Vurtego Pogo Stick Maintenance - Oil Change

  • Your Vurtego pogo stick is a finely tuned machine, and just like every other high performance piece of equipment out there, you'll need to perform some routine maintenance from time to time.
    Over time, your pogo stick will suck in dirt, and the lubricant will turn into a sticky grease. When that happens, it will slow down and take more effort to bounce. Before that happens, you should perform an oil change.
    We recommend oil changes every 4-5 times that you add lubricant, or around 1-2 months if you use your pogo stick on a frequent basis. Luckily it only takes about 10 minutes, and when you finish, you'll be surprised to find that your pogo stick bounces better than brand new.

    hello vuretgo team !
    Is it advisable to use the VURETGO V4 in the rains...? does it damage the stick ?
    if no, then why...?
    thank you team !

      the pogo stick itself is waterproof, but we don't recommend jumping on the rain. When the ground us wet it's very easy to lose traction and slip out, which is never a fun thing

    I just bought one in freaking Poland, even if you want to order in Amazon from Germany it’s cost more then from states and I’m so happy, when I was a child I dreamed about it (I had adhd) and guy that had it told me that he was waiting for a long time and that was a Christmas gift so they send him 2 instead of one so really respect for company, it was used like 2 or 3 times over a year so like new but do I need to clean it or just add lubricant and I’m ready to go???

    Hey, I'm a bit confused. can you use baby oil gel too, do both oil change and lube?

    • @vurtegopogos
      @vurtegopogos  6 лет назад +1

      Jakes The Snakes after you clean everything up during an oil change you'll need to add new lubricant. Baby oil gel is a good choice for the smoothest possible ride.

  • @zolikubi
    @zolikubi 4 года назад

    I did this but the pogo is more grabby then before. It seems like the piston grabs the sides of the cylinder. Is there better oil than baby oil to use or a different O-ring??

    • @vurtegopogos
      @vurtegopogos  4 года назад

      Try adding some oil directly onto the shaft. If that doesn't work then you probably need to add more oil into the cylinder. A new o-ring wouldn't change anything. Baby oil gel and Vaseline are the two lubes preferred by the best of the best.

      If you can't find a 3/16" allen wrench at a hardware store, the closest size is 4.5mm. The mm allen wrench will be a little loose, so you may need something to tighten the fit a little bit (like some paper pressed around the allen wrench). When loosening the bolts go slowly, and be very careful to not strip the holes.

    • @vurtegopogos
      @vurtegopogos  7 лет назад +1

      Are you sure that the nozzle is properly on the fill valve? Sometimes it appears to be on but isn't actually filling the stick with air. If it is definitely on, is the o-ring seal still on the piston? If not, the air will leak by and not push the shaft out.

    • @merukothari

    • @vurtegopogos
      @vurtegopogos  8 лет назад

      +Cody Deweerd You can put some Vaseline on the shaft of the V3, but the bushing on the V3 doesn't have the special lube pockets. Baby oil works well, but it's really runny so it'll tend to leak out the stick faster than Vaseline and baby oil gel will.

    • @vurtegopogos

      rocketsfan_ With about a month of continuous use on the pogo stick you should start by adding lube. You can do that a few times before performing the full oil change. The only time you need to change the seal is if the stick suddenly starts to leak air...which usually means that the seal is scratched.

      OK, no problem, I'll maybe get a cheaper pogo stick before buying a V4

    I’ve done an oil change and after putting lube into it it still fills pretty stiff. I’m pretty sure I cleaned it good.

    • @vurtegopogos
      @vurtegopogos  4 года назад

      Does the shaft have any lube on it? Usually when you wipe the shaft down to clean it you need to add a little bit of lube back onto it afterward.

      vurtegopogo yeah I did that. Maybe I didn’t add enough.

      vurtegopogo I used baby oil gel from Walgreens and put about 20ml

      @@thebox4673 That sounds about right. That's really strange that it feels stiff. Maybe try adding a little more to it just in case. If that doesn't work, you might need the check how tight the shaft is in the bushing.

      That's not a big deal. You can always use it without that. Or you can use a rubber band or hair tie or one of those rubber livestromg wristbands. Or if you send us an email and we can mail a replacement to you.

    I would not recommend vaseline or baby oil as a lube as it contains petroleum and will deteriorate the rubber seals a silicone base lube or gel works best with rubber seals which does not contain petroleum base!

    • @vurtegopogos
      @vurtegopogos  7 лет назад

      Tu Vang Please don't listen to this comment. We make these pogo sticks for a living. Vaseline and baby oil are both great lubricants to use and will not wear your seal down in any noticeable amount of time.

    No grown man can risk injury falling off an adult pogo stick. It’s a rule. You’d have to lie for like 7 months about why you missed work and have a limp. Everybody would know though that you fell off a giant pogo stick.

    How do you clean stuff like sand

    • @vurtegopogos
      @vurtegopogos  7 лет назад +1

      VURTEPOGO where's the sand? For most parts you can just wipe the sand off once the stick is taken apart. If the sand is in the cylinder you should stick an old rag or t-shirt into it to get the sand out.

    • @vurtegopogos
      @vurtegopogos  7 лет назад +2

      VURTEPOGO yeah, you can spray paint it. You'd just need to sand the powder coating down to give the spray paint something to stick to.
