Great video, I’m sick of changing fuel filters every month or so and need to take these steps. Thanks again Mike.

Nice description of the process. On really bad/rusty tanks I learned a trick using a cement mixer and drywall screws - bungee the tank to the cement mixer, put 1 pound of drywall screws down the filler neck and turn on the mixer. It really gets the tank clean after about an hour. The noise is kind of annoying though... 😊

Jeff Upton I used a cement mixer for an RV gas tank

The POR product appears to be liquid enough to be able to slush it all over the place. Thank you for the tip about the chain. I will use the POR and the chain, next time. Thank you.

thank you for your comments and questions. I think the POR 15 is a great product. When it was dry it was super hard and almost like a etched in coating. I could not even scratch it. was able to swirl it around everywhere easily.

Off subject question. I've looked at your videos and could not find what I was looking for. I changed the oil in my new motor and when I put the drain plate back on I tightened the nuts up too tight and stripped at least 2 of them. Those 2 wont even start on the stud anymore. How do you change out those studs? Sorry for going off topic. Thanks.

You may have to tap a little larger stud and set with loc tight. Drill ou the two holes on your plate. This will work. Remember inch pounds when tighten in aluminum.

Watching this makes me wonder, after decades and decades of paint coming in cans, be it pint, quart, or even gallons, why hasn't someone designed a paint can that is easy to pour without getting the can covered in paint? The lip is the seal, and it is near impossible to pour paint out of any can without getting is on the side. Why with such modern day technology, have we not come up with a cheaply make paint can the doesn't get messy after even the first use?

    Muriatic acid works great!!
    Be careful, it's nasty stuff!!
Do you have an opinion on red-kote?

I used Red-Kote in the last tank I cleaned. I found it a little bit too thick to be able to slush everywhere. The product works, but I think, I should have used more than 1 qrt. in a 19 gallon tank.
