My Heart goes out to Meat Loaf's Family, both Personal & Professional. Karla was the first person I thought of when I heard he passed. Rest in Peace Meat.
I forgot he died of Covid-19. Very sad. R.I.P
I love him him so much when my son was 4 I was playing a meat loaf cassette and I looked back and he was singing his heart out..it was a wonderful day
So cute, and still a non-stop talker! LOL!! He is the best, but I don't think people realized it back then. Maybe because Paradise was so funny they chalked him off as just a comic singer, and didn't pay attention to his amazing vocals, or his other songs. I always thought he was so underrated, and love that people are finally becoming aware of just how genius he is.
And I have cancer now I can't tell you how many times I listen to meat a week
Karla sang back up vocals on Blue oyster cult 's, Agents of Fortune album , along with Patti Smith,1976!
She’s been married to Robby Benson since 1982
The interview is from Countdown '78 where Meatloaf received the Top 40 award which he got for reaching the top spot with his single Paradise By The Dashboard Light. Karla is a hottie here.
She is… and she’s a genuine sweetheart too. Since he probably wouldn’t have won the award without her, I wish he’d have let her get a few sentences in. Lol.
Love Meatloaf, so underated!🥰
Karla is gorgeous
Never be another like Meat Loaf. A true artist and gentle soul.
The only other back up singer who came close to matching Meat Loaf s voice were Ellan Foley ,Karla Devitto , and Pattie Russo ,. who by the way, was with Meat Loaf for 13 years . Pattie Russo had the depth and maturity in her voice range to match that of Meat Loaf.
Meat loaf forever
Meat Loaf his band - Jim Stanmam the song writer -
Karla - background singer -
meat loaf s name Michael Lee Aday .....
RIP Meat Loaf
what a fantastic discovery!
miss you Meat
Please upload any Jim Steinman interviews, please. 😊
He talks about the "next album", which would not be released until 1981, but as a Jim Steinman solo Bad for Goodironic that Meat Loaf jokes here that "no, I'm not planning on leaving Meat Loaf", but that's what he did. He also mentions Stark Raving Love which would end up on Bat out of Hell 2 in 1993. Karla is so hot and Meat Loaf is all over her during the shows. So glad this was before the Taliban era of Me Too. . Actually after the '78 tour she left and has been married to Robby Benson (the lucky duck) since 1983.
Actually after the '78 tour she left and has been married to Robby Benson (the lucky duck) since 1983. - 1) in 1979, Karla also worked on the solo album Bad For Good with the author Jim Steinman, Rory Dodd and other band members without Meat Loaf, who had lost his voice; 2) she and Robby got married in 1982.
What did you mean by ''the Taliban era of Me Too''?
FFS Karla ! Let Meat speak will you!...
I wish they got around to release Renegade Angel and Meat didn't lose his voice. Would have been an awesome album. I mean he sang most of the Bad For Good songs later in his career anyway, everything but Stark Raving Love, but I wish they could all have been in an album together because I would have played the s h i t out of it.
I'm agree it would have been an awesome album. I would also like to hear a duet between Meat Loaf and Karla Devito singing in her real voice.
What’s really interesting about Renegade Angel, since you bring it up, is that I recall reading the songs were in a handwritten notebook that was stolen from Jim Steinman (out of his dressing room I believe) during the Bat Out of Hell tour, and never recovered. Jim rewrote the songs from memory. I’ve always wondered how the original lost drafts might have differed from what we got on the album Bad for Good, and where that notebook is today….
Is Karla related to Danny DeVito.? My condolences to Meat Loafs family. He has left a huge empty space.
She Is not.
God I was 8 years old
Meat did the eulogy at his own funeral.
i have the feeling that carla da vito and ellen foley are not such a good friends with Meat. but perhaps i am totally wrong. but for me Patti russo is the best. i wish everyone the best. rest in peace Meat loaf great performer carla etc to.

Well you can take a few minutes and you should because your voice rested 3 - 4 minutes and that doesn't sound a lot but it is. But it's your show but it's not worth it to wear your voice out. You're different enough. You're an actor, you write long songs, you see writing songs as a football game. The song wasted youth is wicked sick. It's the start of a play. You're different enough.
I’m a fan of Meat Loaf, but not his interviews. He just rambles away thinking he’s interesting. After a couple of minutes you are bored at listening to this garbage. You can’t have a conversation with Meat Loaf…..it’s a total one way conversation. I felt so sorry for Karla having to endure this.
That said, his heart was in the right place and his music is great.
ok lets see your album and your interviews then since you're so good
