@@tigernotwoods914 - Maybe partly, but then at that time (before the end of the WWII), Germany didn't have a lot of U-bots that could transport a large amount of gold.
The story is more complex and pretty much nobody is mentioning that. The the Germany had a lot of gold and art hidden in various lakes (whole properly secured crates), or tunels (with trains) - all mostly done before the end of the World War II (as they were simply hidding that stuff at that point).
Then Yalta and Potsdam happened (where it has been decided that the Polish eastern border would follow the Curzon Line, and Poland would receive territorial compensation in the west from Germany).
And a large part of Germany suddendly become part of Poland. A lot of land actually, with a lot of mountains and lakes. Plenty of stories there, regarding those tunnels, and people searching for them especially in the 1950-1960s. A lot of them from Germany, most likely a former high officers from Nazi army, that suddendly were comming to Poland on "holidays". The legend was growing. Even in 1970s, people who were trying to find those treasures were going "missing"... (as that part of the Poland stil has a lot of families with a German background).
Most common area was in Owl Mountains, and plenty of people have been searching for those treasures since then (skip the story about Nazi gold train from 2016, that was just a small local story, a legend). But plenty of other research has been done, and even books written about the subject.
Note: most likely location? In one of the vaults in one of the Swiss banks, as it would be easily accessible after the war. And very likely some of the high ranking officers in German army knew that the war was lost back in 1944 - and had plenty of time to move the large amount of gold, art, documents to other locations - much closer and easy accessible after the war (than Argentina where Mossad agents were searching for high ranking Nazis like crazy). Besides, a lot of them had worked for a German goverment after the war, in various Government offices (a lot actually!), and had plenty opportunities to get to that in un-official way later on.

I remember some tunnels that were made nigh at the end of the nazis war, they were lethally radioactive even with equipment, perhaps they made it that way to cover their tracks?

Ok, so I have a question 100 tons of gold is about the size of a plane. Are you saying no one in any town remembers seeing random building going on be a decent operation to hide a planes worth of gold. Just to dig it up and sell it on the free market.
A plane worth is a rather vague way to measure the volume of 100 tons of gold. A more descriptive way is 100 tons of gold occupies approximately 183 cubic feet. Probably much less than one would think.
There’s plenty of ways to hide that amount of gold. And plenty of ways to make sure it wasn’t traced.

I strongly believe that the Nazis stashed their most valuable treasures somewhere deep underground, such as the Owl Mountain Range in Poland. The underground bunker allegedly is extremely big and a train has been found inside.
