Holly is right on the money with her theory. I don't believe they would have voluntarily given her up. That cult hurt them when they were trying to leave. How sad.

I'm sorry but if women dressed in white robes came to my door saying here, take this baby, we can't allow the parents to have her, I'd be calling the police and if they did or the state were aware then they have questions to answer

Phillip, Holly's father actually did everything right. He worked with authorities and an attorney to do everything he was asked. The one thing that is unfortunate is that the state never investigated the biological family. It was a different time.

Exactly! Why weren't the police called and informed about a missing baby? These random women in white robes would have seemed suspicious to me and I would have thought they were kidnappers. Yeah, sorry the story told to her sounds made up and I have a feeling the person who facilitated her kidnapping knows what happened to her biological parents.

How did the barefoot women, in that cult that believed in no killing whatsoever including animals, know her name in order to tell the minister / priest unless they had spent some time with the baby AND her parents?
    -------------
The minster-couple then chose to keep the name upon adoption when so many adoptive parents change the names of the youngest children. Or did the woman go back to using "Holly" after she found out her original name when her origin was discovered?

I too was part of the Christ Family. Believe me, we were hated by many, because our message challenged their lifestyle
We declared that our Father who created all life wanted everyone to stop killing. We were against all forms of killing, from human war to animals slaughter. Many people could understand why. They too felt that the death and resurrection of Jesus should mean an end to killing! Many others hated the message and wanted to kill us!
There were many jailings, beatings, and threats that came to us. And always it was easier to walk away than to stay. We had no homes, no overseers, no jobs beyond the central mission that took us out on the road in faith, trusting God for our daily bread, sharing the word that Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace.

@JustBeingAwesome - 1) Your username indicates a very high opinion of yourself.
      2) Holly does not sound delusional to me, just hyper-religious as per her minster adoptive father.
      3) Even though she knew she was adopted and about the barefoot women, to find out the whole story of her parent's brutal murder in another state and her abduction must have turned her world upside down.

@@MossyMozart everyone should have a high opinion of themselves. Those that have self-love and self-respect do less harm in the world. Instead they are love and can spread love.

Why didn't the Adoptive Father call the Police to get proof from the Ladies in robes and look for the Parents ? Suspect!

Where in the world did you hear that? The little family had a car. The cult contacted Holly's grandmother in Florida with an offer to sell it back to her. The cult members are the ones who told her that the couple had joined their cult. Supposedly.

But then again it is also too easy for the real murderers to divert the attention to this religious group just because it is a bit nerdy.
It's also interesting why large religious groups are never put under such scrutiny...even though we know if all the crimes the Catholic church has committed during the last 2k years...and with all of its crimes against children in the recent decades.
In short: it doesn't follow that this group has anything to do with that.
I have such an enlightenment because I am free from all religion.

The leader of this group has documented history with child abuse, assault, gun trafficking, and distribution and use of meth. He went to jail for some offenses before his death. They were violent despite the "love and light" reputation.

@mf568 - It is things like this - a brutal double murder, kidnapping, everyone suffering in the dark for 40 years - that lets me know that s/he does _not_ exist. How bizarre that you praise a god for inventing cruelty and manipulation.
