I graduated from Brooklyn college with my bachelors in education. People have to understand that when you attend college, you will not be spoon fed, you have to do your own research and partner yourself WITH GOOD PEERS. That last statement is key .
Is there ANY social activity though? I'm in 9th grade right now and I have no friends and don't plan on being friends with anybody in my school, in college I hope that I can make new friends. Can you describe how social life on campus was please?
This is not at all a social school. In fact people kind of find it weird if you're trying to be friendly or if you're trying to make friends. However, the standard of education is high. Overall, if you want to join Brooklyn College only to get your degree and leave without having an actual social life then this is the school for you.
@@Mimi-lw8ev As I mentioned that it's a great school. I don't regret going there but I wanted a true college life experience which is only possible in schools that are far away in suburbs like Binghamton University. If you don't want to party or if you don't want to meet a bunch of people with whom you could hang around with then this school is fine.
@@atifazim4739 Maybe it's you? Are you sociable to begin with? I dunno. For me, I had a blast there. I hung out there with/without other people (depending on what I was doing). I went with a lot of those same friends to clubs... parties... everything. It felt 100% like an "away" college for me. I lived on that campus... basically ALL the time, lol. Loved it so much I went over 160 credits on my first BA.
Brooklyn College isn't that bad. Most of the people who work in the administration office are rude and really have no sense of direction. However, the experience there has been great. I had a few amazing professors who I still keep in contact with. I am graduating soon. Can't wait.
Brooklyn College is WEIRD. Administration there is a pain in the ass and even though they try to be accessible to disabled students the school is pretty inaccessible especially in winter. :(
@@macarari Visited with a disabled student who wanted to attend but dropped out after it was so inaccessible it was physically DANGEROUS to them. I Really hope they offer online class instead in the future for those who are physically disabled. The college has online class now because a bunch of BC students got COVID19 and I hope they keep the online capabilities after the outbreak ends.
@@ToeIn2194 Oh god, I had the same thoughts. Its a beautiful school, but it looks like its painful... all the walking, i was hoping it was a bit accessible but now I read this...
@@kalexis6484 Yeah Brooklyn College does have a Disability Office for extended time on tests and provides lab help to disabled students but navigating between buildings is a nightmare because the grounds are in poor condition, and they are completely incapable of moving classes into closer proximity so it's NOT for anyone with fatigue or mobility issues. As far as I can tell Brooklyn College is online for Fall 2020 though if that helps.
Brooklyn College is a fairly decent school. The administration act like jerks, nevertheless I had been able to get things done. My experience at this campus was okay, not really the best because most of the students and professors act so weird. I believe that Brooklyn College is better than many of the other cuny schools.
thanks for the video! I've applied for my 2nd bachelors program to BC for undergraduate music program (Guitar) in Fall 2023. Do you have any idea about their guitar music program? Do you have friends/acquaintances studying music in BC?
@@macarari I only saw the sciences and math info about BC and it seemed decent academically. A lot of students are left to their own devices to study because Brooklyn College Professors are overloaded with 100 students per class, so the students get very little of the Profs attention and tutoring is also done in a group. No 1 on 1 or individualized learning at all, but if you are good at working on your own it's probably fine.

How is it not social? There’s litterally a campus near the university? I’m planning to go there but now I’m not sure

I just graduated and man this is so true. It was so damn hard for me to make friends in this school. Wish i went away to get the true experience.
