A little later than I anticipated but I’ve finally completed this cover of BATTLE AGAINST THE WORLD from Deltarune: Chapter Rewritten!!!
This took SO much time to complete (I had it in development even before the maelstrom video came out), probably the most effort I’ve put into an MV for a while haha
I wanted to take a lot more creative liberties so It’s more than just a cover, so I made the intro more like the original BAaTH, then added more variations throughout (sampling Field of Hopes and Dreams, touhou reference, chord progressions from BAaTH, etc.)
For the visuals, I wanted to push my limits and go all out for the final video of 2022, and because I love this song so much, hopefully they are good, albeit a bit... much haha (hence the flashing lights warning lmao)
It was really fun to cover these songs from chapter rewritten!! Thank you all for supporting me thus far!! I hope to be able to improve and become a better musician the coming year!! Cheers ;D

Yknow what I just realized- I love how this remix makes junkil feel like the hero even tho he really isnt yk- Like he’s CONVINCED he’s helping you because he can do anything with his idea of “YOU need ME” as opposed to spamtons “I need YOU” which is like very similar to jevils character from the first chapter- makes junkils character super fun and interesting to me

The lyrics at the end could fit pretty well for the weird/gravebuster route as that would be when Junkil finally gets to be the hero he wanted to be, and it even fits with how the lyrics say "path of genocide" even if it isn't a full genocide
I love the concept of Chapter Rewritten’s Freedom Leitmotif being swapped with Don’t Forget. Super cool idea since they’re the two most recognizable motifs from the game.

Ah what a lovely remix of Battle Against the World, lots of neat references, definitely wasn’t expecting Flandre Scarlet to hijack the song and insert her theme midway, but if you think about it Jevil and Flandre do have similarities to each other (and would probably get along if they were to canonically meet). Also, thanks to the MOTI reference, this is the best remix ever.

I like the way you put visual of shadow puppet or we called wayang in Indonesia, because Junkil Redux is really has similarity to wayang. And the way you put Flandre theme is symbolize how insane Jevil/Junkil just like Flandre.
And one more thing I like, you put a lot visual and Undyne reference. It's like you and other people want to make other people to look for Undyne, since I saw her coolness and greatness doesn't get much spotlight. And now, it's time to rewritten the world's view, view. Uee hee hee.

I honestly have no clue how you do it. I thought the Big Shot song and editing was top-notch but this is just a fever dream in and of itself. I don't remember the part at 2:34 - 2:43 being in the original, but if you decided to add it on a whim, then know that it does wonders making an already-superb remix even better and really shows the passion you put into these. AND THE RADIO CRACKS sprinkled throughout the song! THAT WAS A GREAT TOUCH ON YOUR PART!

My gripe with most other "Battle against the world" remixes is that the lyrics were too garbled or to quite to hear well and even if you knew what the lyrics were saying it was still kind of hard to hear them, but with bigshot if you knew the lyrics you could hear them almost perfectly.
But that might just be me.
