I thought so because of the halloween stuff in there. xD You show so many shops there and so much cute stuff and explained so good this thing with the tourist problem. That was very nice. ^_^ I hope i can see als these shops in my vacation soon. :3 Ah - and you have adorable things in your own "shop" too. ^___^
I really want to go to Harajuku - it's a shame people only go there to take pictures. It looked amazing there - so many things to choose from. I think if I went there I'd be broke because of all the nice things and my friends would encourage more than discourage -- I'm always in trouble when I shop with friends hhaha are you going to do a haul video?? That would be really cool :) keep up the awesome work!!
I find clothes on the high street so boring, so Harajuku's the only place I really enjoy shopping! Yes, I have a haul coming up! And some more videos about Harajuku too! :-)
Cakes with Faces it depends on the clothes, I like bonmarche and charity shops - great places to find awesome pieces. That's great that you've found a place you enjoy to shop - looks like you had so much fun in Harajuku !! Can't wait to see your upcoming videos :)
My eyes are filled with happy tears, my heart is pounding and I feel weightless, is this love? Harajuku love? How I would love to walk around the corner and suddenly see Takeshita dori spread out in front of me.
Glad you enjoyed it! There's more on the way from Harajuku - I filmed so much it wouldn't all fit into just one video X-D Wish I could go there whenever at the weekends!
I know the feeling! There are always more things you want to see. I've found that every time I go, I discover more and feel less nervous about going into places and trying new things!
Can you tell me where you got the background music? I'd love to listen to it when I drive, such an upbeat song for summer! :3 I love your videos, can't wait to shop in Tokyo one day, hopefully with a large budget!
I love how cute and happy the background music sounds too! I made the track using Jukedeck - it's free so if you'd like the mp3 email me amy @ cakeswithfaces.co.uk :-) I hope you can make it to Tokyo one day - I'm sure you'll love it!
Haha, there aren't many clothes I want to buy in the shops in the UK, so I save up and splurge in Harajuku! It's actually not as expensive as you might think, although it does depend where you shop! :-)
I know!! :-( Harajuku's the only place I really enjoy shopping! But in the UK, Cutesy Kink now stock clothes from ACDC Rag, my fav shop on Takeshita Street, and you can get Listen Flavor from Tofu Cute :-)
Watching lots of your videos in preparation for my trip in a few weeks 😱 what shops do you and Phil recommend for men's clothes? My boyfriend and I agree men's stuff can be a bit boring....!
I totally agree - we often lament how mens clothes are so dull!! There are some shops on Takeshita Street and around Harajuku that have mens clothes that are a bit more fun. We've also found some decent stuff in Shimokitazawa, I think on the south-east side of the station. There is also a Marui Mens (Marui is a department store; there are several of them), but I haven't checked it out so it could be just dull normal clothes! :-)
May will be a great time for your trip, the weather will be lovely in Japan then! This year the start of May (up until the 7th), is Golden Week, which is a big holiday in Japan so touristy areas will be busy during that time. As for Harajuku, avoid the weekend, especially Sunday, it'll be packed. During the week is much better if you want to actually look around the shops and buy things! Remember to explore the side streets of Takeshita Street, and the backstreets at the end so you don't miss anything. Have a fantastic trip! :-D
Oh my! All that cat and whale clothes! Sooo cute! But could you please tell what is the average price for example for a shirt? Love your videos! They are so interesting and informative!
Hello! Your video couldn't be any better! I love it, you show so many cute shops! I was just wondering (if you still remember it would be amazing) what the shop where the big Totoro and the Neko Atsume goodies was called? If you don't remember, do you think I would be able to find it easily in the Takeshita street?
time lady Thank you!! Not sure if the name but it's on Takeshita Street, on the right hand side if you're walking from the station. There were small anime bits & pieces downstairs but the all the best stuff was upstairs! Remember to explore everywhere because in Tokyo so many places are up small staircases or in basements! More Harajuku videos on the way :-)
Hi, Amy! What japanese products you use for your beautiful and colored hair? And what's your skincare routine? I'll traveling to Japan in june and I'm searching for the best products. Thank you, greetings from Brazil. :)
Hi Emilia! I use Directions hair dye and Stargazer - I made a video about them a while back! ruclips.net/video/yj55hNsyvRI/видео.html To get really bright colour you need to bleach your hair first - but be careful as it can dry your hair out. For skincare, I don't use anything special - I don't have much of a clue about beauty products, sorry!! :-) Not my specialist subject - maybe try channels like Kim Dao or Beckii, they know lots about beauty and skincare!
Maybe a bit of a random question - but what sizes of clothing can you find in the kinds of stores you were showing in this video? I'm an Aus/UK 10 but I would really love to shop for all these cute and beautiful clothes in Japan. I am just scared I am too big for them. Thanks!
I'm UK size 10 too so you should have no problems - everything will fit! "Free size" (one size) is very common, and sizes are smaller than western sizes - Phil found he needed a size up from what he'd normally pick. I have one or two items (a fitted dress, and a shorts-dungarees set) that I wouldn't fit into if I was an inch bigger, but you should be fine with the majority of items. I've been with friends who are a larger size and they've been able to buy clothes too. :-)
I've noticed a lot of trends seem to become popular in Japan before coming over to the west (both fashion and design trends). There seems to be a lot more originality in the shops over there.
i think the only reason why i wouldnt buy clothes there is because they most likely dont do plus size there (i can just about find some stuff in my plus size here in the UK), though i would pick up some accessories
It is unfortunate for us that the sizes are so small in Japan, and a lot of the clothes are one size. But yes you'll definitely be able to get lots of really cute accessories, bags, hats, jewellery etc!
It's on Takeshita Street, on the right if you're coming from the station. It looks like an underwear shop but there's a staircase at the back up to the cute merch! There's a newer tour of Harajuku on my channel that shows the front :-)
It was a shop on Takeshita Street - if you're coming from the station it's on the right-hand side, in the first half of the street. Same shop as the giant Totoro! All the Gudetama stuff was upstairs. You can also find lots of cute things in Tokyo Station, if you follow signs to Character Street (First Avenue). :-)
errrr,... I'm not into buying things but I definitely cherish Meiji Shrine, at least once a year I pray there ... (there and Yasukuni Shrine which is a little, um, complicated)
Ah it can be so hard to find places sometimes can't it! It's on one of the little side streets off the main Takeshita Street - on the right hand side if you're coming from the station.
Tiamat Storm Laforet is a department store, not far from Takeshita Street (the main shopping street in Harajuku). If you search on Google Maps for "Laforet Harajuku" you'll find it. You can walk there easily from Harajuku Station.
You see so many funny/unusual uses of english and grammar/spelling that's off! It is pretty funny - although I'm sure if I tried to write Japanese it'd be far worse!! :-)
Thank you, this video was very good. ^_^
Thanks so much! It takes ages to edit my videos so it's great to know you enjoyed it! :-)
I thought so because of the halloween stuff in there. xD
You show so many shops there and so much cute stuff and explained so good this thing with the tourist problem. That was very nice. ^_^
I hope i can see als these shops in my vacation soon. :3
Ah - and you have adorable things in your own "shop" too. ^___^
Thank you, so happy you like my designs! :-) You'll love it, have an amazing time on your trip!
Thank you. ^_^
I know i will love everything there. :3
I really want to go to Harajuku - it's a shame people only go there to take pictures. It looked amazing there - so many things to choose from. Amazing. I just saw about 10 items to buy (mostly with cats) in about 3 mins. of video!
Hehe, you really need to save up when you go to Harajuku!! It's where I do pretty much all my clothes shopping :-)
Hooray! A brand-new Harajuku vlog! I have watched literally every single Harajuku vlog on youtube, including ones in polish Q_Q.
I'm obsessed, someone trade me my young soul for a little apartment in Tokyo.

Did you get to try those Halloween fries? they look so interesting! love Japan!
No, I didn't try them - they definitely sound "interesting"...! :-) There was a cafe serving crisps with ice cream and chocolate sauce too!
I love that sandwich, too.

I can be both social and antisocial. I can either go shopping in big crowds or be just by myself, I don't really care.
There'll definitely be crowds in Harajuku!!! Avoid the weekends for sure if you want to actually look at things in the shops!
The Japanese must have a very good domestic and international fashion market :)
I've noticed a lot of trends seem to become popular in Japan before coming over to the west (both fashion and design trends). There seems to be a lot more originality in the shops over there.
All the thing there is made in japan right? Include small thing like stickers?
It depends on the shop and where they get their stock from.
Where did u get the katsu sandwich?
They have them at convenience stores! Once we got a fancy one at the station that was ¥¥¥.
I love the music! You made the music?
Me too! I didn't make it, but if you like this style, Phil's in a ska band called Those Fine Strangers: open.spotify.com/artist/4whz0LHNgqlosjm4ytscsF

Tiamat Storm Laforet is a department store, not far from Takeshita Street (the main shopping street in Harajuku). If you search on Google Maps for "Laforet Harajuku" you'll find it. You can walk there easily from Harajuku Station.
