  • A "to be continued" video of ice fishing 2015. Not much for fish but it was fun. Zachary comes out one day. Other people catch fish. Some nice ice fishing houses. A plane lands on the lake and then takes off. Great times. I return to MN on March 15th to ice fish again.

    Aloha Joe. Ive been watching your channel for a while now and I must say, I totally enjoy your channel. Especially the segments that you have on fishing. I was born and raised in Hawaii), and except for 6 years in the military, have live here all of my life (60 years). I grew up fishing, hiking, hunting, etc., but I must say, fishing is a part of my blood. In recent years, I have been watching and have become very interested in ice fishing. So much so that it has made my "bucket list". I have never gone ice fishing before and it looks like a lot of fun. I guess the reason that I am writting is to say thank you. I have enjoyed living life through your experiences. Currently, I have been bed ridden for the past three years and, haven't been able to go fishing like I used to. Anyways, just wanted to say that I enjoy watching you ice fish. I first started watching your channel when you lost your pole to a fish. I was tired of seeing guys catch a lot of fish and throw them back. I thought, hey, here's an average guy doing something that he enjoys and he is going to eat what he catches. Been watching you since. Anyways, keep up the awesome videos and aloha.

    Thanks for taking us fishing! As evidenced by your video, it isn't always catching! Great to watch some of the other things going on around you. Always fun to be with the son! Thanks again.

    I always enjoyed seeing what ideas people came up with for ice houses up north. Very creative sometimes! Love it!

    Great! I love watching these in hopes to watch your pole dive through the ice. Well that won't happen with your ingenuity tying it to your truck. I never laughed so hard as the time your pole went in the hole. I mean this in all fun by the way. I am a huge fan. Thanks for the vid Joe.

    NICE boots!!!
    Love the fancy drop down shacks....but the home built ones are the coolest....I have had 3 of the homemade ones....one we had to chainsaw up on the lake to get it off!
    I am back to portable ones.....

    I know exactly where this was - that open water at the end of the vid - I've sunk both a snowmobile and an ATV in there - woops. I never knew the little lake off Hwy 10 was this deep. I'll be more respective of it during early/late season snowmobiling in the future. I'm not big into fishing of any sort, but an area to try is turn off Hwy 10 into Clear Lake and make a RT on the first road after you cross the tracks. There are a bunch of smaller lakes that people seem to forget are there.

    Joe, I recommend you buying the Navionics App on your phone. It has a ton of the Minnesota lake maps charted with pretty accurate depths. It'll def help you out when you're looking for your spot to fish.

    Ya know, Joe if you brought your cordless and a 3/4" spade bit you could make yourself some rod holders... Oh, and tell Zach he's got that bow strung backwards...

    Omg Joe. I just had a total brain fart. I thought you were going to dig through the ice with the small sledge you were using to mark the holes. Lol

    Been to Camp lake a dozen times never really had any luck. The last lake looked like Briggs, best luck I've had for walleyes around here. Some days i catch more walleyes than pike. I usually fish north of the crowd once you get on the lake around the end of the submersed point 14-16 foot of water. My most productive days i set a tip up with a shiner in one hole and jig a lipless crankbait with internal rattles in the other. I get most bites on the tip up, but see the fish check out the rattling crankbait on the flasher then they see the shiner and the flag usually goes up on the tip up shortly after. Don't catch much on the jigging line unless the fish are really aggressive when weather conditions are prime, but even on the slowest days i can get a couple on the tip up with live bait.

    I don't know where your at, but if looking for crappies, I've got good crappies on West Rush lake near Rush city and on cross lake in North Branch.

    I noticed you drove up pretty close to that ice house at the 5:50 mark...people seem to get easily agitated when others drive that close...

    Hey Joe what city do you duck hunt nearby? I know you probably don't want to go around telling people of your spots however. Really appreciate your videos. Family and I have our own place in Northern Minnesota and whenever I watch your videos it brings out the great spirit of the outdoors! Keep up the good work on the videos!

    • @ryanbuck2128
      @ryanbuck2128 9 лет назад

      GASP!! But that would be illegal in MN... How could you? I'll have no choice but to report you to the nearest conservation officer... But actually nah I could care less if you used perch as bait as long as you weren't catching them and throwing them on the ice to die without eating them.

    • @xXGAMESPROXx
      @xXGAMESPROXx 9 лет назад

      no in mi if you use the same fish in the same water its ok but i did not know that in mn
      but if you take the fish to diffrent water its illegal lol
