- The Beiguan Seventh-day Adventist Church in Shenyang, China is the largest Adventist Church in the world. It started as a small group of 10 people in a living room in 1985. Now it has a membership of more than 7,000.
Pastor Mark Finley tells how amazed he and his wife were a few years ago when they attended the Shenyang Church in China. This church is one of the largest Seventh-day Adventist churches in the world today. The church started with only nine members and now has spawned over three hundred church plants, with as many as fifty to several hundred in each plant and 7000 members.
When Pastor Mark Finley asked the pastor what the secret was to their amazing growth, he was told it was prayer! “We meet each morning from 4:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. to pray and 150 or so of our people come every day. These seasons of prayer unleash God’s power for growth and revival.
“Then Mark asked why at 4:30-so early! The pastor said it was because the people are busy professionals who need to go to work, mothers with children to take care of, and also busy students who must go to school.” So they came to pray before they started the responsibilities of the day!

I've been there, the church is so filled with the Holy Spirit that I was weeping the whole time and amazed over the organization and the holiness and primitive godliness. Praise GOD for our faithful brothers and sisters in China.

That is real Holy Ghost power working in each member as they sacrifice their time and devotion to God and not self that's why you're seeing this mighty force of God impacting the church on a high level ,we the members around the world need to pick up the torch and stand firm with conviction celebrating the living Word of God and the three angels message ,we need to stop going to church and filling up the benches and consecrate our lives, santify our selves,build up our faith with confidence in Christ an we'll be a shining force within our communities, God is asking us His people to stand up ,to declare we're His sheep and once we give all of our best then He will light the torch ablaze with interceeding victory, O hallelujah to our God who is more than able to give us that power of prayer and staying power to stand still and behold the glory of God.,like those members they give if themselves unselfishly thats why their church is a lighthouse upon a hill. God blessing to each of them.

Doesnt the Chinese have their own sabbath church? True jesus church
I watched the clip a second time to see whether my initial impression was correct. I did see a few men in the congregation but there seem to be a supermajority of women. Can someone tell is what the ratio is and whether someone has an explanation for that - especially if the ratio is more than 2 to 1?
Worshiped in this church when I was an international student in China and yes a large majority of the members are females probably 70% especially among the elders, the youth were almost 50 50. As to why it's so I can't really give an explanation .
@@jossysumwaga572 Thanks for responding. I like to think of myself as a "student" of trends across time and across countries (or different areas of a country like the United States). The way various SdA congregations are organized (or not organized) varies in the United States from one local conference to another and also according to size of the congregations. When I was a boy in the 1940s and '50s, SdA pastors and "evangelists" emphasized resting on the sabbath day. I seldom hear anything about that anymore. That emphasis has been replaced by an emphasis on attending worship services on the sabbath day.
When I was a boy, there weren't many sermons about political topics and (it seemed to me) the only political topic ever addressed in sermons was freedom from coercion with regard to religious beliefs, religious practices and religious prohibitions.
I suppose there are still SdA pastors who limit their references to political topics in sermons to that subject but, in English (at least here in the United States) there are key words that are employed by politicians to get their followers excited enough to vote - and I'm sad to report that some SdA clergy use some of those same words in ways that seem intended to either influence people's political views or persuade people that the clergy lean one way or another on political issues.
As I was reading your response to my question, it occured to me that China is one of the places in the world where SdA clergy have (presumably) learned to avoid even using key words that would indicate what their political preferences are.

Hi a careful study of the bible, will reveal that the 10 commandments were not done away with. The sabbath was given at the foundation of the world, the health laws as well, additionally there is a sanctuary in heaven as Paul talks about in Hebrews and it also gives light regarding the time period in which we live in and how we are to conduct ourselves as Christians, all of these bring freedom not a yoke of bondage. Walking with Jesus is freedom from sin not freedom to sin. Blessings. If would like deep bible studies on these subject I would recommend the RUclips channel, "the Adventist Defense league". They do bible only studies to reveal what the word of God truly says. if not study these subjects carefully on your own asking the Lord to reveal what is right and what is wrong. May the God of Israel keep you and save you until the day of Judgement.

@@michaelbentil1702 which Jesus? Coz Jesus of the Bible will not contradict it. In God we have to obey His order. Church positions must follow God's order , like a family we have: father, mother and children. The Church we have God the Father, Jesus and the Church. Church positions: pastors= men ,prophecy = AnyChurch member, evangelism = Any Church member, Elders = men, Deacons= men, Deaconesses= women that's according to the Word of God (Bible).
She started the fellowship in her house while some are thinking of ordination. We sleep, fail to start the work and after someone has taken the step of faith to work for Christ we bring in our righteousness. Some of us cannot even open our doors to strangers to share the Gospel.of Christ because we think some may later on come and take our worldly possessions.
Was she to start it and invite a man to lead the same.
The church is currently being led astray by men.

So many times we're obsessed with the messenger and fail to heed the message. Jeremiah, Isaiah etcetera all met with opposition. They were men. Sister White's messages have become rare in the church. She was a woman.

Her starting the fellowship is not the problem because women are supposed to be part and parcel of evangelism and every other duty that is required of them.Her being ordained as a pastor because she STARTED it is not in order with that which the Bible clearly states,we serve a God of order and so things don't just run anyhow they have to run somehow 🙏..Women ought to be in ministry but they CAN'T be ordained thats far from what the Bible says....Lets take heed PRAY and STUDY because Jesus is at the door and the devil is working tirelessly to make us compromise where possible.
First of all, Adventist are not listening to what God told the church members through the Prophetess Ellen White and that is NOT TO HAVE THESE LARGE BUILDING AND LARGE MEMBERSHIP IN ONE PLACE. Also WOMEN ARE NOT TO BE ORDAINED AS PASTORS. Remember, just like the days of old during the time of the Hebrews, most of them were not saved, but were lost, so it will be with the Adventists because they do not follow God's Law and Testimony.

@@rovanopong9613 Yes there are? Go check the provincial and state conferences directory and you will see - there was even one a few years back a husband and wife both pastors - the general conference doesn't approve of it, but local district conferences are doing it anyway - Wake Up to Truth!!!
