lake erie sailor There are lots that should be in the winter Olympic in that case. All "sports" which involves an element about "how pretty something is" i.e. they are based on subjectivity; such as ice dancing, half-pipe, ski areal etc etc. They are the winter equivalent of synchronised swimming or ball room dancing. They are "arts" not "sports".
Let me preface this by saying that i'm a curler, and what you said is exactly true. So because the game is played on ice, you have to have very good balance, which means a strong core and very good stabilizer muscles in your legs. but the most demanding aspect is definitely sweeping, which is the equivalent of sprinting for 20s, walk for a minute, for the duration of the game, which is two hours. Strategy is very complex, but the wiki page explains curling rather well if u want to check it out.
Can someone explain the difficulty of this sport? A lot of people do not have much respect for this sport. I would to but I know nothing on how to train for this so can someone enlighten me on the strategy and other aspects that make this a sport?
I kinda understand now. I had to watch several times because I couldn't read and watch the 'action'. I don't know if I could sit still and enjoy watching it on tv, still like watching paint dry to me. But I feel like I have a better idea of what it's about...a little. I agree it's like potluck! So many indoor, outdoor, board, bar and even house chores all thrown together. hahaha

Same reason chess is one.
it IS a sport, but does not belong in the olympics; curling is in the same category as bowling, darts, billiard, horseshoe

Curling
nope
I came here because I needed to see what 'curling' was; after watching the 90-second guide, I still don't know, don't even care now; looks ridiculous.
Is curling technically a "sport"? Endurance: not required, Strength: not required, Athletic coordination: check. 1 out of 3 = not a sport. :D
