- In this video I turn a chunky, rustic bowl from a root that I dug up some 6-7 years ago. It sat waiting for many years until I bought lathe and then proved too much for my early skill set. Now you view take 2!

That looks awesome! Great work Dave!
Thank you John
Dave...considering what you started out with, that is just amazing....Incredible outcome and very unique!
Thank you John
Roots make beautiful pieces. But as you showed, we have to be careful of dirt and rocks. Well done.
Thank you Doug
Great looking piece, Dave! The bark reminds me of Mulberry, even the grain is similar but Mulberry is yellow. Nice job! 😊
Phil
Thank you Phil! I really wish I had some idea what it was but I was more interested in digging it out so I could extend the patio!
Can't beat a nice root ball!! I dug up a big rose bush at the back end of last year and strangely enough, the root ball went in my wood store haha. Another cool piece and video to match! Thanks for sharing, cheers mate!
Thanks Tim! looking forward to seeing what you do with the rose root.
Absolutely stunning Dave.
I have 3 root balls of differing sizes so will start of with the smallest and work my way to the biggest which is a Rhododendron Root ball.
Take care mate.
Cheers, Huw
Thank you Huw. It's one of those pieces I've had hanging around for ages and my expectations of what it might end up like were fairly low so I enjoyed the process and I'm very pleased with the outcome!
Hi Dave really nice piece, rootballs do look nice as the grain runs in all directions, they do look good set in resin as well, but you have done a really good job with that
Cheers Steve!
Beautiful piece
Thank you Clint
Challenging piece Dave! I can understand why it took you so long to turn it.
Thank you Leo! Yes, sometimes you need to put things away for another time but I'm so glad I have it a second go! All the best, Dave
Pretty cool👍😎
Thank you Luie!
