So true, ten people could do the same cook and end up with ten uniquely different videos! I had friends try to convince me for a while to start a youtube channel because of my passion for food but I resisted for the same reason. I thought I would just be regurgitating what others are already doing. I finally gave in and posted my first video in May. I've been slowly growing a community and an audience but most of all I've really been enjoying the creative process of making videos. I'm liking the videos of yours that I've seen, keep up the good work. I'm subbed!
Thx for the bbq bio. I thought you was a firefighter or police man. Got myself a chudbix and it's a learning curve and is mainly why I watch your videos.
First time watching you. From Accra Ghana in West Africa. Built me a couple of smokers and enjoying bbqing in the last 3 yrs. Learning a lot youtubers like you. Keep it up.
dang..... i had no idea that i had any influence on people. haha. im just here to encourage any and all who wanna give it a shot. i would not recommend to people to do it the way i've done it. lol. but we all owe ourselves an opportunity to try what we love to do and to see what sticks. im a fan!
I started following you due to your Chud Pit & Chuds seasonings. Brad is the man. I'm from North side of Chicago, might have to make my way to the windy city smoke out so I can shake both of your hands & pound a beer! Brads briskets are the best! Keep up the good work!
Hello Drew! Nice to meet you! Thanks for letting us know a little about you. I’m originally from Boston and now live in Western NC at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I’ve always loved grilling myself. Got into smoking about 12 years ago. I bought my first smoker, a weber, Smokey Mountain 14”. Now I own a 22” weber smoky mountain and just bought an Orion bullet smoker. Man, the ribs looked awesome, I like your content, so I subbed, liked, and rang the bell. Looking forward to seeing more of your cooks! This is Dave at Dabomb Smokes, cheers And much success on your channel!
I am glad your video popped up. New subscriber alert! Lol You watched the same people I do. You seem genuine and I appreciate that. I have been a single father to a wonderful and beautiful daughter, but money has always been tight. I started off with a cheap gas grill and started watching Malcolm and I just knew I wanted some smoke so I rigged up a fan and a smoke tube and loved it. I ended up buying a Dyno glo smoker ( I know no one has ever heard about it lol) but that is what I have been using for 5 years and if there are no ribs on Saturday my daughter questions me. Looking forward to seeing more videos. Take care.
Enjoyed this video. It gives me some insight into trying something new out of my comfort zone. My family keeps telling me to share my cooking via social media and RUclips because I love to cook all things including bbq. Thank you, keep up the good work. I am also in IT.
I am glad you took their advice on YT Drew! And also glad we made the decision to take that class at L&L. Congrats on the new place - excited for the merch and plans down the line!
Awesome story! Mine is similar, went down to Texas 2 years ago to pick up my LSG backyard pit and stoped to eat at truth bbq and it completely blew my mind how good the food was. Now we have a 500 gallon primitive and are doing bbq events on the side!
I subscribed after seeing you on Chuds channel with a Hog polo on and, after watching this, it's uncanny how much we have in common. Keep going, man! Hopefully we can cook up together someday! And Woo Pig!!
Great video and content. I have a similar story (grew up in HTX, learned bbq from my grandpa, physicist in VA, rediscovered bbq with a Weber from my brother as a wedding gift and elevated it with a buddy starting a bbq joint and inviting me to help when I can). Keep inspiring 🤙🏼
Great job getting on YT. I have been experimenting on the direct heat method, which I saw on Chuds videos before, and then ran into yours the other day. I did a search just to see who else enjoys the direct heat method. It's good to see others, trying it out. Keep up the good videos! Thank you for sharing.
Great video. It is nice to hear the story of how each person gets into the cooking and video scene. Keep up the great work and good luck with the upcoming merchandise and products.
As an old school photographer and videographer, I'll say that direct sunlight is NOT your friend. The dynamic range between the lit and shadowed parts is too great for the camera to catch. For the shot starting at 11:45, using a scrim (such as a white curtain or bed sheet) to block the direct sunlight would have been very helpful. It would have toned down the brightness, and diffused the light into a much more even tone. For the "talking head" portion, had you shot that at the time you shot the rib cut, but sat in the shade of the scrim, the lighting would have been just about perfect. Remember, you don't need to shoot the clips in the same order as they will be in the final video. And remember, you can always use the Chud approach... shoot at night. :)
Thank you very much for the insight! I fought with it all day. No NVD filter, blown out. NVD filter, couldn’t see the food. I’m definitely an amateur when it comes to photography/videography and need to do some research. Your tips are appreciated!
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
It would be hard to pass up a kamado joe if I went with a ceramic cooker. They come loaded and do a great job. I’ve seen Mojo on instagram but not RUclips. Subscribed!
Thanks for the shoutout, Drew! ❤👏
I’ll sing the gospel of NSBBQU & LeRoy and Lewis until the end of time!
Always good to hear the background of the RUclipsrs I watch and see how their style evolved.
Love the video Drew!

In 2019 I moved to MO by way of Chicagoland. I’m in SWMO now. You coming back to Arkansas in September to cook some squirrel? 😃
SWMO and NWA are some of the most beautiful parts of the country. No squirrel hunting but definitely calling some hogs!
@@swinebovinebarbecue agreed! Love this part of the country.
