Mark , my dad owes a gym here in the states and as soon as we heard this about the lack of weight loss on your behalf; my dad said... well since you run and you have been sticking to it and eating right you are doing exactly what you should be. You have to remember muscle weighs more than fat. So yes you are losing weight. Nadia and Nannie Di are right, you can see it in your face. There is no fibbing or fudging that. Muscle weighs more than fat. You are staying the same because while you are losing fat and you are also building muscle back which is evening you out on the scales. Had the cheating by cereal eating been what did it; you would have put on weight. Give it a little longer and you will see that once you have the runner muscles built back up they will actually help you burn fat and the weight will start coming off more and in larger qualities. You guys are doing amazing. The fact that you think about what you are about to eat now is a huge step.
Mark, you need more carbs, I don’t think you are eating enough. I also agree with a previous comment, you are running, so will be building muscle. Please don’t get worried about it you are doing great.
A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU BOTH. I started the New Year ill & didnt make any resolutions (I don't drink - it makes me feel really ill after just a small amount). Ten days later I hit 49 with one of my worst birthdays ever - (thanks for the birthday wishes guys as it cheered me up). Since then I've been & am ill again, but you both have inspired me to get a fitness tracker to monitor my steps. I started the New Year probably doing less than 1500 steps a day. (I have ME so every day is a struggle to balance activity v rest) Today although I didn't reach my goal of 6000 steps 😔 I have made it to 5502. Not bad from housebound this time last year to today & even after 4mths of near constant illness on top of the ME.
So please, please keep it up. And Mark totally get the not wanting to move & lose steps if I'm not wearing my tracker 😂 - feels like such a waste 🤣 x

Omg Mark you are my spirit animal, I have also maintained this week I was SOooo pi**ed off after doing 15,000 steps + every day done hits every day , but when I sat and thought about it I've been having bowls of cornflakes in the evening and snacking on Naked bars , which I might add I didn't know about till I started watching your vlogs! I love the bake well and blueberry So I'm having a good talk to myself' and this week I'M NOT BUYING ANY NAKED BARS !! It's just too easy to grab n snack🐖🐷🐽 and then discount them, Mark you've done so well don't get hung up on the scales they are the disappointed parent in the corner 👨🏫 we can do it!💪💪💪💪
Mark should not lose heart!!! 💜💜💜 he’s doing great!!The scales don’t tell you the muscle you might be growing at the same time as losing body fat! Hence the scale not moving much. As a trainer I will tell you there is nothing wrong with a SMALL amount of carbs before bed- a small amount of carbs or protein before bed can help u sleep. But I would advise to have a smaller amount of oats ie. 35g with a spoonful of maple syrup or made with protein powder such as chocolate or vanilla instead of raisins as they’re full of sugar x well done Nads you’re doing great! 💪💪❤️😊xx

I have carbs eg potato, brown rice, brown pasta or brown bread as part of every meal, still lose weight, balanced diet, carbs, veg and fish/meat followed by fruit and total fat free yogurt. Banana every morning.
I agree, i don't think Mark is eating enough, i lost 2 stone on slimming world and could eat anything..all of the above that you mentioned, limited bread, cereal and dairy but enough, plus syns of chocolate and crisps, i still had carbs but not as much, filled half of my plate with veg or salad, 1/4protein, 1/4 carbs, fresh fruit. i never felt hungry x

Subs is fine by the way. Mark a good sustainable weight loss is one pound per week. You have done five pounds in three weeks, that's amazing. I would say you're probably not eating enough, consistently. You really need three meals a day, consisting of carbs, protein and fibre, plus plenty of fluids, preferably water. Please don't be hard on yourself you're doing brilliantly and like Nanny Di said you can see a loss, so inches are going, much more important than weight. X

Awww Mark...I feel your pain but I am really wondering if this weigh in is best for you? EBen if it is Nads who is normally against weigh-ins? I don’t weigh myself now and prefer to tell by how clothes fit if I’ve lost weight, or perhaps it should only be a monthly occurrence?!! Re taking the kids treats, we’ve now got a shelf for us and one for my daughter...may be Nadia could allocate a draw just for you so that when it’s gone, that’s it until the next shop. Plus if you are snacking that much, you are probably not eating enough during the day. Don’t starve yourselves, up the exercise and cut out most of your snacking, especially late in the day. I know it’s easier said than done, I have just started and I need to lose more than both of you...it’s tough to break the habits of a lifetime!!! 🙈😬 I don’t mind the term subs but how about ‘AdNads’ ?😆
Mark you've lost inches you can see it..You need to bulk up your meals so your not starving @bedtime because you won't be able to sleep all you'll think about is food...Also men needs more food than women....Chin up mark don't be so hard on yourself eat more during the day&next week you'll be fine♥

Just wanted to say a big thank you for doing the 100 days sober. I am also taking inspiration and doing it with you! I am only 19 but the moment in the vlog where you were in the car with the champagne reminded me so much of situations I’ve been in partying/clubbing where everyone is drinking but you. You saying no gave me so much hope that I can also say no. I’ve got a party on Friday I’m going to and you have given me the reassurance to not drink even when everyone else around you is. Thank you for reminding me that I’m going to do what’s best for ME!
Come on Mark , you can do this. It can seem difficult at times, but when you’ve been doing this for a few months it’s very rewarding. I attended SlimmingWorld last year and managed to lose 3 stone. But problems I have in my marriage has meant through comfort eating I have put a stone back on. I need to get back on it or I know I’m not doing myself any favours. Good luck!
Not sure if this would help Mark with portion control and accountability of what he has eaten but I not take a photo of what I’m about to eat which is helping me greatly and it’s become a habit. You can do this Mark with Nadia supporting you! 🤗

Don't feel down Mark.. It will be up and down on the scales.. Suger is one of the reasons why people put weight on.. Cut out as much sugar as you can.. It's even in some fruits that we eat.. Chia seeds are excellent for getting rid off fat.. Also.. Fresh lemon water.. Lemon reduces body fat.. I have both of these everyday.. And it reduces my body fat... Hope this helps.. The per week loss will slow down, some weeks go up, some weeks stay the same, sometimes find you go up and following week lose loads. Also muscle ways more than fat. X
Uh oh... there's been a mouse in the chocolate drawer!! Mark don't be down.... I'll say again, stay away from the scale! It's just EVIL! Wait a few weeks... and then you'll be much happier! I've been weak this week .. need to stop having the "naughty" stuff in the house. I'm lucky in that regard that I don't have kids to feed -- so I can really restrict what I have in the fridge/pantry! It's just awful because I could live simply on JUNK...I wouldn't care if I ever had a regular meal again if I could just keep picking on chips (crisps), cookies, ice cream, etc. I don't understand why my brain doesn't switch the cravings for those things OFF! The writing down everything you eat does help -- I've been doing it for a year and even the stuff I shouldn't be eating goes in there. I just make sure and CIRCLE those... then if I don't lose anything that month, I go back and look and see how many things I wrote in there that were circled and say "yep, that's why!" Just don't eat the book! Hahaha! xx

33lbs down since December 12. If i lost 10 more I'm good. I just don't know how I m going to do it to stop losing. It's coming off quick due to stress and not eating as much cos stress has given me a stomach condition...I CAN'T EVER GET RID OF. After the last 10 lbs got to figure out A way to keep weight on. I've been wanting to lose weight for 2 yrs now just not this way.
You both have the added weight of the camera as last week you filmed each other. Plus you can loose inches and stay the same weight. Your both doing well. You should weigh every month then you won’t get down if you don’t loose anything one week.

Mark - 5 pounds is an ideal amount to lose in this time. You are choosing lifestyle over a "quick fix" which is the way to go. However - and this is a big however! You are going without any food at all over long periods, then drinking coffee to curb your appetite. Your body will go into starvation mode and stop burning fuel to conserve it. Plus coffee is very acidic. Carbs are not wrong in moderation. Some are acidic too though, and when our bodies have too much acidic food they hang on to the fat cells to protect us. Google an "alkali food list" and focus on eating those foods. You will not find meat on there as it is also terribly acidic. I have to also add - I have been vegan for 15 years now, and never had a B12 deficiency, as I have regular tests. Up your marmite intake - that does the trick. :-) Even though I am vegan I am carrying a stone in weight I do not need - I have to exercise more!! Fitbit ordered yesterday!

Honestly....try Slimming World...it’s a plan that works, encouraging members and consultant who keep you on track, weekly weigh in, certificates for milestone losses, there is “Syn “ allowance which includes chocolate (Mark!). And you write down all food intake and count your syn allowance. Ok it sounds regimented but it’s so good! Xx
It’s best to weigh yourself when you get up naked before you eat anything and after a bowel movement, it helps to get your bowels going by drinking 1-2 glasses of water first and obviously eating plenty of fiber. After you have a bowel movement you can lose a pound in weight. Also sometimes you lose weight in inches rather than pounds, so keep measurements of your waist, hips, chest, arms and thighs, obviously its better to measure your belly first thing in the morning too.

Nadia I really really felt for you with Saira in the car and with Jane in the dressing room. How dare they behave that way towards you?! I am 8months sober.... it’s been really difficult but my god my reasons for giving up drink far out weigh the need to be funny Claire for 5hours of an evening! Saira and Jane should be ashamed of themselves!! I really hope you didn’t give in to the peer pressure! You are fun and lovely even without alcohol!

You are doing well Mark. I caved in today and had a chocolate bar, the first one in 23 days. I am not beating myself up though, and neither should you. Keep at it, you can do it.
Healthy proteins and small amounts of omega 3 fats will keep you satisfied for longer, stuff like beans, pulses, walnuts and 2 tbsps of ground flaxseeds or chia and fiber like oats and quinoa and blended soup keep you fuller for longer.
I think the bowl of cereal is absolutely fine!! I do that too. The thing you’re both not doing is tracking your calories so you don’t know how much or how little you are taking in. I am training to become a nutrition consultant and weight management consultant - in the healthy way not through making people starve themselves etc.
My advice to you both is to work out your Basal Metabolic Rate (the amount your bodies at your age, height, current weight, how active you are and your sex (I hear Mark saying yes please but I assure you I mean Male or Female). So this tells you what your body would burn if you did nothing.
Then do yourselves a favour for 1 week or even just 3 days if that’s easier and track everything you consume on My Fitness Pal.
The only way to lose weight consistently and successfully is energy in versus energy out! Being informed about your calorie intake.
If you’re not eating enough your body could be holding on - that’s what I think Marks is doing. PLUS building any kind of muscle will make the scales BS because of the weight of muscle versus fat.
Plus if you haven’t eaten enough calories then the bowl of cereal is fine!
I think you should do weekly measurements: Chest/Waist/Hips to show you are losing despite what the scales say xxx

Also some people need to take a sublingual vitamin B12 cos they can’t absorb it in their gut, they’re missing something called intrinsic factor. I take a few drops under the tongue and hold for 5 mins. Some people do better with B12 called methylocobalamin which you need to take more of and others with the most common and cheapest B12 which is cyanocobalamin which you don’t need as much of.

I think a better way of logging the weight loss is through measurements of your waists, arm size, legs etc. Mark is doing running he's doing even better he's forming muscle. He does need more food and carbs. Also Nadia and Deena wow you are twins! Loved the Zumba class she's a brilliant teacher

Oh my gosh I feel like a over bearing mom but Mark, you should look into getting a treadmill desk. You get to walk whilst working on you laptop or while writing.
It's amazing. My mom and husband both have one and love them. They can always be converted to a regular desk when ever need be.

Well done Nadia on the weight loss again and for saying no to Champagne last night (even with peer pressure). I finally braved the scales yesterday morning and it was about what I was expecting, 13st 11 1/4 lbs (I'm 5ft 6in). I was 13st 2lbs last July. I feel really heavy. Today is a new day and I'm going to start today.

A note for Nadia - Sometimes it doesn't matter what you eat... your body may not metabolise vitamins and minerals correctly. I don't eat a lot of yogurt, cheese or milk, but I was over producing calcium - this in turn depleted my vitamin D and was causing all sorts of problems. When it was first discovered I eliminated dairy/calcium from my diet, but it continued to rise (I had an op to correct it) The endocrinologists have no idea why it happens, it just happens and no amount of diet adjustment will correct it.

According to my doctors surgery you should not keep scales in the bathroom as the steam in the bathroom alters the mechanism also they should always be laid flat never upright for the same reason.

I put everything I eat into my fitness pal app. yes it's a pain weighing it all out and putting it all in but I didn't realise how many calories I was eating by picking until I did that. Still do it now even when I'm trying to maintain and not lose weight just so I can see what protein etc I have had and where I need to improve
Apparently if you suffer with high stress weight loss is difficult as your cortisone levels go up.. Have a Google interesting 🤔😁
You will be eating before bed because your body needs water, our bodies trick us into thinking we are hungry when we actually need water... I would consider getting a water bottle from somewhere, a lot of supermarkets do travel reusable water bottles and take it everywhere with you, you will be surprised at how much more water you drink when you do that ☺️ but also tracking what you eat either in an app or writing it down will also help you become more aware of what you are eating, how much and when you are eating it... don’t be afraid to have two healthy snacks during the day as your metabolism will need it if you are feeling w dip in energy etc

I have b12 injections every 12 weeks because otherwise I literally have no red blood cells I also have calcium and vitamin D tablets as calcium won’t absorb without vitamin D. No one gets enough vitamin D as we are indoors most of the time. Chips contain vitamin C.
Can I recommend Happy Scale app for recording your weight. You put in a final weight target but it breaks it down into milestones. Even a tiny tiny loss comes up as ‘you’ve made progress’ because you blomming we’ll have. Took me 6 months to lose a stone but finally did it! Helped seeing the numbers go down and how much I’ve lost since June 2018 even if I did gain over Xmas.

Your both doing well, when I did slimming world only lost a few pounds every week it is disheartening but after a year I lost 3 stone, that was 2 years ago and kept it off. Don’t go to classes anymore do it myself, it’s a different way of looking at food. I take my son to a dietician and she tells me to write everything down that he has eaten, it does help, I am the same as Nadia don’t like weighing I know by my clothes xx
