I really like this series. Just a suggestion, bring the actual food and let the other person taste it.
agreed - especially since most of these chips were US-only (or mostly, can't speak for outside EU), so I had no idea what they were talking about. Some visuals would work a treat :)

@@Vortex1988 Really as someone outside the US I only watch this series to support the channel. Most of the things the mention are only US, even in the other episodes, so I honestly have no idea what they are going on about. It's fair enough, they wouldn't be able to make the series with just international stuff, but it does mean that I, and other none-Americans, can't really enjoy this series too much if we haven't ever been to the US and tried all the stuff (which is unlikely).

Also Ryan, a minute earlier: Ruffles is better than Lay's because they're better dipping chips.
Was thinking the same thing. Says ones things then instantly contradicts himself 100%. And we all know judging just by the chip Lays classic beats Ruffles.
He’s not talking about their pairing with dip though but actually their ability to facilitate dip
@Hiccups He literally says the only thing that makes Ruffles better than Lays is when they are paired with dip. Otherwise he says they are head to head. Personally i rather lays because they are better as a snack chip on their own and they are better salted. But then he also say the stupid statement "They all taste artificial, they are potato chips.". What the hell is artificial about Lay's classic. The ingredients are literally Potatoes, Vegetable Oil (Sunflower, Corn and/or Canola Oil), and Salt. Nothing artifical and could not be simpler.

I feel like Shane’s list was classic, simple, & elegant. On the flip side, Steven’s was bold, unique, & covered a wide range of flavor. Ryan’s felt niche, fun, & a little nostalgic. All in all, a good spread of quality & taste.

I was a bit skeptical about Steven’s #1 at first but now I think he’s absolutely right. The first time I ate kettle s+v chips was the day matured into a human being

Me...a Scot, thinking they were going to talk about fries because that's what we mean when we say chips. In the U.K. these are crisps! We also don't have Lays and it's our favorite thing about holidaying anywhere else.

As a canadian lays win and if I'm at a party its waaaaay more likely to see lays than ruffles
kettle chips at large are the best kind of chips in my opinion. I especially love the chips that are folded and wrinkly because those are the ones that have the best crunch, and the crunch is what i love about kettle chips at large.
The crunchiness is sublime, but sometimes they cut the roof of my mouth and I always have to cut the bags open 🤣

There's a difference though. Ruffles stand on their own way better than tortilla chips. You need dip with tortilla chips. You don't need dip with ruffles. Not to mention, ruffles are more salty and crunchy than Lay's.

All the shows they've produced are great, but this is by far my favorite. I love the relaxed atmosphere and the lawn chairs in the kitchen. This is definitely one of those shows that feels like you're hanging out with friends without any of the pressure of social interaction. Keep up the great work!

*CHIP LOVERS ALERT* - Ruffles makes a mexican-cheddar inspired chip called "Queso." It' literally the cheese chip they release in Mexico. They have it here in the US - you can find it at Krogers. It's an incredible semi-spicy, extra sharp cheddar experience. I can't steer you wrong - I buy MULTIPLE bags of these in case they ever disappear.

Calbee's Shrimp Chips is my number 1 without question. I damn near rioted when my local grocery store stopped carrying them. Also, I am not Asian. I was picking up Asian ingredients, saw them one day thought "Huh, that might be cool!" and have never looked back.

Not in my family. In the variety pack, either Lay's Original or Sun Chips are left over. However, we usually get the Frito's Chili Cheese Flavor.

Ya'll deadass need to try Zapp's. It's a southern brand my dad introduced me to and oh my goddddddddd it's so good. My favorite is the Cajun Crawtator, but they have some other great ones too like their Cajun Dill Gator-Tators. And Shane... have you ever had Frito salad??? I think you would love it.
I eat Zapps voodoo all the time because they kinda remind me of all dressed chips, which are a Canadian thing, but I can’t get them in the south. Truly a top tier chip.
The only downside to this is that now I want some dang chips.
You guys should have had the chips there for this so everyone could try them. Also from the Midwest, the Fritos are a huge thing here. Great by themselves and awesome with bean dip!

That's interesting because as an LA boy I agree with Ryan's assessment of the crate of snak pak chips and the Frito remnants. I just realized I should say Los Angeles since LA makes me seem like I'm from Louisiana when I reread.

my take on the chip variety pack:
-cool ranch: fun, lovable, cool kids who didn’t have to try to be liked
-nacho cheese: awkward, shy picky eaters who probably have one friend who doesn’t even like them
-lays original: the kid who was so mature that they’re flavor palettes evolved into liking dips with chip at an early age
-fritos: the weird cousin who has a red rash around his lips from licking them too much
-funyuns: the kid who has an older sibling in high school and started cussing at a really young age
-fritos honey bbq: ryan bergara
