I’m pretty sure this is a grammar issue. Saying “everyone” is “someone’s” son, implies everyone shares a single father. Which would also be fitting for this genre
The way a very feral Evan burst through the doors fully prepared to give up on K just shows how entirely terrified he was. Like a wild animal trying to chew through its trapped leg to escape 😂
The way Brennan leaned so hard into Evan's horror at this situation was so funny considering he did this exact thing for Fig in season 1 of fantasy high and THEN ERIKA CHOOSING ORTHOPEDICS to absolutely destroy Evan's state of mind lmfao
I love that Erika chose BONES not just as a in universe callback when she killed Evan just to fix his arm, but also for Escape from the Bloodkeep. I think that was the first tabletop show she participated in with Brennan and one of the most beloved characters IN bloodkeep was Avenash aka the guy obsessed with his bones.
The golden rule of improv is "Yes And", But they were, all of them, deceived, for another Ring was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Brendan Lee Mulligan forged in secret a master Ring, "NO, BUT..."
The "special guest stars" comment gave me so many ER flashbacks. Plus, every character on Grey's Anatomy has a target on their back during the season finale.
Danielle's scream-laugh "BAH! BONES!" is maybe one of my favorite things ever said in all of Dimension 20. I also love the "Is he with you?" "He was, once" interaction. this episode was a TRIP
What Evan goes through here is silly clearly but also an interesting metaphor for stage 2 of accepting yourself with neurodivergence. We see him hate himself in s1 so much and wishing only he could be normal like others. But in this scenario, he feels like he’s the only sane one. It’s a trip to get to that point.
One of my favorite episodes of D20. Obviously any time Brennan gets to fly off the handle is fun, but contrast that with how into trope town Erika and Aabriya are and how Lou and Danielle are both kind of holding a little distance and not engaging in the same way… every moment sings.
“I’m not a character” is such a great and inadvertent call back to the first episode of the first season 😂 Personally I also loved the scene of Jammer realising Evan was right and sprinting through the hospital looking for him while singing “It’s a Small World”…
The number of times Aabria has had to fully scrap/change/skip past her world building this season has been insane 😂 What was up with the hospital?! Brennan will never let us find out!
I haven't finished the season, but my guess was that it was some type of amplification magic in effect that was making healing magic more reliable. But it was changed to be a TV show when the players were theory crafting about what was happening because it was funny.
This episode was amazing and just made me want a full season of D20 to do a TV trope filled procedural season with the cast of a court of Faye and flowers and an extra seat for Erika of course
On a deeper level this is a great examination of why these people can be great friends but them approaching this differently kinda shows how they’re romantically doomed and I’m okay with that 😂 But actually like. Please more writing of relationships that don’t work out and it’s okay actually
This entire episode was driving me crazy. I was immediately 100% reacting the same way Evan did. I would rather run around naked and bleeding than let anybody pull me into that shit
This extremely reminds me of a show called Dramaworld where an american girl went into the world of korean dramas and of the recent hulu show Chinatown interior
@mordicaiknode that would've been funny, but it doesn't really sound like something Evan would care about. Kelmp doesn't strike me as someone who kept up on OJ lore
I think he specifically screamed “W@lt D!sney is a N@zi Sympathizer!” (Censoring in case RUclips would suppress the videos reach) Brennan said Evan wouldn’t even know if that’s true, but he knows statements like that would get pulled off the air.
When Evan was like "they never have a scene in the air vents" because supposedly you couldn't have coverage in that tight space, I exclaimed out loud "famously DIE HARD, buddy"... I mean, it wasn't a multi-camera TV medical drama or anything, but my brain immediately rejected the thesis and then started naming more and more movies with scenes in air vents. 🕯️ come out to the coast, we'll get together, have a few laughs...
I'd argue it means that Evan, not Brennan, hasn't seen Die Hard. I'm betting everything I own that BLM knows it, because Jack Manhattan's character exists in Never Stop Blowing Up.
It's one of those things LARPers (Live Action Role Play-ers) do when they need to say something that "out of character". So for instance, you're LARPing and you're in the scene as your character, but you gotta tell another LARPer something that's out of character, if you held a hand up to your forehead you're conveying to the other LARPer that you're saying something out of character so as to not entirely break the immersion. Hope that explained it okay for you!
"Oh wait. We're special guest stars"
"Oh shit, we could die"
I fucking love these lines.
"He was... once." "Goddamnit." they have my favorite dynamic of ALL time
"Everyone is someone's son" is such a genre-fitting thing to say, and it's not even remotely true 😂
@@MrDanlancelotI mean, not necessarily, I’m a trans man so I can get pregnant. Theoretically everyone could be someone’s son .
There is also the idea is that a lot of people who were orphaned or abandoned without being adopted or fostered aren't really someone's child aswell
I’m pretty sure this is a grammar issue. Saying “everyone” is “someone’s” son, implies everyone shares a single father. Which would also be fitting for this genre
It’s technically half-true! 😀
@@samuelyoung7856 It might, but it also implies that everyone is a "son," which is also wrong but hilariously on point for the genre.

The way Brennan leaned so hard into Evan's horror at this situation was so funny considering he did this exact thing for Fig in season 1 of fantasy high and THEN ERIKA CHOOSING ORTHOPEDICS to absolutely destroy Evan's state of mind lmfao
If he had a wand, he'd be chewing on it.
I love that Erika chose BONES not just as a in universe callback when she killed Evan just to fix his arm, but also for Escape from the Bloodkeep. Oh my god I forgot about fig and the doctor 😂
k's dream and evan's worst nightmare lol
Funnily enough, she used to go by Dream and Evan basically is a nightmare.
Evan trying to talk sense to K and Jammer sounds like Woody flipping out on Buzz thinking he's a space ranger.
oh my god, you're absolutely right :D
“YOU ARE A WIZARD”
“You are a sad, small little man, and you have my pity.”
*_HELP_*
Helps that Kemp was wrongly associating stuff too
I love when Brennan talked about how as an improv person he wanted to lean in, but for Evan (famously Not A Character) this would be a nightmare
The golden rule of improv is "Yes And", But they were, all of them, deceived, for another Ring was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Brendan Lee Mulligan forged in secret a master Ring, "NO, BUT..."
It's not what his character would do...
@@adcon00yeah…that’s the point of what this comment is saying
@@Dengarde There's a larger context to my comment that you're missing.
Evan is how i imagined Odessyus in the Odyssey was like with the Sirens
Dr. K, M.D.
Specializes in Bones.
I love your Lancer pfp!
The "special guest stars" comment gave me so many ER flashbacks. Plus, every character on Grey's Anatomy has a target on their back during the season finale.
Aabria incredulous at the 71, looking to Brennan as if looking for confirmation from her DM buddy xD
That was a pure moment of DM to DM incredulity and it was beautiful.
“There’s an explosive danger in the hospital” not device. A danger of the explosive variety.
“there’s never a scene in the air ducts” bro has clearly never watched big time rush
Danielle's scream-laugh "BAH! BONES!" is maybe one of my favorite things ever said in all of Dimension 20. I also love the "Is he with you?" "He was, once" interaction. this episode was a TRIP
aabria is the most genius world builder ever because i would SHIT if i found myself here
Apparently the whole thing with the hospital was yes and… so it means that the players created this with there own anxiety and it’s great
@Tm-dn9ob Yeah like none of it was bad, it just amplified stuff. Which they started making bad by introducing other narratives
I love this idea!!! It’s insane how well they can all balance chaotic comedy and character development!
One of my favorite episodes of D20. Obviously any time Brennan gets to fly off the handle is fun, but contrast that with how into trope town Erika and Aabriya are and how Lou and Danielle are both kind of holding a little distance and not engaging in the same way… every moment sings.
Brennan going full Truman show is incredible.
Brennan and Erika played the polar opposite ends of the "yes and" spectrum perfectly
Playing the Little Mermaid was genius though.
“I’m not a character” is such a great and inadvertent call back to the first episode of the first season 😂
Personally I also loved the scene of Jammer realising Evan was right and sprinting through the hospital looking for him while singing “It’s a Small World”…
Or "Evan's big bad no-no day"
Evan doing his best Aguefort impression

I haven't finished the season, but my guess was that it was some type of amplification magic in effect that was making healing magic more reliable. But it was changed to be a TV show when the players were theory crafting about what was happening because it was funny.
I love that even with Evan being largely unsocialized and homeless for the majority of his life, he understands the hospital TV tropes so well
This episode was amazing and just made me want a full season of D20 to do a TV trope filled procedural season with the cast of a court of Faye and flowers and an extra seat for Erika of course
I never thought this could be true, but apparently I am Evan Kelmp.
genuinely so funny watching Evan just lose his mind
I need "everyone is someone's son" merch 😂

“BOO, NOT REAL.”
This entire episode was driving me crazy. I was immediately 100% reacting the same way Evan did. I would rather run around naked and bleeding than let anybody pull me into that shit
This is right up there with Fabian’s Bad Day in terms of greatest moments in Dimension 20.
I love the scene you put at the start, really sets the tone for the rest of the video 😂
I hope we find out what got bleeped one day, this whole experience was top tier
He said Walt Disney was a nazi sympathizer.
I can kind of read his lips past the bar, I'm pretty sure he said "9/11 was an inside job"
A lot of people on the D20 clip said he was saying Walt Disney was a Nazi sympathizer
This extremely reminds me of a show called Dramaworld where an american girl went into the world of korean dramas and of the recent hulu show Chinatown interior
Oh shit. Evan said, "9-11 was an inside job," didn't he?
I was guessing it was a callback to Lou stating the official company position on OJ...
@mordicaiknode that would've been funny, but it doesn't really sound like something Evan would care about.
Kelmp doesn't strike me as someone who kept up on OJ lore
@@zacharybosley1935 homie loves his Little Mermaid though.

That whole episode was perfect, but I will forever be upset if we don't learn what was up with the hospital.
Brennan is a wonder of the world, I swear
This is my favourite part of the season, a top ten in d20 history
"I'M NOT A CHARACTER!" Does he know?
This episode was my favorite. I've never laughed as hard as I did watching this

I'd argue it means that Evan, not Brennan, hasn't seen Die Hard. I'm betting everything I own that BLM knows it, because Jack Manhattan's character exists in Never Stop Blowing Up.
I don’t think he was talking about any media, just specifically medical dramas lol

But theres a “HOTTUB” in the hospital!
Great thumbnail
I really want to know what they bleeped out, anybody out there know?
