This song was created by Dan Hamilton (Daniel Robert Hamilton) when he was only 16 years old, it was his first day in a recording studio, he accompanied his brother to the recording studio because he worked for The Ventures. The band had one last song to write and had run out of ideas. Just that week Dan had written a song at home that his brother heard and asked The Ventures to listen to. Dan was just a little boy and was quite shy, but when he played the song everyone was amazed. Within 3 months Diamond Head was the best selling song in Japan selling over 1 million copies. Dan Hamilton composed other songs for The Ventures such as "The Galop" "War of the Satellites", "Escape/Target", "Wild And Wooly" and "Kandy Koncoction. He also composed for many other musicians, then he was part of the group T-Bones that toured Japan and then he was part of the band Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds where he composed many songs, the album Fallin' in Love has 8 songs of his authorship. He also had an incredible voice and was an amazing guitar player. He played guitar with The Ventures, The Beach Boys, Jerry Lewis and many other famous musicians of his time. Undoubtedly an incredible musician who started his career thanks to his talent and the creation of this beautiful song. ❤
