  • Hello.
    Thank you for watching.
There are many other modifications of this F clamp, but I have not seen a flat steel welded type, so I introduced it. I've been using this flat steel type for about two years since the prototype, and I think it's really wonderful. No damage to wood. Of course, if you tighten it with a lot of force, there is a risk of marks, but that is the same with any clamp.
I own clamps from various manufacturers, but in terms of scratch resistance, it is superior to any other product.
It is thought that the reason for this is that the flatness of the part in contact with the material is extremely high and the fixed surface is wide, so that the force is distributed appropriately.
Another feature is that the material does not move easily when tightening. In the normal case, the material tends to move in a circular motion when tightening, but in this model, the plates face each other and hold down, so the material does not move in a circular motion. almost unaffected by
So far, we have repeated various modifications and prototypes, but the most excellent model, including cost, difficulty, and functionality, is this version, and if you can do metal processing and welding, you can easily make it. think.
Even in metal processing applications, it is advantageous not to increase the number of unnecessary scratches on the material, and the wide area to be pressed also suppresses local dents and distortions. By using magnetic tape, you can temporarily fix the main unit, so you can expand your ideas for how to use it. This model is not only for woodworking, but also for those who work with metal.
If welding is not possible, lumber can be used instead of flat steel to achieve the same functionality. However, in terms of strength, it is unavoidable that it is inferior, but if you use it for woodwork, it can be used sufficiently, so if you are interested, please try it. If you put an antibacterial cutting board on it, it will be more resistant to scratches.
Also, when using wood, the dimensions of the material should be slightly longer to make it easier to attach hot bonds.
Also, as a non-welded model, there is also a version using a cola cap, so please take a look.
The work of layering baking soda is surprisingly interesting.

    important point
Be sure to point the welds. Then, each of the upper and lower plates is fastened in 3 places.
    reason
    1) Minimize thermal deformation.
    2) It can be removed by scraping with a grinder.
    3) High strength is not required.
    4) Welding may come off if there are only 1 or 2 points.
Any anti-scratch plate will do. Here's what I've tried and the results.
    ● Rubber sheet.
The double-sided tape slips and the rubber sheet slips. It does not damage the material at all.
    ● Antibacterial cutting board
Although the resistance value is a little low, it is recommended because it has the best balance.
    ● Aluminum sheet
It will prevent scratches, but there is no merit because it is soft.
    ●Magnet tape
For steel. There is no benefit for woodworking.
Please remove the protection plate when using in a place where the temperature becomes high due to welding.
Also, if you want to use it in a place where heat enters, it is recommended to increase the thickness of the steel material. If it is 3mm, it may be distorted by heat.
    that's all.
