The countryside was always Polish too (Silesia has its own identity). Communists expelled both the Germans and Poles Eastwards where the Germans made their homes in Germany and the expelled Poles found shelter in Pomerania and Silesia; which now means the populations there are almost completely re-polonised.

Politics saying they don't take imigrants is lie. Warsaw is multikulti and they took 500.000 of them wihin 5 years (officialy at goverment immigration website - later it was hidden but there are screenshots the people took) I bet there is more plus at least 3 million from one neighbour east country...those of more than half million are from North Africa, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Afghanistan and many more. Even in my middle rich city with 380 thousand inhibitants there is a looot of them. Goverment says they don't take them in (sic) Fatamorgana and the runner at 0:10 is Polish..

After World War Two the majority of Warsaw’s traditional architecture has been destroyed and then replaced by commie blocks during an almost 50 year long Soviet rule. If Warsaw wants to join the group of wealthy developed cities it has no choice other than constructing modern buildings such as skyscrapers and office hubs, otherwise it’s left out with a mix of leftover pre war and ugly communist architecture

  • @tmlodzik

    Bullshit:)
Nice building hape matters, but urban infrastructure is more important. Nurseries, kindergartens or schools. This is practically not exist. There is nothing to exalt. Most skyscrapers are office buildings just for rent. Residential houses are built very close to each other. No space.
Heavy industry does not exist in Poland. The Polish automotive industry is usually assembly plants bringing Poland to a third world country. We don't build planes or tractors. Etc.
The film shows buildings with beautiful green exterior . That was built during the PRL, i.e. between 1945 and 1980.
