It's amazing how O'Brien has improved the transporter technology on DS9 so that Sisko can fight the Klingons from both the station and the Defiant at the same time it seems. He's a miracle worker.

Would true sons of kling hold any respect for the sanctity of Federation / Cardassian lavatories, or the effort O'Brien 's engineering staff put into .maintaining such a hybrid system? If the majority of the Klingon fleet concentrated their fire on one pylon until it was totally destroyed, 75% of the station's weapons would have been useless due to blind spots and what not. Then when a pylon goes, massive structural integrity for the rest of the station. It would need to put up extra shields just to hold back the crushing effects of space.

Clearly Sisko didn't give the command to fire till after the Defiant was flying around chasing a few birds of prey. Don't get me wrong, this is my favourite Star Trek franchise.
@@logon235 the station can not move in terms of keeping any pylon from being attacked from the entire fleet. When you attack a structure, you attack it's weakest link or you pick a spot and force it to be the weakest link. You may also attack from other sides to mask your true intentions, but this was just the Klingons firing at any available part of the station which was stupid. But had to be written this way because otherwise the station would have been destroyed or they would have had to surrender.
I think whoever edited this video had way too much fun gathering clips in bits and pieces from probably a dozen episodes :-) good job😊. The moral of the story is, none of the episodes were long enough to really show cool battle scenes😊

There was an episode of DS9 where some of the main characters were sent down to a planet to help defend some post or something (I know Bashir and Jake were there). In that episode, Starfleet personnel were wearing some type of body armor...but I can't recall which episode it was, only that Jake was a coward and cried like a wussy little baby.
It's fun seeing that even the Klingons have worse body armour than we do now as you would have thought that someone would have come up with at least a stab vest or similar by now.
Gowran was a great character, I loved how they paid off so many TNG characters on DS9. If anything it should get credit for fleshing out some amazing characters, though it had so many great moments of its own! I need to go back through DS9 now that I can truly appreciate the characters for what they were.

I get how Dax would be formidable, given she was once Curzon. It seems a bit of stretch that Kira would so handily down so many Klingons, though she did end up getting stabbed.

The BoP was nothing to laugh at in the right situation. This obviously however was not it. Maybe with numbers, or a surprise attack. But they also thought they were allies up until this point. And other than that, you still fight even if you have a weaker attack vehicle or ship.
I love how this video added scenes of the Cardassian attack on DS9 and the Enterprise shooting down a Klingon ship in a reality that no longer exists. Also Admiral Riker's Enterprise attacking the Klingons with a megaphaser and the Defiant attacking Klingons in an alternate reality. The original episode of DS9 was great! Leave it alone!

It's always been a peeve of mine that these "Starships" all fly around shooting at each other like they're just big fighters. Battles between these ships should have been like engagements between CAPITAL ships of the second world war.

Klingons were nerfed too much. You don't have to make enemies weaker to make the heroes look stronger. The plot armour is thick.
Why would you beam people with weapons on the enemy bridge if you could also beam a photon-torpedo on the bridge? It would end the story in a very fast and boring way. ;)

However, any boarding party would be ready to fire the moment they appeared and would likely lay down covering fire immediately regardless of seeing a target. They'd have whatever grenades klingons use. And what's to stop them from beaming in a couple piles of grenades first and then the boarding party?
There’s quite a few Klingons who were knocked UC rather than killed during the attack on DS9. It would make tactical sense to check which Klingons are still alive and eliminate them.
Jason Lee Trater I have to heavily disagree. unlike every other trek, ds9 has ACTUAL character development, and the relationships the characters have with each other feels much more genuine. the actors did a phenomenal job bringing the characters to life. it’s also nice seeing a trek show with ACTUAL plot progression, and not the basic static structure of trek where it all resets to normal the next week. there’s long term consequences, there’s arcs, there’s exciting build up. can’t just say that’s garbage lol

You are thinking of the pilot episode :Emissary. A poorly equipped DS9 faces off against 3(?) Cardassian warships, and Kira tells O'Brien to shoot 6 torpedoes across their bow, because that was all they had.
It is so hilarious to see unarmed people (including women) resisting armoured Klingons with batleths and even knocking them out. ST is laden with plot armour, that's understood, but there should be a limit to that...
The federation fought the klingons, the romulans and the cardassians with ships that were not strictly militaristic. After the Borg invasion and the Dominion War that changed. Now the power that fought wars with non purly warships started to make pure warships..... And Janeway brought back tech to the federation that could 1 shot a borg cube......
Or save energy and just transport crucial bulkheads two feet to the left. Maybe beam some of those weapons arrays to their own ships. Anything but beam unsuited soldiers to a space station they are in the process of trying to destroy. You really need to suspend disbelief and ignore all the obvious winning strategies when watching star trek. Any star trek.
Taking down the shields doesn't just give them free reign to do whatever they want. There's still other defenses in place after that to keep crew members safe and I imagine there must be some transporter overrides on the station itself to prevent enemy ships from just beaming around willy nilly. The Klingons boarded to gain control of the station and probably try and disable all other defenses to get complete control

Yeah the writers shouldn't try to be generals but, at least Sisko was shown to repeatedly attempt a cease fire even when winning.
