Nice work Shaun. I did that in reverse on an 1150GSA. It rained from the second creek all the way to Nundle. Now that was an adventure I'd like to forget.
@@RozalynVeersma Hi Rozzie. I was stuffed, cold and wet. The fire at Nundle pub never felt so good😊. I might be heading over your way later in the year to see my young fella. I'll be looking for some advice on places to see down south if you're still around.
When you first said water crossing with your Aussie accent my mind screamed crocodiles 🤣 Can't help it, those things scare the crap out of me 😁 Thanks for sharing the video and hope to see many more in the future, always entertaining stuff!
We have those crossings here in Texas and they are nothing to mess with. When you go down, it's quick and hard, and slamming into the concrete. The only way to cross them is slow and with both feet down.
That looks like a challenging but rewarding ride Sean. Great scenery With ice skating to go with it . Hope Alex pulls up OK that concrete is as hard as tree branches 😉. Good to see some drone footage adds a new dimension well done .
Looks like fun! Done a few of those roads, and dealt with the ice skating causeways - super sketchy! Nice clip, was good to see the water crossings and rolling country again 😎👍
Love that ride and the area up there. First causeway heading in from Elerston way claimed my brother in law. I was in front I sat down aimed for wheel track pulled the clutch in and coasted through. Muggins was standing up as all BMW riders do I don't think he was vertical and she slid out from under him. Easy done they are more dangerous than the creek crossings. Great clip thanks
Hello. I like your videos. Although (or maybe because) you're very good rider, you are modest and calmly ignore all those trends to be loud and cocky. I'm amazed with your bike choice. Expected something powerful like 701. Respect. Maybe I'll get one too. I have more pavement before reaching interesting stuff though. Keep it up! Thanks.
Thanks for your comments. I'm only a small-ish guy, 5'9" and 69kg so the little CRF300 Rally suits me fine. I had a Africa Twin and loved it for touring, but it was too big and heavy for me to take on rougher tracks because it was so hard to turn around or pick up if I dropped it. With the little 300, I can confidently take it anywhere.
Did the exact same ride on New Year’s Day and ended up with broken leg on the first causeway at the start of your video I did roll through standing up and then the rear overtook the front and came down hard on my knee. I knew something was bad but didn’t find out until we got home the next day back to Nowra on the south coast.
Yep….challenging trail for sure! 😱😂👍🏁 I did it in reverse with 2 drops in total! 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😂 My buddy Mark did an awesome pirouette on the final mossy crossing then we final arrived in Moonan Flat through those stunning rolling hills. Magical ride I won’t forget in a hurry! 😂🙏 Great adventure lads. How’s your mates knee?! 🤞😁🍀
Great little video, like ice indeed 😂 one of the most challenging crossings I did at Cape York was something similar lol. Love your work mate 16 minutes to change the tyre, very impressed. As you know I had all sorts of trouble with the 606. I take it that is a maxis desert like your front? 120 90 18?? from your comment I assume it goes on and off easily enough might have to try one myself.
Hi Tony, thanks for your comments. The rear tyre is a Maxxis IT 100 18, not the Desert. I is a softer carcass and didn't like to be ridden on when flat. I hope to test the Desert rear soon.
What tyres are you running and are you happy with them? I had D606s on my WR. Lucky to never have a flat. I've heard some claim they're hard to get on and off. That'll be my next mod, as the trails are only getting more muddy lately
I originally tried StarCross 5's and I liked them. I then tried Maxxis Desert front and the Maxxis IT rear. I liked the front, but the rear i'm sure if I like the rear. I'm currently try a Pirelli MT43 rear and liking it. I've used D606 rear in the past on other bikes and like them. I don't like the D606 front though. The D606 is easy enough to change if you heat them up first by laying them in the sun or changing them ASAP when you get a flat. Any tyre that is cold will be a pain to change.
@@ShonkyProductions That link didn’t work for me. I’m curious what you swapped to because I’m still running stock and was about to buy the Moto X exhaust based on your 550 Performance video but thought I’d check first to see if you ended up moving on to a different exhaust
@@2wheels.are.better.than4 It's just a different muffler on the Moto-X exhaust. I changed it because I like the look of the twin outlet muffler better and I wanted my bike to be different. Plus, I like to tinker with things. The Moto-X is an excellent exhaust and I still recommend it.
I love Nundle so much, thanks for posting
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it.
Nicely made video.
We’ll done. That is a great ride. I really enjoyed it when I did it a few months ago.
Thanks Brent, It is really beautiful country out there.

1150?! 😱 Hahaha yep, rain, mud & crossings…you would’ve been knackered at the end of it but oooooh so accomplished! 😂👍🏴☠️🏍💨
Thanks Coobye, you're a brave or crazy doing that in the rain on an 1150GSA!
@@ShonkyProductions Trust me, it wasn't planned that way but what do you do but push ahead😂. I'll be on the DR when I head up your way soon.

I did it on an R100GS PD about 25 years ago. It made me realise that a 250kg bike is no fun off road, sold it immediately after

Haha... Thanks for watching. There were a few deadly snakes about... They'll kill you just as dead as a crocodile will.

Yes, those things are crazy slippery. I've learnt my lesson now!
Great video Sean, enjoyed it heaps. We certainly live in the lucky country. Except for those bloody crossings. 🤣
Thanks Jethro. Yes, we do, so many awesome places to ride.

Thanks Kevin, Alex says his knee is getting better so hopefully nothing too serious. It's my first go at using a drone, so I'm still learning.
what the great ride... the best off road that I see...
Thanks, it is really a beautiful area.
Looks awesome 😎 those 20 crossings are certainly a challenge I hope to do one day
Thanks Margaret, it's defiantly a must do ride.

Sounds like you had the technique worked out straight away. I had to figure it out the hard way 🤦♂
Great ride. Loved your video! Subscribed 🙂
Awesome, thank you!
Nice video. Thanks to Alex for showing us what to avoid. I did not think he was going to walk away from that!
Thanks. I'll pass on your thanks to Alex too!

I went across one of those stream crossings once that was like riding on ice.
Yes, I have a strong dislike for them now!
Its just a given law amongst rider's no matter what you ride :)
Now you tell me!

Re those causeways, it’s best to ride in the wheel paths rather than the middle.
YES that's a good tip. We were riding in the car wheel tracks!
Been there done that in England, concrete based water crossings are definitely an accident waiting to happen !
I can totally agree with you there. The rocky ones are much safer.
Did the same run a few years back with the big bikes, that greasy moss is indiscriminate in who it takes down.
I have a whole new level of respect and fear of them now.
those damn concrete water crossings.
I have an all new respect for them now!
@8:36 nice work Sean kama will repay you for that good deed
Thanks Michael 👍
Holy cow batman...... a Honda NSR150..
Yeah, that's what I thought too. That's why I was really worried about him because I knew he shouldn't be going that way on that bike!
Hi , any chance I can get a detailed road list you took by any chance ? Cheers .
Are you a member of the Sydney Adventure Riders page on Facebook? If so, you can get the .GPX tracks from there.
Are you still using the Moto X exhaust?
No, I've swapped out the muffler with something else.
