I remember this show when it came out. Could'nt understand why ABC really never gave it a chance. I always watched. I was angry when it got cancelled. Enjoying these episodes VERY much!! ABC cancels on a whim. Another great show this season was "The Kids Are Alright". Cancelled it. Many ppl are quite angry. Thanks for these posts!!
Unfortunately, I never saw all the episodes. It went under the radar the first time. And the second time, I was busy getting 4 million to pay my stepfather's debts to the mob. (he vanished and left it all to my mother and younger brother). But hey 14yrs later and I got just 100 000 debt to repay. And I am celebrating alone, with honey slivovice. And this Gem.
"We're gay, we pray, get used to it." As a queer Christian I loved this line! Some of the jokes didn't age well but overall this is very progressive for 2003, I'm disappointed it was cancelled.
As a 'cath', I love these catholic 'stereotypes'. They are hilarious. And I think most - open-minded gays 'ld love these gay 'stereotypes'. Hilarious too. They shouldn't feel uncomfortable with this. These are just fictional characters from a sitcom.
Never saw this before. It's storyline means nothing now - the US is more divided and polarized than the writers for this sitcom could ever imagine!! Sad that this was supposed to be funny...😖
Great premise, but the writing's terrible. The dialogue and "jokes" would have been formulaic and tired even for a 90s show, nevermind that this came out in the 2000s. And Harriet Sansom Harris is criminally underused here - the slutty sister is the only vaguely funny character.
Join the real world; it is a much better place then the black and white life you live in! God is the only one who can judge, you should know this right?
Uh that is exactly what the bible says. The Torah is the old covenant with God and the Gospels are the new covenant with God. If you don't realise that then you aren't a very good Christian
Sure, it does now. But in 2003, this was the ONLY show on a primetime network with ANY queer representation. This show was basically the Modern Family of its time. That being said, of course it sucks. No sitcom pilots are ever as good as what the show turns out to be, or has the potential for. Besides, humor doesn't age well, especially when it comes to television sitcom humor. It's 2024 bro, even Friends sometimes makes us cringe in this day & age. lol
@@loganbond8285 I disagree, I can name DOZENS of 80's & 90's sitcoms where the pilot was excellent Also, Jason Bateman was in Some of My Best Friends in 2201 where he played a gay man with a straight roommate - it was actually funny, not hysterical, but it was not as cringe as this crap
