I love the idea of taking jevil's "I can do anything" line and making into the kind of salesman "with me on your side kid, anything is possible"

It also seems like they take concepts similar to their conterpar5s yet different so scampton sews the world like a boardgame to parallel jevils cardgame theme and uses game speak like "ping" and "snakes n laders" where as junkil is similar to spamton but instead of a spam ad he's like junk mail promising you he can help you achieve all your greatest desires he also seems to speak using Morse code as his voice

I've always liked swap AUs, because it lets people re-imagine how certain parts of a game may be presented or made. For instance, this AU could have queen's chapter be a techno wasteland to match the first chapter's more out-in-the wild areas, and king's could be a Vegas like gambling city, to match his playing card aesthetic
King being attached to a gambling city is a really cool idea, not just because of his connections to cards, but his status as “king” providing him wealth. As seen in his throne room.

IDK why but Rewritten Jevil/‘Junkil’ feels like the personification of much more upfront, malicious malware (especially the flashy late 90’s type) compared to how Spamton is sort of personified adware/potentially unwanted programs/spam E-mails
Also Rewritten King’s spade “face” looking much more like a mouse cursor is an adorabel detail

I really like the idea of a attribute swap instead of a literal character swap, removing the jester from Jevil but retaining his freedom/Devil motifs to make a extremely malicious character (I didn’t know how you could make Spamton even more Evil, yet you somehow did it!)
I also like how you went with a different stereotypical businessman design for Junkil. He doesn’t have the slick 50s style haircut, instead he has a older even more sleazy appearance.
I guess Scampton is Jevils jester motifs put onto Spamtons big aspirations/want for the Soul? That sounds like a intriguing concept.

Spamton, based purely on his actions in game, used a kid to obtain power and then tries to murder them, and this is after selling them unauthorized goods which can poison them. And in snowgrave he sells you an item to fuel your genocide, and actively says he sold it to you so you could do genocide
And in his backstory he gets so obsessed with fame he pushes away his friends by mistake, and his personality, although possibly not his own (that’s for other theories), is still a rotten sleezbag

Alright, I absolutely love how you kept the two characters' respective speech quirks and modified them to fit their new roles. Scampton uses tabletop game terms instead of gameshow/salesman terms in brackets and Jevil's original quirk of repeating words at the ends of sentences gets turned into Junkil just overall repeating stuff and glitching more and more every time he does it.
The Beetlejuice vibes of this guy are fucking amazing lmao. Can't wait for scampton

My headcanon is that instead of being a former successful business/salesman, jevil was a former successful carnival owner.
This would explain his motto or saying being "with me you can do anything!" As if that is what he'd tell people that he was attempting to recruit into his carnival, tickling their ears with promises of using their wacky attributes to make money and entertain.

I'd like to think he's more of a formerly successful TV game show host. Like his overall look makes me think he's more enthusiastic and cheerful than a carnival owner
It is heavily implied that gaster had some kind of influence over Jevil and Spamton’s perception of the reality they live in. Whether they know they’re in a game or they know that they exist in a world within a world is unknown, but they reacted to this information very differently. Jevil accepted this fact and found freedom in the premise that nothing they did really made an impact in the big picture, while Spamton felt trapped by the ordeal and searched for any hope of achieving “freedom” which is much more of a state of mind than an achievable goal. Even when Spamton got everything he wanted, he still needed more, and even if he got the human soul I doubt he would’ve ever been freed from the strings. Spamton became a puppet being guided towards an unachievable goal, and as much as the strings control him he cannot live without them. This switch making Jevil the trapped one and Spamton free is extremely well executed in the music and the artwork. Awesome.

these ideas are so unique, i completely forgot deltarune had its own aus like undertale and remixed like these are so cool to listen to
I like Deltarunes Aus so much more because with undertale and underswap it was so easy to put the pieces together, switch the brothers, switch the lovers, switch the King and queen, switch the two main characters. In Deltarune there can be an argument made for multiple characters filling a single role. For example i think Jevil should be swapped with Sean while others think he should be swapped with Spamton. Its so much harder to put the pieces together but that just forces Au creators to be a bit more creative instead of giving Papyrus a Cigarette.
@@heavywalrus1443i think this specific AU is more about swapping character between chapters that share the same roles. So the two secret bosses and the two main bosses, then the light world characters get swapped the typical way (swap the siblings and the lovers)

That and the alternate routes have been gaining traction, and I expect those to be pretty big given the chapter structure! AUs are daunting because unlike UT, DR isn't finished. But UT never had so much potential for things like the Salt and Devil routes!

Spamton is about a quick trick to get your money, this guy looks like he’s gonna sell you a timeshare and have you paying him for the rest of your life
hes meant to be more convincing since junkil represents maleware while spamton is spam mail, spamton doesn't have much to bargain, he just claims to lend you freedom if you help him achive it, while junkil makes sure to gain your trust while not only promising, but giving a funky first impression
junkil is "you can trust me" while spamton is "you just gotta trust me"
You combined both of my favorite deltarune characters into one character. You are a genius
THIS IS AWSOME! XD I only would've liked it to have been longer, something like a 20-30 second bridge. But other than leaving me wanting even more, this really captures the Deltarune/Tobey Fox tone. both the track and the artwork really drive home the "flipped roles" narrative in a way that feels bizarre but right.
Even the premise sounds like something Tobey could make for a chapter or 2 of Deltarune later on.

I’m really excited for the music and designs of this AU, just this one song alone has set the tone and I’m all for it. I will say, I’m a little sad this isn’t just a Darkner Swap, as I feel a completely swap AU is just unnecessary and doesn’t mean much, I mean Undyne teacher does absolutely nothing for the story. HOWEVER, I do love Junk and Scamp, and I’m excited to hear their songs, especially with how I can hear the Undyne motif in Junk which means he’s getting an Undying form, which is pretty cool.
one of my favorite parts is how repeating words glitches the text. jevil is know for repeating words (chaos, chaos), so having this as an attribute of the character design is genius in my opinion.

I honestly like the swapped designs. Having spamton look like a jester really fits especially with his long nose and goofy look, while jevil looks like some sketchy guy who sells bootleg items which fits fake scam and spam emails.

I love the inclusion of Morse Code in replacement of the Telephone, since Junkil is apparently more a failed TV Presenter than a Salesman

Not that I don't absolutely LOVE his design, but I hope during the finer tune ups of these (inevitable) chapters that will be made, his design is tattered up a bit to fit the more "fallen off" salesman, because in this? He doesn't look like a crazy dumpster guy who wants to steal your soul! He looks like a loan shark you would get a beer with! I dunno, I LOVE his design, and it wouldn't kill me if they didn't change it, but maybe a cracked lens on the glasses or some scuff on the suit would be a nice touch.

ehh, not really. in all honesty jevil was a bit of a one-note character with a bit of mystery behind him, so I think that scampton turned out pretty good for what they had to work with.

I have some ideas for other characters for the rewritten au.
Noelle and berdly - noelle could have an ice climber outfit in the dark world like berdly's falco outfit
The mysterious man behind the tree who gives you an egg - the mysterious woman behind the tree who gives you a whole chicken.
Either switching ralsei and susie or switching ralsei with asriel and susie with lancer(?)
And finally, the only change to kris is their name, to be changed to chris. Or not, these are just my ideas that I want to ramble off to the void before I forget.
It was confirmed on the au's tumblr page that Berdly swaps with Lancer due to their similar roles in the stories of chapters 1 and 2 respectively.

The character Ralsei swaps with is unknown but judging by the Asriel-Kris swap, its probably either Frisk, Chara, or both.

(And here is one I'm not certain about)

Mike makes more sense because he's a distant friend to jevil that did remove him.
BUT in the NEXUS video showcase, during the flashback is Seam with a cord for a tail and is evilly smiling, like the theory Tasque Manager threw Spamton into the acid.
I do not know any more, I will update as more updates exist, but that is all.

I'm usually not a fan of AU 'Nows you chance to be a/Big Shot' mixes, mostly for the way they use their vocals, (usually they're way too loud and in the foreground, and that bothers me for some reason) but this caught me by surprise. I wasn't expecting remixes after subbing from Dial-Tone Telephone, but I'm looking forward to more!
