closed several years ago we didn't have access to any floor that appeared vacant. They always moved the merchandise down each floor to make the store look 'full'. So on floor #1 you could shop for a pair of men's Nike sneakers, and 10 ft away shop for TV sets and Kenmore appliances. Next to the vacuum cleaners and power tools. They shut down the escalators and made floor #1 look as full as it can.

The security guy I talked to at Best Buy said the sears roof had lots of water damage which is why the back of the second floor was closed off last year or so.
There was a dept store in downtown elyria that had a manual elevator a very nice old lady used to operate it. its on the corner near uncle vics (if thats what its' still called)
