Still driving this in 2022. Haven't had a single problem, brilliant on fuel and super reliable. Switching to an EV soon, but I'll keep this beauty just because of how reliable and economical it has been for me.
Really? We are looking at buying one but just want to make sure. Can you please help me understand how reliable it is? And if there are any issues? Many thanks for your time in advance!
Same here LOL. I have 2012 hyundai accent bottom of the barrel edition. Bought it back in 2012 got 31k miles on it as of now. Just replaced the original tires last year. Now she's 9years old still in good condition. It sat in the sun for 8 years too! paint is still there since it is blue! Today i have it appraised in carvana and they are buying it for $9.4k soo tempted to sell it but i still love the car!!
My wife just got one with 57,000 miles in great condition for 6000 dollars. Owned by a little old man that passed away, the son put new tires, brakes on it. My wife loves it. A very sharp little car. 28/37.
It's almost impossible to compare it to other cars in various ways. It has the best warranty, a one class size up interior. It's marketed as an economy car. There's also variations, the hatchback 5-door version in the Sport/SE trim has a Sport oriented steering calibration and with a manual 6-speed transmission it's going to perform quite differently from this reviewed sedan. It's now rated in 2015 with an award of top quality rank by J.D. Power and that's nothing to scoff at. It beat the Japanese cars at their own game. Even the prices are very fair in each trim level. There's even a new package on some models that combines the features from the top trim level to the base, which makes for a good feeling on how low the price is with those comfortable features.
This car probably just saved my life today. Some motorcycle was going over 100MPH and almost rear ended me. if it wasn't for my quick thinking and its quick stability control system I dont know what would have happened
Similar situation on the highway, a huge pickup was impatient and popped the driver back corner of my car, had it not been for its controls, I probably wouldn't have been able to pull over instead of wreck
This is my second hyundai. My first was an 09 sonata which was outstanding in almost every way. The 2012 accent is surprisingly a nice, solid driving car that feels on the road like its much more expensive competitors. Though I dont share the view of white knuckle driving, in heavy crosss winds the car will wander somewhat within the lane. If you are a calm driver it takes little to correct it. After moving up from a true cheaply built car (mazda protege), the accent does not feel, look and drive like a cheap car. This was actually quite a surprise to me. And thus far I am very happy with it. I am over 6 foot tall, and the interior room is also a plus. The fuel economy is another huge plus. From 1/4 of a tank it only took 6 gallons to fill up the car. One note: When the ECO button is pressed, the transmission will be in a constant search for the most economical gear ratio. This shifting can be odd to deal with while in city driving. Better to leave it off, until you get to a cruising speed. Then turn it on to sip on the gas.
The Nissan Versa out sells the Accent by Double figures & out sells the Yaris by Quadruple figures. The Versa comes standard with air conditioning & is $4000 cheaper & has a better smoother ride & more interior room & huge back seat. I actually wanted to get an Accent but the salesman simply wouldn't deal so I went to Nissan & got a much better deal & a great car.
If you drive on the highway at 85 and it feels solid, you must have driven the only one that didnt wander and get overcome by uneven highways and a crosswind will have you gripping the wheel with white knuckles, otherwise, it drives much better enginewise, if you turn the eco button off, then you can coast to a stop sign with out constant gear hunt
I wonder if it's worth changing my 2009 YARIS with such 2012 ACCENT ! I am on my 3rd YARIS doing food deliveries - have almost 300,000km on them - ... its epic reliability never let me down or made me loose the job ! ACCENT fuel economy seems to be a bit higher in the city driving - while better on the HWY but that doesn't matter for me too much -, much more options than the YARIS - heated seats, sunroof - and it's a ZIPPIER car as engine is considerably more powerful. But again for me RELIABILITY is the most important thing ... would it be as reliable or close to a YARIS ?
Yeah, I see what you mean, it's changed a lot of times, a lot of people called it Hyun-die and Hyun-day, but really, i don't think it really matters, it's the same brand anyways :)
I wonder what the gear ratio is on the 6th gear in the manual. I have a 2010 Accent 5 speed manual and a 6th gear would be nice when going 40 MPH or higher. I wonder what speed is needed to use the 6th gear in the 2012 car.
@lexusES350h I got a 2007 model...It is 5 years and few months old by now and it still looks and runs like day one... Just regular maintenance... Thats my daily driving car...it has 63000 miles, and all I can tell it is very reliable.... I dont expect less from this new model.
All car companies do their own internal testing to come up with MPG #s. Hyundai/Kia did not calculate them correctly when this car came out. The EPA caught the mistake and they had to fix it. This is not the first time Hyundai has made this mistake.
reasons for regretting? i'm considering getting this car but here in my country the mid level is priced the same as chevrolet sonic sedan LTZ which is a top of the line. i'm looking for a car with manual transmission but top models for the accent has only automatic :(
They offer it for a low low price! but then you have to pay a few thousand more for standard features like ABS Keyless entry power windows and automatic transmission, THAT'S HOW THEY GET YOU!!!!!!!!
Jeez, people really don't know when to use the like/dislike button. Like is when you like the video, whether it was of good quality or not... Not for what's in the video.

@@dbldonky8742 koo yeah I got about 10k on it since before n still running great. Just had one prob somebody left the light on and it killed my battery but bought a new one didn't need to replace the alternator still running great.

CONFUSED WHICH ONE I SHOULD HIT ON
HONDA CITY 2012 OR HYUNDAI ACCENT (verna) 2012???
I'm curious as to how you know the Accent is calm at 85 MPH on the highway. Certainly you didn't test it on a public road. Right?
Well I certainly hope he didn't test it on city streets. Specially on a school zone lol
Does it have bluetooth?

Hello Sir! Thank you for the review. I use the same car and the odometer reads in kilometers per hour. How can I change it to miles per hour please?
@Virnagtach Oh right! Sorry. The Elantra is in the same category as the Mazda 3 right?
All car companies do their own internal testing to come up with MPG #s. Hyundai/Kia did not calculate them correctly when this car came out. The EPA caught the mistake and they had to fix it. This is not the first time Hyundai has made this mistake.
Is this the top of the line?
So with that said, Kia rio or Hyundai accent. Yes I know they are both based on the same platform. But just between those two.
when this model is coming to india??
Personally, I think the Accent has a much better look. But it's all up to the driver, I have not driven any of the two.
@wtrdogg20 a top of the line automatic yaris se is 17960 the equivalent accent is 17300. have you seen the 2102 yaris
@ChaosFinale The Mazda 2 is in the same category, not the 3.
if the steering is vague how does it compare to toyota steering
don't get why they lowered the mpg for the accent
im gonna buy me one and put 5% tint on it and aftermarket nav. system

I wish we had that bronze colour in Australia. We don't get the GDI engine though - only the MPI 1.6L, and 4-speed automatic :(

Okay, take this from a Korean guy, Hyundai is pronounced Hyun-deh, that's how it was pronounced, but for the American market, it turned into Hyun-die.
