Mole Valley Maker
Великобритания
Добавлен 30 апр 2019
I started wood turning in the later part of 2018 as a significant birthday approached. Since then I extended my working space, added another lathe, bigger bandsaw and lots more tools. I'm constantly watching others and trying to learn all sort of techniques associated with turning such as the decoration side of the craft. I hope you enjoy what you see and I am open to commissions.

Nicely done Dave.
That is lovely Dave. Great Skew work as ever. Looking forward to the Tree. Take care mate. Cheers, Huw
Cheers Huw...and no royalty to pay to you either! Tree video uploaded and set for next Wednesday @ 20pm. You might almost call me organised!!
Always looking for new ideas for turning Christmas related items. A bit late for 2024 but I like to start early. Season 2025 is hereby opened! Thnx Dave! 😎
Thanks Leo! Yeah, I got so busy last year from September onwards I need to just keep making all year round. This pair of ear rings that you see in these videos sold the Friday after they were made to a Silver Smith who had a stall next to mine. There's something very gratifying to sell jewellery to a jeweller!
Cool. Beautiful snowman. 😊😊
Thank you 🤗
Nice one mate! Yes, No need to go through all the grits as your skew has done most of the work Cheers,Bram
Exactly Bram, burnish after the cut!
Perfect. Where can I download the template?
Thank you. Richard Findley's Instagram post would have had a link to download the template back when the challenge was issued so I'd go and have a look there.
Lovely little bowl that mate! Nice work!
Thanks Tim!
Thanks for sharing. Will have a go - once warmer lol
Thank!
Many thanks. A very honest video.

Great work mate. I still have a crochet hook set to do, but will have to make some of these at some point too.
Thanks John. I've sold lots at markets this years (both Crochet and seam rippers)
@@MoleValleyMaker cool. These will be the perfect gift for some family and friends... though my wife is still waiting for her crochet hooks
Cool vid 🙂 what do call that drive center ... My Mrs has got me making light pulls now! 😁
That's a good idea. I have a few small pieces of olive, mainly branch wood. Might have to make some tree decorations with them.
Thanks for watching the old stuff John!
@@MoleValleyMaker this is me trying to catch up on my watchlist 🤣🤣 It's way too long
We must obey the algorithm 🙌 cute bowl.
Thanks Martin. Have you though about making a video about making a skeleton using the bandsaw by any chance?

I make small bowls like that, and insert a magnet into the bottom for paper clips, pins, screws, etc. Nicely done.
Thanks for watching and for the idea!
Nicely done, good tool control. Geoff
Thank you very much.
Nice work Dave! I will have to do some of these for some practice this year.
That's the spirit!
Well done

Well done Dave demonstrates some good skills and dexterity
Thanks Steve
Gorgeous little bowl Dave. Take care mate. Cheers, Huw

Yah mica powders really depend on the observer seeing the pigment within the material. Anything opaque you want to color wont be much affected by mica because all you see is the few pitment particles that were exposed on the outermost surface. Thanks for the test. I am curious the threshhold if a LOT more mica were used.. maybe make it crumbly but curious to know. Thanks again, I really do hope some effective method for coloring Milliput does get discovered.
Thanks for commenting. I stuck with the general rule of no more than 10% by volume for the mica powder. I'm guessing you would be right and it would get crumbly. I've just got some of the new Metallic Milliput so looking forward to trying that!
Its a nice little bowl Dave, and as always, well crafted.Cheers,Bram
Thanks Bram!
A beautifully turned bowl Dave...Nicely done mate.
Thank you! Cheers!
I always enjoy turning little bowls like that. They're handy around the house and make nice little gifts. Enjoyed it.

Cheers Chris. I made 20 odd the other week to fill my large bowl up for the markets. Great sellers for jewellery, pills, salt etc.
Size doesn’t take away from the beauty of a nice bowl. Pretty piece.
